Katherine Pierce (born Katerina Petrova) is a vampire from the Salvatore brothers' past in 1864 and the main antagonist of the first 7 episodes ofThe Vampire Diaries in Season Two. She had compelled Stefan to drink her blood, and Damon did it willingly and they got shot while trying to save her from being taken to the tomb to be destroyed. It was later revealed that she created most of the tomb वैंपायर and later sent her फ्रेंड्स and family to their deaths just to fake her own.
This character is a member of the Pierce Family.
Early Life
Katherine's human life is vague other than that fact that she was born somewhere in Bulgaria around 1475 and born into a wealthy family who then disowned her due to her having a illegitimate daughter in 1490. Her दिया name is Katerina Petrova (Cyrillic: Катерина Петрова) and was turned into a vampire द्वारा Rose in 1492 in England after she was exiled out of Bulgaria द्वारा her family. She had her name anglicized possibly after coming to the United States.
It had been insinuated द्वारा Damon that she was pregnant, carried the child to term and gave birth to a healthy girl before she was turned. This was later confirmed and it was shown that her daughter was taken सेकंड्स after her child was born, leaving her devastated.
She was the first Petrova doppelgänger and was supposed to be sacrificed to break the sun and moon curse in 1492, but escaped and became a vampire after hanging herself. Originally, she tried to commit suicide द्वारा stabbing herself with a knife, but Rose force fed her some of her blood to heal her. so she could take her to Klaus, but when Rose turned her back, Katerina hung herself with a length of rope. Later, when she returned to Bulgaria, she discovered that her entire family had been slaughtered द्वारा Klaus as revenge for her having escaped him.
Katherine met Stefan and Damon Salvatore in 1864, near the end of the American Civil War, when she was staying at their घर in Mystic Falls. She claimed to be an orphan who had लॉस्ट her parents in a fire, and took her handmaiden Emily Bennett with her.
Damon and Stefan fought over her during this time, which sparked their life-long rivalry.
