I like both. Cicadas are annoying but I actually associate them with happy times. Crickets soothe me.

I live in NZ. Right next to bushland. Cicadas are very prevalent here. It's an absolute nightmare when the backyard comes alive with the sounds of cicadas it can be deafening in summer.
