I think it depends, if they're a new user no one knows and they go around just begging people to join, then yes I think it's a little arrogant of them to create one. However if they're an older user and a lot of people know them and are actually interested in them, then I agree with SnowAngel_ it's just a fun way to let people get to know you and share your interests. I have had multiple people ask me to join their fanclubs and I always say no because they're always people I've never heard of and if I'm supposed to join a FANclub for them I should think I should be an actual fan of them.

Nope it is just a place for them to have fun. I accidentally made one for myself, I was trying to see the dimensions of the banners because I wanted to make one so I thought if I tried making a club it would tell me but I never intended to actually publish it. I felt so daft, I should of just asked someone so now it is completely abandoned.

Not selfish but rather narcissistic. I don't get it. You add content you like to the clubs you like. So what's the point of creating a whole other club to add stuff you like? Rather redundant isn't it? Plus, if there isn't a club for a certain subject you can create one or you can add that content here in the Random Club. And the idea that the club is for socializing doesn't make sense to me either. That's what walls, forums and messaging is for. And if someone wants to get to know the things you like, I'm sure a glance through your clubs will give them a fair idea- you don't need to create a whole new club dedicated to all the other clubs you like.
