The group made the way back to the inn where they met up with Lydia, who seemed to have been bored to death bunkering down in the inn and instead seemed to have begun playing with Kura with all the loose molted down feathers scatted across the floor, and Leela, who had recently gotten back fro ma scouting mission. From what Leela found out, the group managed to get general information on the state of the nation as it was before the group caught the two of them up on the issues. Finding the idea interesting, and even more so finding herself bored out of her mind from being in the inn for so long, Lydia decided it would be best for them to go as well, especially since the area was reserved.

Shortly after leaving the inn, they made their way over to the public training ground which Zane had booked to just their group. As a massive training ground meant for multiple people, it seemed that it would serve well for the training center for the group.

"This will be some training session huh." Lydia said as they walked up to the counter of the check in desk.

"We are with Zane and the White Knight for the training session." Xavier said to the person standing at the check in counter.

"What was the password they asked for us to establish?" The man at the counter asked.

"Uh... 'No fangirls allowed, Luzon'." Xavier replied.

"Alright. You may go in." The man said before opening the training ground.

"Ah I think the group is here." Jaden commented, leaning up against one of the walls. "Im shocked Luzon wasnt the first one here."

"I did select the training grounds closest to where he lives," Zane remarked. "He really should have been the first to arrive"

London looked over at Erik, who by this point had transformed back to his normal self. The two of them knew quite well what was taking the Luzon so long. "I think we should just wait patiently for him. He doesn't seem the type to go back on his word."

Fi purred. "Oh he definitely seems like the type to follow through."

Lydia looked over at the group, then over at Zane and Jaden. While they did see each other back at the Colosseum, the massive crowds around them made it so it was difficult to interact with them. Now that most of the area was cleared out of any potential people who would react unfavorably to her presence, she lowered her hood and walked over. "Hello you two." She nodded. "Im Lydia Descella Penwalles, daugher of Navar Penwalles and the princess of Gattaria. This is Leela, my body guard." She said, motioning to Leela before holding her hand out to shake.

Jaden raised her eyebrows a bit at the introduction. "Thats more formal than we do here in Terrador. We are just normal people." She said with a combination of a soft amused chuckle. "But Ive never met a princess. Jaden, the White Knight. Nice to meet you too." She said as she took her hand. "And this is my best friend and manager, Zane."

Zane shook Lydias hand next and held it out to Leela, but Leela refused to take the hand and instead turned to the rest of the group, effectively shutting down any chance for Jaden and Zane to talk to her. "Hey you! Erik! You realize this is all basically to get you up to snuff, right? You really think sitting around waiting is the best use of your time? Prepare yourself. Stretch. Crack your neck. Whatever you need to do." Her scolding of Erik ended as quickly as it began before her eyes snapped to London and she barked the same orders at her. London, being unprepared for it, jumped a little and rushed to try and follow Leela's command.

Fi laid down.

Erik jumped himself a bit, having not been ready or expecting such a strong commander like call. "O-oh uh. Yes m-ma'am." He said quickly before finding himself off some space to stretch. Of anything, one of hte things that shocked him the most was that it was from Leela who was mostly quiet all but now. If it was Jaden, he wouldnt had been as shocked, but strangely enough it wasnt.

Xavier looked over at Leela, finding himself somewhat impressed with her commanding ability.

"Good job Leela." Lydia said, patting Leelas head a bit. "I think Ill join in a bit while we wait. Its been a while since Ive properly used my sword."

London shared a look with Erik that said "She's alot scarier than I remembered." Meanwhile, Leela was almost visibly affected by Lydias hand on her head. "Of course, Lady Lydia! I would never stand for such laziness to be shown around you! I'm sure your swordsmanship will be as breathtaking as it always is!"

Zane chuckled quietly and crossed his arms as he looked at Jaden right beside him. "So do you want to stretch, too? Make sure your armor is all limber?"

Soft breathing could be heard from Fi.

Just as Jaden was about to agree to take part in stretching, the door to the training area opened up before Alex with fake sun burns and Clark Kent glasses on came walking in. Almost as soon as he made his way in, he quickly took them off and waved. "Hey everyone. Im Alex Grander - otherwise known as the Luzon." He introduced himself, almost as if his traditional battle suit, whips, and overall appearance did not give it away already. He looked over at Jaden who, with the slight noise of hte door openeing had thrown her helmet on her head, the metal still moving a bit as it stabilized itself on her head.

Zane suppressed a small smile at Jadens reaction and quickly made his way over to Alex. “Welcome, Mr Grander, as you can see, the White Knight is leading them in some pre-training stretches. If you’ll follow me over to the edge of the colosseum, we can put your stuff there.” He said, giving Jaden enough time to get her armor on securely.

Jaden let out a sigh of relief as Zane was as reliable as ever with his quick action to give her time to gather herself together. She took a deep breath to calm herself a bit before latching her helmet on. At this point it really didn't matter since she did promise to speak and it would give away her gender as it is, but it gave her some comfort for the moment. After everything had been secured, he took yet another deep breath before approaching Alex and Zane over in the edge of the Colosseum. She nodded at Zane, her usual silent way of saying 'thanks' while in her armor before holding her hand out towards Alex, finding it automatic and instinctual to remain silent.

"Hey. Nice to finally get your attention." Alex said with a laugh as he took her armor-covered hand and shook it. "I'm the Luzon, but you can call me Alex."

"Jaden." She said simplistically back before turning to Zane, then over to the group. Taking advantage of the short second of initial surprise Alex had, she quickly followed up. "We should get to work. We have limited time."

"Wait wait wait. Jaden is a neutral name but with your voice I have to ask. Are you a woman under that mask or just a very feminine guy?" Alex quickly began to ask.

Jaden seemed to look at him for a few seconds in silence before turning off to the group. "Erik. Xavier. London. You three, come here. Meet our guest." She said, her voice bellowing out directions. She turned to Zane, letting out another sigh. Talking under the mask seemed so unusual. Normally she was completely alright speaking and commanding, but when it came to putting on the mask, after this many years of silence, talking, let alone commanding, felt all too wrong. "Zane, while she won't be participating, can you work with London and her archery? You are pretty good with the details, facts, and analysis of this kind of stuff. I feel you could help her out."

Zane nodded. "Sure think, Jaden," he said as London came walking up with Erik and Xavier. London looked at Alex for a moment before looking over at Zane. It wasn't hard to tell what was on her mind.

"That's fine, I guess, but why exactly is Zane doing it? Wouldn't it be more effective if someone like Leela helped?"

Leela shook her head. "I will be busy assisting Lady Lydia and the others. In addition, you will not be participating so all that you really need is some assistance turning your hunting capabilities into a form of archery that can be used in battle to defend yourself. You asked for their assistance. Do not turn it down thinking you are superior."

"That's not-" London began.

"It's alright, London," Zane said with a smile. "I'm just here to offer suggestions. We'll head over and set up the ranged training equipment on the left side of the field. There are rarely any ranged combatants so the targets might be a little worn and damaged from lack of use, but they should suffice for now."

Fi removed her shoes without waking up and rolled over.

"So uh... Jaden." Alex spoke up, figuring it was best to continue focusing on what she wanted. He didn't think it was really possible, but strangely enough her actually speaking gave her more of a commanding and intimidating atmosphere. "Whats the plans from here?"

"Pretty much our goal is to get Erik, him, up to par with competition levels. He has some good experience in combat from what I've seen thus far, but he doesnt have the style down enough and still has holes in his movements." Jaden explained. "So with that, him and Xavier are going to spar off, then me and you will exchange focuses on working with him until we can get him to the skill level we like."

Erik looked over at the two of them as they talked, seeming a bit lost in the plans before letting out a sigh. He loved fighting, he loved combat, and this chance to learn with the tops of the top combat nation was a blessing by all means, but naturally he had to wonder if he took a bit more off than he could chew.

Xavier put a hand on Erik's shoulder and chuckled softly. "Dont stress about it. Youll get through it and you have experienced teachers. Ill make sure they dont forget to give you breaks."

Erik jumped a bit as Xavier walked up behind him. "Oh. Hi Xavier." He said as he realized that it was just Xavier.

A couple hours passed before Jaden clapped her hands before calling out. "Alright everyone. That is two hours, take some time to get a good break, rehydrate. We will continue in fifteen minutes and continue training until lunch time. My dad has us all special meals being prepared."

"Thank goodness." Erik said, with a sigh of relief before wiping some sweat off his brow. It was only two hours - shorter than some of his old training sessions in the dojo and all - but it was much more tiring than he was used to. With that being said, it was expected since he was the focus of everyone's attention and they were in the jock nation being trained by two of the best fighters and a general. Even so, his body was still exhausted as it was. Unfortunately, there was still another hour and half after the break until lunch, then a few more sessions afterwards... It was going to be a long day.

"Hey Erik!" Alex waved. "Keep up the good work. You show good potential." He said energetically, almost as if what they had just done was nothing more than a basic warm up.

Tiredly, Erik gave Alex a thumb up before heading over to the side of the training area where there was a container of water bottles set down. He then grabbed one, cracked open the cap, and drank it straight through before putting it to the side. He then grabbed another one, started drinking it until he got a quarter way through. From there, he seemed to stare at it for a second or two in contemplation before lifting it over his head and quickly rotating it down above him as to have all the leftover water pour over his head.

No sooner had Erik finished pouring the water on his head when a soft towel was presented in front of his eyes. The holder of the towel was none other than Zane. "Hey there. You look like you're starting to get used to it." Zane was completely normal, not even sweating from the sun.

"If you say so." Erik said, taking the towel before drying his head and hair off a bit. "I dont know how you guys do it. Its warmer than both Gattaria and Pendallan here yet you all do all this stuff like its nothing."

“You get used to the heat,” Zane said with a chuckle. He made a motion to ask if he could sit down and after getting the say-so, he sat down and smiled at Erik. “Alex is right though. You’re doing great. All of you are. London has some of the best natural talent as an archer I’ve ever seen. The adults are just terrifying and the other girl, Fi...well shes always interesting”

"If thats what you want to call her. Be careful though. I'm not sure if you are her type, but never accept a drink from her." Erik said. "But yeah, London's been doing this kind of stuff since she was a kid. I don't remember a time when she wasn't an amazing archer." He added on with a bit of a smile as he looked over at London who seemed to be in a conversation with Xavier. He then turned away as he surveyed the whole training area. "So what about you? What's with you and Jaden?"

Zane seemed a little off at Eriks question as he replied. "Huh? W-what do you mean? Jaden and I have been friends practically from birth. We've always been together." He turned his head to look in the distance where Jaden was being heckled by Alex and a small smile formed on his lips for a second. "and of course I'm her manager so we've also got a professional relationship which is nice in its own way."

"Heh." Erik let out quietly seeming to form a slightly amused look. "Childhood friends. Thats always nice." He said as he looked away from Zane and back out at the training arena. "But I must say, professional and platonic cant be the only thing in the waters between you two. At least on your end, that is." He said before grabbing another water bottle and opening it up to drink.

"So so so!" Alex said, bouncing over towards Jaden now that break time had begun. "So! Jaden right?"

"Yes?" Jaden replied with a bit of a sigh.

Alex clapped his hands together. "Can I pretty pleaaasssee ask to see under that helmet of yours? I promise I wont tell anyone anything." He begged. "I know how important a character image and audience appearance is."

Jaden paused for a bit, as if contemplating if she really should or shouldnt before sighing as she went to undo the latches that kept her helmet on. Slowly she took it off and held it off to the side. "See. Female. Happy?" She asked, sounding a bit annoyed before sighing. "Sorry. I don't mean to be rude. I'm not used to this and..." She scratched her head a bit. "Talking to colleagues is more of Zane's forte."

Alex quietly let a 'wow' to himself before smiling. "Thats honestly even more impressive though. Women dont really get into these sports too often. Props to you." He chuckled.

Zane flustered some more and was going to deny it yet again, but something in him didn't want to. It was pretty obvious at this point that Erik knew the truth. It made sense for that Xavier guy to figure it out because he was an empath, but it was strange that Erik was able to figure it out. As far as Zane knew, the only other person aware of it was Jadens father when he had pulled Zane aside to talk to him about what his intentions with Jaden were. Jaden definitely had no clue as she had possibly the worst poker face in all of Terrador. "It's...a little more complicated than that."

"I don't know," Zane started out by saying. "You've seen Jaden in action. She's incredible, but at the same time, she forces herself to do this because she wants to support her father since he's no longer capable of fighting. She puts herself in harms way and risks becoming an outcast if her identity were to ever be revealed...I can't let her find out how I feel. It would be too much of a burden to her. Even if she finds someone else..." Zane paused and looked up to the sky. He seemed to be in thought or maybe he was remembering something. "I'm a corpse," he finally muttered under his breath. "and I can't tell her...I love her...until I bring myself to life."

"Huh." Erik muttered out as he spoke, looking over at Jaden for a bit before sighing, standing up, and lightly hitting the back of Zane's head. "Don't let someone else take your place so easily." He said rubbing his nose lightly. "Im sure you are special to her at least in some manner, other wise she wouldnt have kept you close this long but then again, I am no one to talk as I havent really made a step closer either." He shook his head before cracking his neck a bit, figuring there was only a few minutes before break was over. "I say do what you need to do, but if you really plan on reaching her at some point, you are going to have to figure your way out and stick to it."

Zane was a little shocked by the pain of the smack before recovering and looking at Erik, then at Jaden, and then finally down at the ground. Then, as if making up his mind about something, Zane stood up. "Thanks, Erik. That kind of helped. You should do some stretches before getting back to it." he said before heading off towards where London was taking her break with Fi.

London waved at him as Fi nibbled on a piece of hard bread London had presented to her. "Hey there, Zane. Ready to get even more impressed? I think we should move the targets back more."

Zane shook his head. "I'm afraid I'll be a bit busy for the rest of the day. You can carry on practicing with the targets right where they are and if you get bored, simply go ask Leela for some assistance." and with that, he turned around and left the pouting London behind.

Xavier was also getting ready to resume Eriks training when Zane tapped him on the underneath of his shoulder blade as he couldn't reach Xavier's shoulders.

"Alright." Erik said before watching Zane's expression seem to change a bit as he moved off. He smiled a bit as he began to stretch his arms, seeming to perk up a bit hearing London's voice in the distance a bit where he looked over, managing to catch eye contact with her for a brief moment where he gave her a small wave before he resumed his stretches.

Xavier turned around toward Zane, quickly seeming to notice. "Oh hey Zane. Whats up?"

Zane figured it would be better to just come out and say it right away. "I want you to train me. Jaden and Alex can handle Erik. I want you to teach me how to fight."

Soon enough the day passed through. By the time dinner time rolled around, Erik had found himself laying on the floor, almost reluctant to get up regardless of how tired he was after such a long and extensive training session. It even took London a decent amount of time to get him up.

However, once they ate dinner, they had their own free time. For Erik, he quickly found a bed and seemed to fall asleep almost instantly, while Xavier and Alex, who seemed to have enjoyed the day, decided it would be nice to check out the nightlife of Terrador. The two of them had invited Jaden, but naturally, she rejected, claiming it wasn't her kind of thing and that she would rather get rest before the next training session tomorrow.

Shortly after dinner, she returned to her room where she got into her more comfortable clothes of loose shorts and a loose tank top and got up on her bed to read one of her books. It was a strange hobby in a nation so built around strength, but she enjoyed it. Reading always brought a new world and personally, she found that it was underrated. She let out a small yawn, causing her to look at the time. "Huh... A few hours had passed. I didnt notice." She said to herself.

Zane was in a similar position to Erik. While he didn't have Jaden, Alex, Leela, and Lydia all hounding him for training, in a way Xaviers one on one session was just as difficult. It definitely showed that Xavier was a general and well deserved of that title. From the beginning of the training to the time that Jaden called an end to it for the day, Xavier didn't let up for a second. Even when Zane collapsed in exhaustion, Xavier would just yank him back up and put him right back to work.

After dinner, Zane was tempted to pass out exactly like Erik did, but somehow despite being exhausted to the breaking point, Zane wasn't tired in the way of requiring sleep. And it was that restlessness that led him over to knock on Jadens door.

Jaden perked her head up from her book at the sound of the knock. "Come in." She said as she laid her book down on her bed as she looked over who it was. She figured it was either her dad or Zane since Xavier was out of the house, Erik was asleep, and London kept to her own actions. The only other person who it could be who she didnt want in her room was Fi but... she could take the risk.

Zane entered the room and gave her a wave. "Hey there, J. Bad time?" He didn't need to ask as he knew well enough that at this time she had been contemplating possibly closing up her book and going to sleep. It was a good conversation starter though.

"Its alright. I just finished up the chapter anyways." Jaden said as she let out another yawn. "I was thinking of getting some sleep in a short while but I'm not that tired. Whats up?"

I know you were not very keen on the idea of exposing your identity to the Luzon, despite us both believing we could trust him and you aren't usually the outspoken leader type." Zane made his way forward, moving a little more slowly than he normally would due to being sore from Xavier's training.

"Me..?" Jaden asked, a bit shocked by the concern. She smiled lightly and shook her head. "Don't worry about me. I'm fine, its just odd and awkward for me thats all. Something about these guys makes me like them and I was bound to have to let him know my identity at some point. I'm alright with it all." She looked over, her brow furrowing a bit in concern as she sat up and patted on her bed as to offer him a seat. "Besides, you dont look the best yourself you know."

Zane chuckled at her response and sat down on the bed beside her. He winced as he did so because of a sharp pain that ran up his sciatic nerve. "Nah, I'm just a little sore. it's my own fault for not keeping up on exercise. Turns out I wasn't prepared for an actual day of physical work. Heh." He looked over at her with his typical smile. "I know what you mean about the others. They have a certain charm. Even the one you clearly don't like."

Jaden made a silent 'if you say so' expression towards Zane's last sentence. "Dont strain yourself though Zane. Physical combat isn't too much of your thing. You could get hurt." She said looking over at him. "I do have to wonder though. Whyd you suddenly start training though?"

“Well clearly Im trying to impress The Luzon. I havent actually had a chance to talk to him too much and Im really hoping he’ll notice. After all, hes very famous” Zane said with a laugh, but after seeing Jaden was not amused, he sighed. “Honestly it isnt anything important. I simply am fascinated by Xavier. As a general from Pandallan and an empath, he has a unique insight into certain topics”

Jaden didn't buy into the first answer at all, only seeming to let her concerned demeanor down a bit as he gave his second reasoning. With that she let out a slight sigh of relief. "Well I suppose you are right. He interests me quite a bit too to be honest. You don't really meet too many empaths in your life - let alone ones that can fight like he can." She said. "But really, be careful please. I really don't want to see you getting hurt. Its part of why I love my strength. You and dad don't have to worry as much." She added on, giving Zane a light smile. "Do you need bandaging? Itll probably help, at least with your legs."

Zane waved her off. "I'm fine, Jaden. I'm not a cripple. Besides...maybe one day you won't have to be fighting in order to provide for your dad and I. Maybe in the future, things will change." he looked away as he finished speaking and absentmindedly rubbed his leg a bit.

"You sure..?" She said softly before smiling a bit and shaking her head. "Perhaps. But even then, I want to let you guys live a great life comfortably. Even if we had enough to not work again, I wouldn't want that. Besides, I don't mind doing this work, even with the risks it comes with."

"But it's not something you should be doing!" Zane burst out suddenly. He seemed to catch himself afterward as what he said next was in a level tone. "I'm not saying I'm worried you'll get hurt. I mean, I am, but that isn't what it is about..." He took another pause to gather what he said next. "If you're so busy protecting me and your father, then it only makes sense that we should protect you in turn."

Jaden seemed a bit shocked from the rise of voice as her face told it all, but as the voice toned down, her expression seemed to relax a bit. She turned off a bit to the side and scratched her head. "I guess you are right about that." She said shyly. "But for now, its what it is Zane."

Over the next couple of days, the training would proceed in almost the exact same form. Zane would assist London with her Archery while Xavier, Alex, and Jaden all focused on Erik, then after lunch, Xavier and Zane would go off to train on their own while London continued her archery practice with Fi. Leela and Lydia generally kept to themselves, training quietly with Leela occasionally heading off somewhere on Lydia's orders. Lydia had her suspicions that the Terrador nation was not running as smoothly as appearances seemed to present and it was that suspicion which had Leela out every night gathering intelligence. The majority of the intel Leela gathered was basic stuff, information about Hal and his closest subordinates, but nothing about the gem.

Nothing until tonight. Leela had been watching the area all night and witnessed multiple people who did not seem to be ordinary dim-witted Terrador citizens entering and leaving. They seemed more into the sciences than combat. Why would a nation well known for lacking in IQ and only caring about fighting each other need scientists or studies? Could this be what that asshole Xavier had been talking about? Could the Terrador gem be fading just as the Pandallan one is...As far as she knew the gem back home was fine, but that was more Navar and Dorris' forte.

Quietly, Leela proceeded to sneak into the building. Lydia had advised her to avoid any and all conflict so if she got caught, she would have to find a way to do it without excess fighting.

Deeper and deeper Leela went until eventually she found the heart of the complex and exactly what she was looking for. The gem was in this room. It was clearly being analyzed. Out of what seemed to be the poorly lit circular scaffolding above where the gem rested in its decor, a quick knife flung out towards Leela, one of which that was so precisely aimed that, if she didn't do anything, it would nicely land right through the jugular. "Hmph. I don't recognize your face nor do you look like one of us." A woman's voice echoed from up in the scaffolding. If one looked closely, they could see some long blonde hair handling from the railing that she seemed to be sitting on. Some fanboys and fangirls on the history of Terradian combat would easily notice her as the past Bloodsoaked Prince and now Scarlet Princess Alice.

Quickly she dropped down from the scaffolding, landing elegantly onto the ground almost as if the height was nothing. "But I do commend you. If it wasn't for Hal's grasp on his dominion, I don't think anyone would have noticed you. You must be a skilled spy. Who do you work for?"

Leela watched the mysterious lady out of the corner of her eye. The knife she caught between her fingers didn't bother her. It felt more like a greeting than an outright threat. "Is that so. Well I must return the sentiment. You almost managed to hide yourself completely from me. What kind of work do you do for Valdemar?"

"Well thank you. I put work into that skill of mine." Alice said, resting one of her hands on her hips. "I don't imagine you accidentally walked in here if you got this far without any of the guards catching you. Whats your purpose here with the gem?"
