I decided to start a series of analyzing the DP Couples in depth (and later, the other डिज़्नी Couples) after I got bored one day, and wanted to write a series of articles. आप can recommend me which couple to do अगला in the couples section. So here is how it is going to go. I will first explain my संपूर्ण, कुल मिलाकर statement about the couples in a paragraph, and then I will analyze each scene to look at the inner and outer feelings of the characters individually an the couple itself. I also have a request, just for a little while; please do not recommend a डिज़्नी Renaissance couple? I say this because I have gone through half of them, and I want to even out through some of the ares. At least for 2 analysis'.

First thoughts right after watching the Movie
My thoughts right after watching "The Princess and the Frog" is that the relationship between Tiana and Naveen is a bit rushed. They do know a lot about one another and when they are in love, it is sweet, but the transition of them not standing one another to being in प्यार is not really smooth. They do have some chemistry, but the execution from dislike to प्यार is not great. Also, they got married as soon as things did not work out at Mardi Gras. Alrighty


So during a clip of "Down in New Orleans", Prince Naveen just recently arrives and is passing द्वारा the restaurant Tiana works, he gives her an impressed, flirty look, which she just blows it off and continues with her work, which causes him to shrug his shoulders and continues on his way to follow the band he was playing with. They do not meet again until later in the night at Charlotte's party. Naveen who has turned into a frog, goes to the balcony, and sees a saddened Tiana who just लॉस्ट her chance of getting the restaurant. She sees the frog and sarcastically asks if he wants a kiss. When he responds, she flipped out and runs back into the bookshelf, causing a bunch of things to fall on her. She grabs whatever she can and throws it at him. He does apologize for scaring her, but then tells her to put down the monkey. He climbs into a डेस्क to introduce himself, but does not get the chance to finish as she smashes him with a book (The Frog Princess). He tells her he is the Prince of Maldonia, and is confused because she did not ask for a prince. Se puts one and one together and asks him if he is Prince Naveen, than who is dancing with Charlotte. He tells her that he does not know and all he does know is that he was dancing to the संगीत and then he suddenly is a frog. What he does NOT tell her is that he went to Doctor Facilier to have his life read. He takes a look of the book that she is holding and realized that it is The Frog Prince. Since their predicaments are similar, he connects the dots, telling her that she must किस him so he can turn back into a human. She is thinking "what the fuck", and he "reassures her" saying that she will enjoy it, since every girl enjoys his kiss. Tiana tells the frog that she would really like to help him, but she has limits and चुंबन a frog is one of them. This confuses Naveen since she asked him of he wanted a किस before on the balcony; clearly not understanding sarcasm. To trick her into getting her to किस him, he lies about having money and tells her that he can give her a monetary reward. Since she needs A LOT और money to outbid for the restaurant, she decides to किस him but when she leans closer, she gets overly creeped out and squirms out of it. In order to get it over with, she kisses him quickly and turning into a frog herself. She wonders why he is so much higher than she is, but after seeing green on her hands and looking into a mirror, she is furious that she is now a frog, and lunges a sad Naveen in anger. They get thrown all across the room and eventually out of the room, where they avoid being hit द्वारा a drummer, and everyone. They hop on a floating balloon, and float away. The अगला time we see them, she just found out that Naveen went to the shadow man, and yelled at him द्वारा it. He says that Doctor Facilier was very charismatic, and she says to herself that this is what she gets for wishing on stars and the only way to get what आप want is through hard work. He सवालों why does a princess have to work hard. Tiana tells him that she is not a princess but a waitress, which pisses him off because she "lied to him". He thought she was a princes because of what she was wearing (he clearly did not look at what the others wore when he came in and lef the lot), which she angrily responds "it was a costume party" and calls him a spoiled rich boy. He says that he has the last laugh because he is completely broke, which pisses her off. The balloons that they were holding popped and they fell into a swamp. She yells some और and Naveen tells her that be intends to be rich after marrying Charlotte, but is not going to give it to Tiana because she is a waitress, दिखा रहा है that he is classist (but has no problem with screwing and leaving them).They run from birds and alligators, and she finds a घर in a पेड़ to sleep. Naveen asks her to help him escape from the alligators but refuses until he tells her he will go through his promise to her. So they are both at the hole and he tries to get with her, but fails. So at this point, Naveen is clearly attracted to her, but does not think much of her as a person; only a low class waitress, while Tiana is frustrated at him for putting her in the situation and that he is a classist. I do not think they hate one another, but are frustrated with the situation they found themselves in and the fact that they clash a bit.


So it is the अगला morning, and Naveen is still asleep. Tiana is outside making a बेड़ा for them to go back to New Orleans, telling him to "wake up sleeping beauty". He comes down and all he does is play a spider-webbed विभाजित करें, विभक्त करें branch like it is a guitar, annoying her, as she could use some help. The lazy prince thinks this means to play faster, and he does this, which gets the attention of Louis. They see the alligator still traumatized from what happened last night, and hold one another for protection. This could be a sign that they are a bit attracted to their bodies and are comfortable enough to go to each other for safety; I could just be over-analysing this. Louis says he knows that song, and the two end up playing for a bit. Tiana tells them that they need to go and it was nice to meet him, but he wants to come with them so he can be human as well. He tells them about Mama Odie, and this leads to "When We're Human". The two seem to have a bit of enjoyment and fun in the swamp while they are singing, but I have noticed that she gets extremely mad when he is with the तितलियों (and whenever his playboy-ness is mentioned या seen, which I will go into later), saying that he is married. I think it is और than that, but I will explain later. We already know what the twos' dreams are, and Louis is not the ones being analysed here, so it does not matter. After the song ends, they are hungry and Naveen wants to eat the fly, while Tiana is not; this could also be symbolism for Naveen willing to try new things, while Tiana is not. He accidentally catches a piece of wood and gets hit द्वारा it, causing her to laugh. Suddenly her frog instincts come in which she tries to prevent, and both are about to eat the same fly, but their tongues are टैंगल्ड together and both want out. Louis tries to help, but makes the knot even worse, so eh leaves to get a stick. रे passes them द्वारा and sees that "boyfriend and girlfriend gets carries away", which both protest to. She says that everything is Naveens' fault, while he कहा that he actually had some fun before they got tangled. रे untangles them, and after they tell him that they are going to Mama Odie, he tells the two that they are heading the wrong way. When Louis returns with a stick, both Tiana and Naveen are a bit upset and annoyed about him. this section shows that their hate या immense dislike to one another is fading away, and they are starting to tolerate one another. So, kind of like acquaintance आप are stuck with.


Louis says that he got confused द्वारा it all, and रे calls his family to help them out. There is a BUNCH of them. They start playing music, and Tiana happily grabs Naveen to follow her. If she hated या did not have at least a little bit of a crush on him, she would not have been so happy to grab him to come with her. "Rolling Down the Bayou" is exactly that. They hop along happily together and look at one another during the entire song, but it is not really that obvious. They end up across the bayou and say goodbye to Ray's family. रे soon starts to talk about Evangeline and how he loves her, which Naveen responds saying that he should not settle down too soon, which upsets Tiana and makes her storm off. I do think it is और than the fact that he is intending to marry चालट, चार्लोट, शेर्लोट LaBoeuf, but she has some unrealized feelings for him. She is never और upset than whenever his playboy-ness comes off, that it seems like she resents him; आप know those types that keeps it all to themselves. He has this urge to follow her and says to her that he finally knows her problem; she is a stick in the mud. She sharply turns around, which causes him to fall saying that he is a lazy, philanderer. Tiana goes on about how she had to work 2 jobs her entire life and had to earn everything she has had, while he has been chasing chambermaids and sucking on a silver spoon. He then gets captured द्वारा the frog catchers. Tiana dodges them for a while but eventually gets caught. After Naveen is set free द्वारा Ray, he sees Tiana stuck and decides to save her (yes, he was actually productive for once). They have fun messing with the frog catchers, and he laughs at hat she कहा to them. He tells her that she is not a complete stick in the mud, and they share a friendly moment. Tiana starts to prepare to make dinner, while Naveen is expecting to be served, but that is not what is going to happen. she gets hium up and tells him to mince the mushrooms, while she gathers food. He does not really know how to do it, but is helped द्वारा Tiana, which he blushes to. While he was mincing, he starts talking about how his life in Maldonia was fun, but then he realized that he could not do anything for himself. She feels sorry for him and tells him that he is a decent mincer, and they share another laugh about him working at her restaurant. The four of them eat, and complements her द्वारा saying she has a gift, causing her to blush. रे then sings about Evangeline, causing Naveen to feel romantic and picks her up to dance. She pushes away a few times because she can not dance, which she says in embarrassment. He still pulls her closer and says that he can teach her. They dance for a while, and almost किस but she realizes that he is to be married to her friend, and ends it द्वारा saying चालट, चार्लोट, शेर्लोट is lucky, to the sadness of them both. Naveen gets taken द्वारा the Shadow Demons, but gets saved द्वारा Mama Odie. So it is clear that Tiana had unrealized and hidden feelings for him, which is why she got so mad. They are obviously in love, but here is a big example of how the execution is not smooth and rushed. They should have shortened the time where they did not like each other, and focused on them being acquaintance/friends a bit more.


They go t Mama Odie's home, and they are told what they need in their lives; Naveen needs self control, while it is not really that clear as to what Tiana needs, but it has been hinted at before hand. Naveen keeps on looking at her longingly, which she tries to ignore, दिखा रहा है she hides her feelings. So when they are looking at the cauldron, Mama Odie tells them that Naveen needs to किस चालट, चार्लोट, शेर्लोट before midnight because she is somehow the princess of Mardi Gras. They get on the नाव to New Orleans in early morning, and she almost falls, but us caught द्वारा Naveen. She asks him if he is going to शामिल होइए her and Ray, but he tells her that he will come later, planning to propose to her. Okay, आप two have been in प्यार for 12 hours, but were ripping each other's heads off for a full दिन beforehand? Oh goodness. Naveen vents to Evangeline about having the courage to tell Tiana that he loves her and ants to marry her, which upsets रे who was right there. He reassures रे that he is in प्यार with Tiana and wants to marry her, causing रे to become extremely happy. Later on in the evening, him and Tiana go to the चोटी, शीर्ष surface of the नाव to have a romantic dinner, which she is touched द्वारा because no one has ever done that for her before, which he justifies as celebrating their last night as frogs. She blushes after seeing a तितली as his bow tie. So after he seated her, she is shocked that he minced all द्वारा himself. He lets her that she has had a big influence on him, which no other girl has ever done. He tries to grab the ring, but us a nervous wreck and makes a mess. He is embarrassed, but she tells them that it is cute. She sees her restaurant and starts talking about it. When she mentions "our food", this gives him hope to propose to her, but us then uninspired when she meant her father. He then says that he will do anything for her dream to come true, and as he leaves, he is kidnapped द्वारा the Shadow Demons once again. She vents to Evangeline about not knowing what she wants anymore. So they reach New Orleans, and is Mardi Gras. रे tells her that he wanted to propose to her, and runs to look for him in excitement, but sees "him" and चालट, चार्लोट, शेर्लोट about to wed. She is crushed (even though it is no correct, which रे even mentions), but her feelings take over and says some cruel things to him. रे gives Tiana the talisman that Facilier needed, but he finds her and gives her an allusion of her dream, so she can give him the talisman. She realized that her dream would not be complete and she has what she needs, eventually breaking it and causing Facilier's death.They go to Charlotte, and she tells her that Tiana found love, and that she will do it with no marraige required, but it is too late. As रे is dying, the couple runs to him and tells him that they are staying at frogs.


They go back to the swamp to have a funeral for Ray, and sometime ges married. I guess they did this because there was nothing else to do. Them marrying makes Tiana a princess, thus the spell is broken. Tiana grabs his कमीज, शर्ट and says he kissed himself a princess, and Naveen says he is going to do it again. The scene shifts to their wedding in New Orleans, with their family and friends. They give the Fenner brothers और than enough money, and brings Louis to intimidate them, and it was ALL Tiana's money, since I highly doubt Naveen keeps his money in cans. They rebuild the building themselves from bottom up and when Tiana's Palace finally opens, they are extremely happy and dancing to "Down in New Orleans Reprise", and thus their happily ever after.

Final Thoughts
My final thoughts about Tiana and Naveen is that while they do have some nice, believable moments of love, and do have chemistry, they kind of suffer from the same problem that link suffer from, as it kind of comes out of nowhere. It could have been fleshed out better, so I do not know if they are as deep in प्यार as they think, but there is something there. There are worse couples in the canon, as we know why they like one another, and have conversations about themselves and other things.

Swanpride recommended Bernard and Bianca next, which will cover BOTH The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under, so that one will probably take longer to write up. Siiseli recommended Kida and Milo after, so both will be पोस्टेड in the डिज़्नी club. I will ask for recommendations when I post the Milo and Kida article.
