The tenth Mary Sue test. This one is for Mulan, who's called a Mary Sue sometimes (mostly द्वारा people who are कड़वा about her popularity, but they kind of have a point, especially with how she's always portrayed as superior to all the other princesses).

Unique traits without contacts या hair dye- Nope, she has black hair and brown eyes, common Chinese features.
An odd name- No. Actually, I'm not sure, but I'll just assume 'Mulan' is a common Chinese name.
Looks constantly टिप्पणी जोड़ा गया हे on- No, at least not about how beautiful she is.
Always the hero- Definitely. It's kind of a दिया considering her movie, but she literally saves the entire country and is better than all of the other soldiers in the army, even Shang whose life she saves as well. 1.
Multiple characters falling for her- No, only Shang.
Gets into the relationship(s) she wants- No, her relationship with Shang definitely wasn't one of her main goals.
No flaws या any flaws addressed या causing a negative impact- No. Her clumsiness (though I do hate that as a fake flaw) causes her to think she'll never bring her family honor, along with her insecurity, incompetence (at first), and weakness.
Seen as perfect/angelic in everyone's eyes- No, only after she earns it. Before that, they saw her as weak.
Always loved and trusted without earning it- No. She definitely earned the soldiers' प्यार and trust.
प्यार and trust from closed-off characters- Yes, Shang, though reasonably. 1.
Other characters degraded for her sake- Yes, the three main male soldiers. They're the comic relief portrayed as bumbling and incompetent to make मूलन look stronger. 1.
A rival to make her look good- आप know what, yes. While Shan Yu is the main villain and rival for all the soldiers, मूलन defeats him personally without any help. 1.
Never fails- No. मूलन failed the matchmaker test, keeping her identity a secret, and winning over the soldiers at first.
Never injured- No, her being injured was what led to her being revealed as a woman.
Always praised and rewarded without earning it- Definitely not. मूलन definitely earned all the praise and rewards she received.
Unrealistically skilled/powerful- Yes. It's unrealistic that मूलन was able to be the best soldier in the army, save Shang's life, defeat all the Huns, and personally defeat Shan Yu with no prior training before the army. 1.
Always figures things out- Yes. She figured out how to defeat the Hun army द्वारा aiming at the mountain and that the Huns were still alive. 1.
Kind but deadly- That's Mulan's entire character. 1.
Tragic backstory- Yes. Not as bad as some others, but she was told she wouldn't bring her family honor and never fit in. 1.
Skilled in a wide variety of things- No, only fighting, and only after training.
Contradictory traits- No, Mulan's traits were pretty consistent, only after character development did she become stronger and wiser.
Always gets what she wants- Only द्वारा the end, where she brings her family honor and is respected द्वारा all of China, plus Shang and the other soldiers. Before that, though, she almost never got what she wanted. .5
Rarely shows negative emotions- No, she shows a lot of insecurity and sings a whole song about it.
A resurrection- No, but like Esmeralda, I'm adding half a point for waking up after unconsciousness. .5

That's 9 out of 24. That's a no. मूलन is not a Mary Sue, though she is a bit overly idealized and powerful. I can see why people would think she's too idealized, especially since the other princesses are constantly put down to praise her.

Chapter seven

When Ariel and Andrina came home, the family tuned up their ears on Ariel's story. Ariel glowed as she told them her tale. She made sure to skip a few events that mentioned anything happening between her and Eric such as how warm and soft his hand felt when they shook hands. When she came to the part about the job offer, her sisters felt happy for her,but her father raised an eyebrow, and फ़्लॉन्डर, अशुद्धि frowned.

"Wow! That's great, Ariel!" कहा Arista. The other sisters nodded in agreement.

"Thanks," Ariel smiled. Nobody noticed फ़्लॉन्डर, अशुद्धि looking down at the ground with his arms crossed....

Chapter 5

Like Eric, everybody else went to sleep. However, there is one person that did not go to bed.

"AAAAAAAARRRRRRGH! I can't believe this!" A deep female voice screeched. Ursula came घर late at midnight, stomping inside her house.

"What is, Ursula?" A young whispery male voice asked. His name is Flotsam. He was a lanky man around 29 with dark blonde hair, and dressed up in all green. Another guy, standing अगला to him, is his brother, Jetsam, who is also tall and lanky and dressed up in green clothing, only with dark brown hair.

"My...

Call me Anne. I wouldn't say my age because आप would be embarrassed but think older then Elsa. I loved the 90s princess (Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, and Mulan) since I identify with them a lot. When I was in elementary&High school I did get bullied but that's a long time पूर्व now. I प्यार some of the लेखाए I have read here on this site specifically the ones arguing about सिंडरेला not waiting around for a Prince to save her. Did आप know that it took from the 1800s to the 1912 before Snow White's and Cinderella's respective stories overlapped? And in the 1913 some guy who had the last name Powers who would later help डिज़्नी with Steamboat Willie made his own film version of Snow White and borrowed the True प्यार किस from either Grimms' Briar Rose या Perrault's Beauty in the Woods.

Hello everyone! I'm Veronica (a.k.a. ApplesauceDoctr :D), and hey, it's been a little while since I've written an article. It feels good to get back into the spirit of writing. :D
So, what have I today? As आप can see, I'll be analyzing the song "Reflection" from Disney's Mulan. I made a lyric video for it about a week पूर्व and realized just how deep the song is! However, in this analysis, I'll also be taking a look at the extended version of the song. It shows a different side of मूलन that...well, you'll see soon enough.

Alright then! Let's take a listen to Reflection!

Movie Version
