Blank banner template

cassie-1-2-3 I tried to get an exact crop, but this is the closest I could manage. (841x97) This is just so you can know where the shadow will be while you're making your banners.

DarkSarcasm It breaks my heart, thinking about the thousands of banners that people worked their asses off on that now look FUCKING HIDEOUS. I tried cropping one too, to see what the dimensions were... it was hard enough, getting people to remember 800x100, how is anyone supposed to remember this?!?

cassie-1-2-3 I'm guessing that the banners are probably the same size, but the black on the left just add an extra 40 pixels, but it won't effect the dimensions of any 800x100 banners.

michael The banners are still 800x100. We will update the banner upload page if this ever changes. The banner is aligned to right and we fade it into the black bar on the left. The grey overlay is also applied at the bottom so the club's title can be easily read on top of most backgrounds. P.S. Please be gentle with us, a lot of work and testing went into these design changes and over time we believe this will improve the site quality and usability.

Roxas1314 Change the color back. I don't care about anything else, just get rid of this awful color scheme! It's too much like Facebook it's scary.

Mongoose09 @michael: I'm sorry but what would possess ANYONE to put a disgusting black smudge on a banner in the first place? Please get rid of it, it serves no purpose whatsoever and makes it look absolutely revolting - not so much on this specific club but on others. It's like ideas were put into a hat and this was a "joke" that someone put in that another person happened to pick. And I don't make banners but thanks for this cassie-1-2-3 :)

misanthrope86 I'm afraid I am far too stupid to understand how blackening and fading out unique spot banners will improve site quality and usability.

nikki8green6 Why mess with the spot banners at all? Exactly what was wrong with old banners to begin with? The black smudge is hideous but I can get use to it if they just take away the GIANT bubble letters that cover up half the banner (over half if it's a long club name)

Cinders @michael & co - I'm on your side. I support your changes, most of the time, I see the positive, and I know people ALWAYS freak out at first over changes and the hype dies down and they get used to it. And I know you expect the same to be true of this. But even for me, this is too much change for one update, and it bothers me. The layout I can get used to, but I agree with (many) people's comments here - PLEASE make the banners go back to the way they were. The banners at the very least. Leave all else, fine, I'll get used to it. I'm about to make a big and serious move to a new country that I know nothing about. I was looking forward to turning to Fanpop for solace and familiarity but now it'll be different, too. Different isn't bad, it's just come at a bad time for me, but that's just me, personally.

Safira-09 what i am asking myself again, when i look at the new banners is - why the heck did i spend hours! of my time in creating unique ones... i also dont have anything against the other changes, people will get used to them, but i think you should have thought a bit more about the users, who are doing all those graphics. its really like a kick in the ass or a slap in the face, when you just put HUGE UNNECESSARY TEXT and a fading black area onto the banners, on the hard work of people. so i can understand, that many people would like to burn you as witches right now XD i mean, you also dont like it, that so many users posting all those hate-comments, saying that they dont like it. its your work, so you can decide. so it would be nice, if you could at least add an option for the spot creators, if they want the new banner layout or the old one, if you dont want to change it back completly. you just really should consider, how all those makers feel right now.

visualkat The shadow and text have spoilt many banners myself and my friends have made. The banners should be changed back to how they were.

Xodiack Another Fanpop not so bright idea. Who is coming up with these weak solutions? Mirror imaging the left side of the banner does not help anything. First the black shadow mess... Now this? Definitely not listening to Fanpop Users.
