Hello there. As many of आप have already noticed,there has been a lot of stuff that's not for kids 13 and under. Like pornography in a couple of spots and vile language. As their seniors I guess,we should make this place safer for them. Nobody wants to be arrested for talking sexually to a 12 साल older या for posting child porn on here. But many people wonder why they shouldn't curse. I will honestly explain that to you. Please enjoy this opinionated article.

One of the first reasons why a person shouldn't curse (type them anyways) around 13-11 साल olders on here is because they might learn it too. A lot of young kids have cursed या at least did something bad these days. Which is not good. But,you may wonder how आप can help या even stop it. Well,instead of cursing around children on here (if आप KNOW they're kids around) replace the word with something else. Like for example,instead of saying f**k. Say ठगना, हेराफेरी या fried. Something that isn't the original bad word. Same goes for almost every word. Like..son of a b**h. Replace the last word with gun,door,bell. Something that isn't bad. Kids shouldn't be exposed to this. But then again,they shouldn't come on this site if they're younger than 13. But I,myself,came here when I was 12 so who am I kidding right? Anyways,moving on to the pornography.

In one वाद-विवाद question,I have seen a full blown out porn picture. This shouldn't have been पोस्टेड (even if the सवाल WAS about if sex should be illegal.) Despite that being the question,there was no need for the picture. This could harm या damage a child द्वारा them seeing it. आप never know if someone who जवाब या even looks at the सवाल is a child या not. That also goes to the याओइ and Yuri club. They have some...explicit content there. Stuff that isn't suited anyways as stated in the rules and also for the kids sake. Those pictures shouldn't be on there. A child cannot see stuff like that. They are simply not ready for stuff like this. I mean आप honestly think ALL 10-13 साल olders are ready to learn about sex and those types of stuff? Possibly some of them. Mostly 13 साल olders. I HIGHLY doubt a 10 या an 11 साल older wants to see या learn about stuff like that yet.

This has been quite a problem. People have also "abused" या insulted children on here. Some of them are mature and some of them are not. Please refrain from yelling या insulting a child when they annoy आप and calmly tell them to stop या ignore them.

egyptprincess7 @L Well of course there will be those types of stuff on those particular clubs. But that doesn't mean they mix and mash into a club like...Disney for example. i'm more worried about the kids if they see it. They might not just ignore it though.

egyptprincess7 @X-Kid Because if you teach them in a weird way they might not...grow up as well I guess. They'll have anger inside them and they will revolt against you. Especially if you use a certain type of way that they don't like.

Zeppie I understand what you're getting at. But let's live in the real world and not a sugar-coated pc world for a second here. I guess you could say that it's hard for me to connect to the idea that young kids (12 under) would even be surfing on websites such as this because with my upbringing, and all my mates at my age, we weren't on the internet at that age. Heck, I had dial up internet until I was 16. I agree with the cursing, but not entirely. If you know there's kids around (just as in real life too) I for one, really refrain from cursing unless it accidentally slips out. I wouldn't purposely do that. BUT, cursing to an extent can fit into freedom of speech and aid in emphasising an emotion you're trying to put across (because emotion in text is quite often misinterpreted). As for the sexual content, I'm pretty sure kids of that age know what sex is. It's not going to "damage" them as you say. Many things can damage a child. Viewing a picture of some naked people wont. So yeah, I will contain myself if I know a child is around, but I'm not going to censor my online presence to 'protect' the children. I will be myself. If a kid doesn't like what they see, then they can go somewhere else. Just like when I don't like what I see, I will go somewhere else. That is something that applies to anyone of any age.

egyptprincess7 @Zeppie Yes,I perfectly understand your point. Are you sure seeing a picture of naked people won't? How would you know? Kids have a different way of looking at things than people who are older than them. They might find pictures of naked people disgusting and will probably freak out over bad words that they see. I don't think things are any different on any site.

Zeppie I understand that certainly SOME children would have a reaction such as that. But I'm looking at this on a broader scale. How do I know? Well I was that age once of course :P I do remember at that age that I was uncomfortable with those things, but it certainly didn't damage or freak me out if I saw it. I for one was taught about what sex was when I was quite young, maybe 6 or so? And as for language, you hear worse language at school and at home as far as I'm concerned. I knew swear words were bad at that age, but understood that some people used them. I was taught just to not use them myself. Plus. I do a lot of babysitting and have a lot of younger cousins in that age range we're speaking of. When we're on the internet with them and you get little pop up ads of half naked woman in the side bar, they just laugh at it. I think it depends on the individual child. Monitor how a child behaves when exposed to such things, then choose on how you will handle the exposure of that particular content to a child. Every child is different. Not every child will "freak" at the sight of such things. I hope this doesn't come across as an argument. I just don't want kids to be generalised as being weak and completely intolerant to mature things.

misscrazel I disagree with this article. I knew about all this stuff when I was younger and 10-12 year old children cuss more than most other ages. I'm sorry if it seems like I'm being mean, it's just my opinion. If they don't know about all this by the time their ten they need to learn.

kitty_kat210 I agree with you. I actually had to go through someone cursing at me on here and it didn't feel nice. It's just some people these days are too selfish and greedy to see that other people have feelings too. Sure, sometimes the occasional s*** slips out, it's happened to me before. The sex thing, I couldn't share a point of view from. Just because I had sex ed in 6th grade. But if you meant pornography, there have been sometimes when I've came across a picture that had someone in a disturbing pose. I'm getting carried away. So pretty much I agree with you.

gwendiamond I agree with you. Just because kids aren't allowed to make accounts it doesn't mean they don't come on here. It isn't right. Pornography on clubs like Disney or places like that is not right. Think about others. You know kids, if they see something they'll just keep on talking about it and they'll never tell their parents were they learnt it from. I wonder if there are a few adults here who agree. Cussing is a natural teenage thing, ok maybe I wouldn't say natural but its really common. We can't really stop that but the porn we can. Don't put porn on places for "non-porn" stuff. True kids already know about sex and stuff, my sister learnt about it 5th grade but try and stop it them seeing porn. Please. Be responsible and keep Fanpop clean.

IllusionDolls I agree with you. While it is, obviously, true that children 11-13 will be aware of sexuality, and etc., at that sensitive age, seeing that sort of thing can be harmful to them. All of us on Fanpop are perfectly aware that there are plenty of users who lie about their age, in order to create an account, so, its up to us to hold up a discretionary end of things, and make a good example for them. That is inclusive of cursing. Some people, I'm surprised, at their age, can't restrain themselves in front of pre-teenagers and children. Its irresponsible and infantile. A lot of pre-teenagers get into a "cursing phase", mainly because they're afraid they'll be ridiculed or excluded, if they don't. It's not a good habit to stay into for your entire life, because once you reach a certain age, it will give others a bad impression of you. I, myself, don't even use curse words, because I think that it sounds stupid, and makes it seem as if someone has a limited vocabulary. To everyone who says: "I disagree. I knew about that stuff when I was ____" you are missing Egypt's entire point.

Bluekait I completely agree with this. I seen people swear in front of kids that are younger than 11 *cough cough* my aunt with kids that are ages 3 and 8*cough cough* and it's completely stupid to say those things around young children. What's happening with today's society is kids doing stupid things like having sex, getting pregnant, using drugs, etc. and NO ONE cares! For the sex part, yea okay. You gotta learn about it sooner or later. So? It's learning. We are talking about actually seeing it on here or doing it that's makes it a problem. When kids ask their parents about it and says they seen it on here, this website is going to shut down because of it. You REALLY gotta watch what you post on here because you aren't sure who you talking too is a 8 year-old child or a 31 year-old adult.

I'm pretty sure an 11 year old already knows about sex and I'm pretty positive they know about cursing or they curse their self. I get what you're saying tho but I don't care about other kids, when they're doing something they shouldn't. These rules on this site smh no wonder on one gets on here that much. We're not responsible for those little s**tbags. Their parents should be monitoring their kids, not us. Kids cuss far more than I do. But anyhow, cussing is a way to intensify an emotion. Nudity is not a bad thing, we were born nude. Its something kids and adults shouldn't be ashamed of. As for the last paragraph, that also falls under the terms, both kids and adults alike. Children are not the only one targeted. Though, for the most part, I agree with X-Kid. Fanpop doesn't have automatic censoring. Its not supposed to be a kid-friendly site, but a site for 13+. pearlxashxdawn I agree with you completely... I'm 13 so I'm legal here :P And I want my innocent mind to stay innocent. I don't curse. Well I can take the word "hell" and "crap/shit" but that's all there is. Look, I first created this account 2 years ago. I know I'm not legal at that age (please don't report me). But when you first saw an interesting site that you want to sign up for, even though at that age you're not allowed to, you'll still go for it. Put yourself onto that state of mind. A sad story.

*Sigh* 14 years of age. And yet, life hasn't gotten too much better. I have a bit और friends, and am getting along with life pretty well, so what's the problem?

Well, it's....These haunting memories of mine. They keep coming back to me, back when I was nothing और than a mere shadow, hiding all alone in the corner of my school.

It started out as a weird dream.... I was standing on a cliff, and there was a short gap between another cliff that I could've jumped over pretty easily, but the gap got larger.

And it was right then and there that I realized, I was alone.

It seemed like the dream wanted...
