The dreamy melody filled the room. She could have continued playing forever, tapping each key to sing a specific note. But like all great things, the seemingly endless Claire de Lune was nearing its end. She played out the last measure, holding the last note. She waited for it's last breath to fade before lifting her hands from the keys. "How was that?" she asked, nervous of the response she would receive.
"Excellent, Emily." Emily Weston, formerly known as Project Immunity, turned on the piano's bench to face her teacher.
Jasper sat आगे on the couch, his head resting in his hands; his eyes shut.
"Sleepy?" Emily asked.
Jasper shook his head slowly. "Got a headache," he कहा without opening his eyes. He sat up and laid his head back against the velvety cushions.
"Maybe आप should rest," she suggested.
Jasper shook his head. "Comes with the telepathy. I'll be fine in a moment.
Emily hesitated a moment, but stood and walked behind the couch.
"What are आप doing?" Jasper asked, hearing her light footsteps.
"Just relax." Emily lightly laid a hand on either side of his head, directly under his hairline infront of his ears. Using two fingers, she pressed delicately on his skin and rotated her fingers in small circles.
After a moment, Jasper leaned into her touch. Emily smiled as a satisfied hum like a purr escape his closed lips. She continued the motion until she felt him relax beneath her fingers.
"Better?" she asked. He nodded, finally opening his eyes. A smile spread across his lips, his murky blue eyes staring blankly at her as if in a daze. Jasper rested an arm on the back of the couch.
"Come here, my little Debussy."
Emily circled back around the sofa and sat beside him. He set his hand on her shoulder and she laid her head on his shoulder.
Emily felt Jasper shift his weight, and she looked up to see his eyes on her. The smile on his lips made her दिल beat just a bit faster. They were so close she caught the scent of नींबू that lingered on his clothing. His red-blonde hair fell into his eyes, and she had to stop herself from moving it back.
Jasper used the hand not around Emily to brush his bangs aside. She blushed, wondering if he had read her mind despite his promise to never use his telepathy on her.
"You're very quite," Jasper said.
"What's there to say?" she replied. He chuckled. and a buzz of electricity seemed to हटाइए through her whole body. Feeling the need to move, Emily pulled her legs up and hugged her knees to her chest.
"You're so beautiful," Jasper said. Her blush depended.
"You can't even see me," she argued.
"But I can hear you. And आप sound beautiful. And sweet."
Emily was at a loss of words. "So- so are you. I mean- आप look- you're very..." She trailed off.
"I'm sorry," Jasper said, removing his hand from around her. "I didn't mean to make आप uncomfortable. You're just... God, if I could see आप just once." His voice was strained, as if his inability to see her was a physical pain. He shook his head. "I'm sorry-"
He stopped when Emily pressed her lips to his. She broke the connection after a second.
"Oh my God," she exclaimed, horrified द्वारा the impulsive act. "I am so sorry-" But Jasper put a hand beneath her chin and kissed her back.
Warmth spread through her body, and her wings ruffled with the sudden adrenaline. She relaxed and her eyes fluttered shut. She pressed her hands to his chest and he rested his hand not cupping her chin on her hip. Neither took notice as the apartment door opened and a third party entered the room.
"Oh jeez," Nic said, "Do आप have to do that in the living room? I mean, really man, come on. I was gonna watch the Mets game on that couch."
Jasper pulled back just a bit. "Should we leave him to watch his game?" he asked breathlessly. Emily only shrugged and leaned back into the kiss.
Jasper scooped Emily into his arms bridal style and stood, not breaking the connection. She put her arms around his neck and he slowly made his way to the Emily's (formerly Aryess's) room.
"Thank you," Nic yelled after them.
Jasper kicked the door shut, ignoring Nic's टिप्पणी दे on how there were too many girls on the squad.
