"If I want to live..." Dirk closed his eyes partially out of reflection but primarily because he physically couldn't keep them open any longer. "I think that is the crux of this. My first lie was about my upbringing. I was actually born to quite a large amount of wealth my father made with a secret bet he placed on himself when he knew a wealthy Qeacaban merchant was visiting. Using that wealth, I had myself trained by all of the best. I had the best selection of weaponry and I had the best manager. I did this because at the time, I was positive that I would go far in the tournaments. I had stars in my eyes...and sure enough I flattened and humiliated every opponent, but it never accomplished anything. I didn't understand. I had the skill and I put on a show, but they expected me to win. Flawless victories bored them. So I fired my manager. I hired the manager I currently have and we came to an agreement. We created a story. I changed myself, even going so far as to undergo surgery to alter my face. I convinced myself that it was the real me that was the problem. That no one wanted to see a rich kid win. So I became The Unwavering Spear. A man who worked his way from the ground up. Who came from an orphanage and struggled every day to accomplish his dream and make the lives of the unfortunate a little better. All lies."

"See this is what it is about you that confuses me." The manager said, quietly and perhaps a little hesitantly walking forward until she was mere inches away from Zane. She raised her hand, hesitated for a moment, then smiled and put it on his shoulder.

Zane shrugged it off. "What?"

"You understood the logic of what I said. That deep down the people want a show, but you criticized me for my methods...a little cruelly criticized me, I might add. You only took exception when I hinted that you were no better than myself...that Ms Jones was no better." Her smile widened more at Zane's eyes widening. "It doesn't take long for one with the proper research to reach her name once they are aware of her gender."

"And..?" Jaden asked. "Thats your decision and has been for a while. Did you have a sudden change in opinion?"

Seeing the sheer lack of a reaction and response to the kick, even though it did land with full force, Erik's eyes widened slightly as it dawned on him how directly futile continuing like this was. For most, that would have done some decent damage or at least elicited a bit of a reaction, but for Jin here, it just didnt seem to be.

Quickly, Erik pulled back a bit. He could have decided to listen with Jin and watch since there was no point in constantly hitting Jin when they were doing little to nothing, but on the same coin, he wasn't exactly out of options. As much as he did not like it, he still always had his trick card. He hesitated for a second before sighing quietly under his breath. As he did so, he back a bit further up before seemingly darting forward. Part way through his charge forward, he seemed so launch off the ground and, as he did so, seemed to transform into that of a Siberian Tiger, pouncing at Jin with his claws ready.

With the pull of the whip around his calf, Xavier's footing seemed to give out real quick as his leg seemed to slip out from under him. However, before he could loose his footing entirely, he planted his sword, which had just recently recollected itself into the ground as to give him footing to pull his leg free. Taking advantage of the moment where Xavier was open and his sword was not of ready use, Alex quickly closed the distance partly as Oujiwari returned out, going for a fast strike at Xavier while his sword was planted in the ground and not ready to deflect it.

Seeing the whip come his way, Xavier quickly leaped out of the range, abandoning his sword in the ground as to avoid the damage that could have been dealt from such a strong, close range strike from Alex's whip. Alex, finding it quite interesting, placed the handle of Oujiwari in a grip along his belt as he walked over to Xaviers sword, pulling it out of the ground. "Wow." Alex said as he twirled the blade in circles on his side. "Both heavy to deal have a high natural damage force like a long sword, but also nimble and mobile enough to maneuver." He examined, swinging it around. "Now how do you extend-" He asked, just as the blade vanished from Alex's hands, returning and reappearing in Xaviers. "NOW THATS CHEATING!" He shouted with an amused smile. It was clear that Alex, at least for the moment, was focused on the fun of the fight, that to the point he seemed to forget he was also preforming as the Luzon.

"Its a special blade." Xavier chuckled.

"Sudden? Not at all. In fact, I still don't know if I truly see an error in what I did, except that all it amounted to was me running away. My doubts actually started with you..." Dirk both gave Jaden a few moments to incredulously and curiously ask what he meant by that and took those moments to collect himself as he was feeling nauseous again and he did not want to vomit in front of her. "My new persona was just emerging when you arrived on the scene as The White Knight. My manager suggested I watch a few of your battles to get a glimpse of what my new life was going to be like, however, I did not expect to be as awestruck by your fighting style as I was. You put on a show, but you didn't show off. You weren't flashy or extravagant. You were simply...mysterious and that mystery drove the entirety of your character. They fell in love with it and you, quite literally, did not have to say a word. Your story was the lack of a story. It's what I originally wanted...and failed to do...but I had already committed. I was past the point of no return and I-"

At that moment there was a knock on the door as the medic from earlier tentatively called out that they needed to wrap up their conversation for fear of making Dirk's condition worse.

Dirk sighed. "We're out of time. I guess that's what I get for being so long winded. Ironic that I was going on and on about how I love that you go on and on...and that I lov....White Knight. Jaden. Whatever you wish to be called. Your disinterest in this is exactly what I expected and hoped from you. Because we are alike."

"What do you want?" Zane asked.

"You assume I want anything...and while it isn't untrue, I do find the accusation a little amusing." The manager closed the distance even more. "You called me out on what you thought I was doing wrong. Your reasoning was ridiculous, yet it was the passion in your voice that spoke to me more than your words. See, we Nyssian people...we're very in tune to impassioned outbursts. Some would accurately say that it affected our policies in a negative way, what with the rather strict laws, and yet we still each claim to carry a fire within us that cannot be quelled by mundane means." She was now so close that her impressive chest was gently pressing into Zane's back. Zane himself seemed to be frozen in either fear or guilty excitement. "What you said rocked me to my...core. It's the first time my fire has flared in well over a decade and while you're a little bit young, there is no age limit on love...or lust in some nations."

Jin's eyes widened and while he dodged the tigers strike with plenty of time to spare, he was indeed caught off guard by Erik for the first time. Taking two quick hops to give himself a little bit of distance, Jin examined the beast in front of him. He had to do it quick as it likely would not stand around for him to organize his thoughts. He would have to get everything he needed before the tiger landed. Luckily, Erik was the type to go a little overboard so he had transformed into what could easily be called the perfect specimen of a Siberian Tiger. It was built for the perfect balance of speed and power and its size was just large enough that it could compare be imposing. What this told Jin was that Erik had no exploitable flaws in his transformation except for the ones that came naturally to four legged animals. And then the tiger landed and Jin prepared himself for combat.

"Focus on living then." Jaden said as she pushed herself off of the wall that she was leaning against. "Maybe when you recover we can be friends. Good luck." She finished as she passed by the medic and put on her helmet before heading out the door. "Hey Z-" She said quietly, pausing a bit in shock at not only the fact that Zane was not the only one there as she expected, but also the sight that was laid out in front of her. "HEY!" Jaden shouted as she quickly stormed over to the two, grasping the manager by the collar of the provocative shirt she was wearing and, as she did so, pulled her off of Zane. "What do you think you are doing to him? Huh?! Do you really think thats appropriate?" She snapped, seeming to either ignore or forget that she was still representing the White Knight in the armor she was wearing.

Erik let out a loud roar as he seemed to slowly walk in a small arc around Jin, the two of them tracking each other's movements. Out of both habit and instinct, Erik's teeth were bared outwards as he moved. After a second or two of moving, Erik's body turned sharply and rapidly as he, with a small leap, attacked Jin, aiming to strike his bite into Jin's side, while using his massive paws to attempt to knock him down to the ground.

Many, including Zane, would not have believed that the Manager could have turned off the lust in an instant like that, but she did. Her eyes were now focused solely on Jaden and she had a cocky smirk on her face. "Oh dear. I do apologize. I was under the impression that young Zane here was available four courtship. I must have made a mistake. It simply did not occur to me that he and you carried on more than a professional relationship."

"W-we don't!" Zane said. "Jaden and I don't have feelings for each other that way."

Jin showed no reaction at first until Erik was at the apex of his jump and started to come down. Quickly, Jin did two quick rotations, one which got him out of the range of Erik's attack and the second to bring him back in and underneath the beast. Pressing his hands against the belly of the tiger, Jin gave it a shove to cause it to land on its back and take a fair bit of damage in the process.

"Its not even about that." Jaden huffed, releasing her grip on the Manager's shirt, pushing him back a bit. "It is not appropriate for you to be flaunting yourself and distracting my manager in the middle of public, especially without consent. Anyone with a civilized brain would be able to figure that out." She lectured seeming to glance back at Zane for a second before turning back at the Manager. "I have half a mind to knock some manners into you but I have too much of a schedule to fill to deal with that. Keep yourself out of both of our lives and put on some clothes and I wont have to beat the crap out of you."

Erik let out a grunt as he, in his tiger form, got flipped on his back. However, almost as soon as he landed, his form seemed to shift once again to that matched Jin's appearance exactly all except he seemed to be a subtle inch taller. With him shifting into his new form, he rolled over on his back and then onto his feet where he then lifted his fists into the air in front of him. It seemed that he had actually come to find his fun in the fight as Jin's stoic face, when worn by Erik, seemed to instead be a playful smirk. He stood there for just under a second before quickly closing in and going for an upper cut.

Alex let out a slight huff as Xavier stole the blade back, slowly grabbing Oujiwari again. "Fine then." He said as he tightened the grip on both his whips. Shortly after doing so, Alex quickly struck Himewari down against the ground multiple times, rapidly kicking up dust and dirt that seemed to cloud the area around him, and even a bit around Xavier, obscuring view and quickly causing Xavier to raise his left hand up to shield his eyes.

"Whats this?" Xavier chuckled, tightening his grip on his blade before lowering his arm as he closed his eyes. "Dirt like this cant be good for either of us." He said, keeping his eyes shut before hearing quick movements coming from behind him. As he heard it, he quickly whipped around, his sword extending and following with; however, as he did so, Alex seemed to be following from the right in a similar yet opposite arc. With neither particularly blocking, both strikes hit each other directly in the head and both nicely dispelling most of the dust and dirt that was kicked up.

The two of them stumbled a bit, catching themselves as they reconnected their eye contact with one another. For Alex, the sword whip seemed to tear a nice gash into his ear and a shallow, but still present cut into the side of his head, while the force and threading of Oujiwari on Xavier seemed to have left a decent wound on the side of Xavier's head, that of which seemed to have started bleeding enough that it was noticeable. "Surviving a direct headshot from Oujiwari, impressive. Most pass out." Alex complimented

Zane winced at Jaden's words and the slight glance she had at him. The manager, on the other hand, was unphased. "Public? Your match has concluded and you are not scheduled for any further fights for at least a week. At this time, he is no longer your manager as he does not have any managerial duties to fulfill. Unless of course you are insinuating that he has to even get your permission for his personal life. I failed to hear him say no. That's because he didn't, and frankly from the bits I was feeling, "no" was the last thing on his mind. You can, as you so crudely put it, "beat the crap out of me" but I'm afraid that all that will accomplish would be you forcing my hand at lodging an official complaint. A complaint that would have to be taken seriously considering the drama surrounding you and The Unwavering Spear right now. I imagine after that, I wouldn't be the only one well aware of who you are and what your situation is." and with that, the manager turned her back on Jaden, winked seductively at Zane, and began to walk away from them. However, she only made it a few feet before a loud crack was heard. A crack that sounded like a thunderclap, yet the windows revealed nothing but blue skies. "What on earth..."

Yet again, Jin didn't move, but this time the punch seemed to do something as the uppercut connected and Jin was knocked off of his feet and onto the ground, eliciting several shocked gasps from the few members of the audience that were not focused solely on Xavier and The Luzon. Jin stayed down for a good ten seconds before very slowly beginning to make his way back to a standing position. Once fully upright, Jin looked Erik up and down, examining the transformation. The extra height was not lost on Jin but he ignored it. This was who Alex was fighting for. An impressive kid, but not impressive enough for Valdemar. Jin sighed, the things he did for Alex. "Very well kid. You have my attention. Now give me yours. Watch closely because this will never again be repeated."

and with that, Jin stretched his hands out as wide as they would go, causing some of the joints to crack a little from lack of real use lately. After holding the position for a few moments, Jin slammed his two palms together, with the tips of his fingers pointing directly upward.

CLAP!

The resulting clap echoed throughout the stadium, causing several more of the audience to focus their attention on him. Jin repeated the action again and again and with each clap, the noise got louder and more ominous...

CLAP!

CLAP!

CLAP!

CLAP!

Until finally, after having repeated it more than thirty times and now having a good half of the audience focused on him, Jin closed his fingers into fists, and slammed them together.

BOOM!

To those not expecting it, it would appear as if actual electricity had sparked from his hands as they created a sound that was practically indistinguishable from that of thunder. This effectively put the entire stadiums eyes on Jin. This was Jin when he was putting on a show. This was Jin back when he lived by his original moniker...Amdusias, The Demon of Thunder, and his signature move "The Devil's Shout"

"H...how did he do that?" London asked shocked. "He can control the weather? That's blatantly not fair!"

Jaden appeared to have an annoyed expression drawn across her face as the manager began to back off, however as the clapping sound rang through the halls, it seemed to vanish and warp into one of curiousity. "Is that?" She muttered to herself. "Of course we are missing the cool thing." She said, quickly running past the manager. "Zane come with me. I want to see this." She said checking behind her as she ran as to make sure Zane was following.

Alex let out a bit of a deep breath, lightly rubbing his hand against the side of his face as to check how much it was bleeding. After seeing it, he appeared ready to make his next move, just as Jin started doing his unique move of sorts as his face seemed to light up with excitement. "YES!" Alex cheered, pumping his fist excitedly. "Jin! This is grea-"

Quickly, while Alex was distracted, Xavier seemed to quickly close the distance between the two of them in the blind spot Alex left open as he focused on Jin's show. By doing this, Xavier quickly managed to land a firm elbow into Alex's gut. "First rule, dont let anything distract you in combat." Xavier said before striking roughly with the rest of his forearm, launching Alex back a bit.

The force of the strike made Alex cough a bit as he slowly skid to a stop. "My apologies." He said, glancing over a Jin for a short moment before shaking his head and looking back at Xavier. As he did so, he grabbed his two whips, throwing them aside. "If Jin's doing something out of his usual, then I will to." He said as he raised his fists up in front of himself.

"Hand to hand? I can do that." Xavier said as his sword vanished. "Lets get some good hits in."

Erik seemed to watch intently as Jin began to do his move, seemingly to be taken be on edge waiting to see what was coming up and, much like everyone else in the stadium, Erik was taken back a bit from it. "What was that.." He muttered to himself, keeping his defensive stance up.

"Oho whats this?" Hal said from above, raising his eyebrows a bit. "The rebellious boy seems to be putting on a bit of a show for once."

"Is that Jin sir?" Xiong asked, leaning over Hal's shoulder looking over at the battle as even he seemed to be intrigued. "I have never seen him do anything before."

"Even you Xiong?" Hal laughed quietly, glancing over at where Alice was sitting.

Xiong nodded as he continued to watch. "Are you considering it, sir?"

"Probably not, but it sure is interesting."

Zane didn't bother to argue with Jaden except to chase after her, yelling that she forgot to put her helmet back on, leaving the manager shaking her head as she watched them leave.

Jin had a cold look in his eye as he spoke up loud enough for everyone in the stadium to hear him. "Right fist, Lower abdomen." and before Erik could even fully have the chance to comprehend what Jin had said, the distance had already been closed as Jin aimed one of his thunderous punches exactly where he said. The lower left part of Erik's abdomen.

The hit landed roughly, both catching Erik a bit off guard and causing a decent amount of pain, that of which combined to cause Erik to jump back in panic, landing on all fours in the form of a grey wolf. Just as he landed though, one paying close attention would see his left hind quarters seem to buckle a bit before returning back to normal as it suddenly seemed to settle in.

It didn't take too long for Jaden and Zane to make their way over to a place that they could at least see what was going on where Jaden seemed to come to a halt, looking down. Given that there were now people around, she didn't speak, but the sight did impress her - both Jin fighting with style and with Erik shifting forms.

Jin didn't press the attack, instead electing to slam his fists together a couple more times, filling the room with thunderclaps. Jin then stamped his foot to the ground, creating another one and while it didn't actually cause the ground to shake, only those with intense mental strength could avoid their brain being tricked into thinking it had. Jin had been staring directly at Erik this entire time, unnerving him more and adding to the mental assault that was taking place as Jin determined exactly how the remainder of the fight would play out. Jin would open with a leap forward to which Erik, while shaky on his feet, would dodge. Jins fist would collide with the ground, resulting in another burst of thunder which by that time, Erik would have been too tired to resist visibly flinching at the sound. Erik was young. He truly stood no chance. Taking advantage of the flinch, Jin would close the distance again, grasping Erik by the scruff of the neck. Attacking him in that form would merely turn the audience away as human beings tend to find themselves disgusted when dogs are harmed. Erik would desperately try to escape and would transform into a creature capable of flight to get as much distance away from Jin as possible and it is that move which would seal his fate. One final thunderclap to his wing and the boy is done, arm broken.

Jin blinked once in finality of his analysis and began. He leaped forward.

Zane gulped. This was weird to see Jin doing this. He hadn't seen Jin put on a show in so long that he had actually forgotten how good at it Jin was.

Just as Jin had expected, Erik seemed to reflexively dodge out of the way of the attack, leaping off to the side and to the right as Jin's attack came in contact with the floor, letting out the loud thunder. Also, just as predicted, the noise did manage to get Erik to flinch enough that it did close up his small window of time that he had to strike while Jin was vulnerable. However, despite closing the time he planned to go in for the strike, it did not cover up his whole reaction time as he managed to shift into what appeared to be a small finch, that of which allowed him to narrowly avoid Jin's grasp. Upon avoiding it, he flew upwards to gain height away from Jin, seemingly trying to catch his focus and energy since, at this point, he was almost responding solely on instinct and adrenaline - something that works well in animal on animal fights, but wouldnt keep him well with a person, let alone someone with a higher stamina than him. It didn't help either that flying often took more energy than most other modes of movement nor did it help that it had been a while since he took the form of a bird. For anyone who knew birds, the way he was breathing made it clear that he was getting worn down. Once getting a decent height away from Jin, he seemed to change into a falcon, his more common and preferred bird, quickly making circles above Jin as he tried to recollect himself.

Jin was impressed. The boy had true spunk to be able to keep control of his faculties like that. He knew of other experienced fighters completely crumbling to the jarring mental strain his thunderclaps provided. Jin had other techniques he could use and some dealt with long range fighters like Erik when he was in bird form, but it wasn’t necessary. “Just give up, boy” he said, his voice still booming. “If you really need this long to recover and figure out your next move then you arent ready. This fight serves no purpose. It isnt even fit to entertain. Give up now befo-“

“DONT GIVE UP!” Came Londons voice from the stands. “KICK HIS ASS ERIK! WE’VE TAKEN ON BIGGER DOUCHEBAGS THAN THIS GUY! “GIVE HIM THE OL FLAP FLAP PECK!”

Jin lookedo er her way. It was truly a feat of incredulity that someone like her existed. She even got Alex involved. Nevertheless, he continued, now speaking quietly but Erik could still hear. “She is right. Dont give in. But surrender this fight. I can tell that you’ve accomplished what we set out to do. Any further will bore him and hurt your chances. Think intelligently”

After hearing London and Jin, Erik seemed to pause for a second before letting out a bit of a caw as his form changed once again to that of the colorful and beautiful peacock. Slowly he elegantly fluttered down back to the ground, flying right past Jin and over towards the edge of the arena near where London was. For a second or two, it seemed like something odd, but soon enough, as each of tail feathers began to rise into the famous peacock display, it became clear. Whether it was a thanks, a joke, or something else was obscure, it was hard to point it out as being towards anyone else other than London.

London watched as Erik did his gesture and when he fanned out his tails, she put her face in her hands and pinched the bridge of her nose. "My god you are such a dweeb. Just go flashily end this stupid fight!"

For the good initial period of the fist fight between Alex and Xavier, the two seemed to be evenly matched. When one was dealt and taken, another one would be returned back. With that being said, it was almost impressive in its own that any notable damage was actually being dealt to Alex's, quite literally, thick skin and, while Alex's attention did seem to occasionally waver towards Jin's flashy show, the tension of the fight seemed to keep his attention drawn in and away from Jin. It didn't take long for the two to have clearly isolated themselves in their own world of combat - just the two of them.

Xavier threw out one kick straight and slightly to the left, then another straight and slightly to the right when Alex, as expected, dodged the first one. Seeing the clear opening formed from the single foot balance, Alex lowered himself before the second kick, as he went to make a quick strike to the knee of the vulnerable leg. Almsot as soon as he did though, Xavier did a slight bounce, both moving his leg out of hte way in the nick of time and shifting his weight over just right before quickly moving in for a third kick, this one rounded instead of snapped.

Having been caught off guard by the nimble movement, Alex had little time to do much more than to bring his arms up to shield from the blunt force of that attack, that of which did hit harder than he would have expected a non-Terrador citizen to strike with. However, taking advantage of the chance, he grabbed Xavier's leg as it struck his arm and quickly pushed it off and away roughly, decently upsetting the balance and thus creating a short frame of which Xavier's actions would be limited. It was clear that Xavier wasnt some rookie to combat, so such time frames were valuable. In this short frame, he quickly pounced upwards from his crouched position and quickly grabbed onto Xavier's shoulder, using it both as yet another way of disrupting Xavier's balance and as a piece to help boost himself higher in a jump where he then quickly locked his thigh Xavier's neck, seemingly ready to flip him.

In fact, it was likely he would have if Xavier didnt seem to suddenly jolt to the right as a verticle cache of knives seemed to fling past them, each of which barely missing both Alex and Xavier as they flew past. Quickly the both of them, Alex still on Xavier's shoulders, shot their glance over where it came from and it didn't take long for the face to be recognized. With the short yet elegant and princess-like scarlet red dress and crimson heels, that of which seemed clearly unfitting for combat, matched with the long flowing tied up blonde hair, it was almost impossible to not recognize the Scarlet Princess, or Alice, standing on the railing that separated the edge of seating area from the arena floor. "All you outsiders waltzing in and acting like its your place." She grumbled. "I'm joining in whether they like it or not." She said with a bit of a huff.

"Is she as big of a deal as I think she is?" Xavier asked in a bit of a whisper to Alex.

"Oh... yes and we might be a bit in danger." Alex replied, quickly getting off of Xavier's shoulders as he quickly grabbed his whips again. "She has her roots in the Death matches."

"Four against one." Alice said as she jumped down from the railing and down to the arena floor ground. "Ill put you in your place."

Meanwhile Erik seemed to turn away from London and over to the woman and red before looking over at Jin as he turned back into his human form, seemingly very confused. "What is going on exactly?"

Jin looked at Alice as Erik asked his question. "No one important. No more games kid, step back and try to stay out of the fight." whatever Jin had been doing to put on a show was now gone as he returned to his ordinary disposition.

"This seems bad..." London said with a slight quiver in her voice.

"Only if the fight actually begins," Leela said. "I'll try to keep an eye on Erik so long as he stays close to our side of the stands."

Seeing everyone ready up seemed to give Alice a bit of a smirk on her face. "Now this will be fu-" She began to speak just before the 'Match Over' sound rang throughout the stadium. "Hey!" She barked angrily over at the referee who seemed to simply raised his hands as to say 'not me'.

"AND THERE WE HAVE IT!" The announcer spoke up, seemingly entirely ignoring Alice's entrance and the fact no real conclusion was drawn from the match. "THE END OF THIS SPECIAL MATCH ENDING IT IN A TIE."

"Hal!" Alice shouted, seeming to look right up at him in his seating area. If the announcer was so nonchalant about ignoring her entrance and it wasnt the referee, there was only one other person with the power and that was him.

Hal chuckled quietly to himself a bit before turning on his microphone. "Sorry my Scarlet Princess, but I have an interest with those four and their friends. We cant be having you hurting them too much, I know you can. You dont have to prove it."

Alice seemed to grumble a bit. "Ugh. Fine!" She huffed as she began to leave the arena, however not before shooting a bit of a glare over at Leela.

Lydia wasn't one to miss that glare and looked over at Leela. ".... what did you do to get her so mad at you?"

Leela looked at Alice as she returned to Hal's side and then at Lydia. "I'm not sure, my lady. Perhaps she simply doesn't like me because I am a Gattarian assassin. At our core, we are polar opposite beings."

"Well, since things are over, it seems we got Hal's attention at the very least." Lydia replied. "We should go meet everyone down."

Jaden watched the scene up until it concluded, seeming, for a short while, to have been drawn into it as her eyes seemed focused and interested in it. When it seemed to be clearly concluded, she let out a bit of amused breath before turning around to head off to the waiting rooms where Xavier and Erik would be, catching glance of Zane as she turned around and, as she did so, her slight smile seemed to vanish.

Meanwhile, Alex, Jin, Xavier, and Erik made their way back to their waiting rooms where they began to cool down and properly treat their wounds. Naturally, like most matches, the two teams split off to their respective rooms.

"So..?" Xavier said as he sat down on one of the benches.

"...so?" Erik questioned, unsure of what he was meaning to ask.

"So how was it fighting Jin over there? You seemed to have actually used your abilities for once." Xavier commented, rubbing the side of his face where he had taken a blow from Alex.

"It was... nice." Erik said as he gripped his hand in front of him. "Actually, almost a bit nostalgic. I think I liked i-"

Just as Erik was finishing up his sentence, there was a knock on the door. "Excuse me, may I enter. I am Xiong, sent from Commander Valdemar." The man spoke from behind the door.

London nodded and stood up. "Come on, Fi. Time to put your leash on."

Fi giggled. "Now now, London. Don't make promises you aren't prepared to follow through on. You all go on ahead. I kinda wanna go explore town since we'll be leaving soon."

Fi's reaction made Londons eyebrow shoot up as this was a weird display from Fi. "Are you sure? You don't wanna go see how hunky this Valdemar guy is?"

"Well that's why I have you. I'm sure you all will give me vivid descriptions." was Fi's response as she waved goodbye and skipped away,

Zane noticed her after she had already begun walking away. "Hey whoa wait up for me!" he called as he hurried to keep up.

Meanwhile, Alex and Jin were in their own room quietly changing. Jin was saying nothing as if the entire thing was just any other day.

Erik and Xavier seemed to be silent for a second as they exchanged glances before Xavier nodded and called out. "You can come in."

"Thank you." Xiong replied quietly as he began to open the door closing it behind him. The interesting thing was, when standing next to Alice and Halenstein, Xiong looked like the average guard and assistant, but when on his own, something about him looked much more different. Maybe it was the height, maybe it was the aura he let out, but there was a tinge of an aura that any new or rookie fighter would find a bit discomforting. "Commander Valdemar appreciated your match and would like to call you, and your group of friends that established the unique fight request, to talk to him personally in about an hour back in his main castle." He said handing over the sealed invitation.

Erik took the invitation, opening the seal that gave the address, stamp, signature, and insignia that made it an official piece. Xavier glanced over at it over Erik's shoulder before turning back to Xiong. "Thank you. I find it interesting you gave it to us rather than the Luzon who put in the request."

"The Commander hasn't forgotten you Mr. Landrin." Xiong said simplistically. "I would recommend you leave soon. The traffic will be congested." He nodded before turning back towards the door. "I have work to return to, have a good day." He said as the door clicked.

As the door clicked shut, Erik turned towards Xavier. "Wait. You already met the guy before?"

Xavier let out a soft awkward chuckle as he lightly scratched the back of his neck. "Aha... I might have..."

Just as Xiong left the room, the group seemed to approach closer to it, just arriving just in time for Xiong to pass right by them. "I think thats promising." Lydia said as they approached the door where she motioned for someone to go ahead and open it.

Just shortly after heading in, the group met and eventually gathered up with Xavier and Erik who, together, gave the rest of the group the information that Xiong gave them. After addressing the details, the group decided to follow Xiong's suggestion and head out early. Exactly as Xiong had predicted, the trip took a while, but nonetheless, they made their way to the main castle, that of which made up Halenstein's home.

When they got to the front of the castle, they showed the invitation to the front guards who promptly let them in. As soon as they got to the front, Xiong stood their waiting for them. "Thank you for coming. Please do not wander freely. It is a private area." He said as he lead them towards Hal's throne room.

"I still don't know why we are even giving them the attention." Alice said with a slight sneer as she walked up to the side of Halenstein's throne. "They are outsiders. We have nothing to give them and nothing that they deserve. Really, I think it would better to kick them out, keeping them around is a security risk."

"Oh we are alright." Halenstein replied, lightly petting the top of her head. "After all, my Scarlet Princess can counter anyone who gets in and kill anyone who gets information they shouldnt."

"I put up with you more than I should." Alice muttered under he breath.

Halenstein simply smiled in response. "Besides, they seem to have a goal in mind. Maybe it will be something interesting."

"Like your assassination." Alice sighed.

"And thats why I have you and Xiong." Halenstein said, crossing one over the other. Just as he did so, the front doors seemed to creak open. "Oh look, here they are."

Slowly the doors opened up as Xiong let them in, staying behind the group as they entered. London, Lydia, Leela, Jaden, Zane, Erik, and Xavier - together they made up quite a large and notable group.

"Oho, so many old faces. Its been a while Lydia... Xavier." Halenstein said, glancing at them before looking over at Zane and Jaden. "And the White Knight and even the interesting child." He said with a light chuckle. "Welcome to my throne room"

Zane avoided Jadens inquisitive look regarding Hal's statement. "We're honored, sir." he said with a light bow of his head. He was the only one who did so, but that was expected. After all, The White Knight, Lydia, and Xavier all were important enough that they didn't need to, Leela seemed to be waiting silently, completely in the role of Lydias bodyguard, and finally Erik and London were looking around the place as if they were slightly overwhelmed by it all.

"Well everyone seems well acquainted." Lydia said.

Hal seemed to simply smile at Zane in his response to them. "With that being said, who are the two unknown faces here?" He said motioning pointing over at Erik and London. "I find it remarkable that I don't recognize people traveling with such powerful big named people in our world. What are you doing in this group of leaders and their close personnel?"

"Huh?" Erik muttered, suddenly being snapped out of his trance of awe. "I uh- I'm Erik and.... London?" He said as if asking her to fill in the words he couldnt find.

London was more than willing to take over. "We're not here by choice. We're from Pendallan and we need to see the gem."

Zane blinked in response to the directness of Londons words. It was pretty clear that she was nervous about the entire thing and was overcompensating. "What she means to say is that they are on an officially sanctioned mission passed to them by the Pendallan government and would like to officially request to view the gem."

Back at the Infirmary, the medics were all crowded in or around Dirk's room as shortly after Jaden left, Dirks heart stopped. One female medic had spent the last hour manually pumping Dirks heart using a technique she learned from a Qeacaban traveler one time, however, Dirk could not be sustained forever which made it even more of an entrance when Fi showed up. After a short discussion with the female medic in which Fi pointed out that at this point they had nothing left to lose, Fi was given full access. They immediately began to regret it as Fi started to mix together various herbs she had on her person while making sexual small talk.

Another half hour passed and Dirk jerked awake with a gasp as if his body was positive that it would not actually be able to intake oxygen. Wide-eyed and unsure of what was going on around him, Dirk quickly tried to scan the room for anything or anyone familiar.

Jaden...

But instead what he saw was his manager sitting in a chair opposite some other girl he didn't know. His manager was still wearing the same provocative outfit she always wore as she rested one hand on her demurely crossed legs while sipping tea with the other. The unknown girl had flaming red hair and seemed to be focusing entirely on making sure her legs were spread as wide as the chair would permit. Her tea was nowhere to be found. Dirk's gasp had alerted the two of them to his rather sudden re-entry to the conscious world and after finishing the current topic they had been discussing, the two turned their attention fully on Dirk.

"Why hello there, sleepy," the manager said with a careless smirk. "Took so long for you to wake up that even the medics got bored of caring for you."

"Wh-why am I-" Dirk began to ask.

"Alive? Well you have this young lady here to thank for it," the manager responded as she motioned towards Fi who gave an exaggerated bow without getting up off her seat. "You should have seen her. An herb there, a potion here and voila! You're cured. Guess that Gattarian assassin isn't used to holding back. How are you feeling?"

Dirk paused to take a look at himself. He looked a sorry sight, but he felt... "Actually...I feel pretty amazing. It's shocking. I thought I was going to die."

"And your deathbed confession to The White Knight proved that much."

Fi perked up. "He confessed to Jaden? Man that's so sick. I'd give my left nut for a night with her."

Dirk suppressed the urge to glance down as some mysteries were left mysteries. "Can we not talk about that right now?"

"Our gem in Pendallan is fading. It has become a large concern and we came here after visiting Gattaria to seek out information and the condition of other gems." Xavier added on.

Halenstien seemed to raise his eyebrows a bit as the three of them together stated what they needed. First, there was the girl who spoke with much more gusto than he would have expected, and then there was Zane, who spoke with the eloquence and diplomacy that would be expected of someone who was the voice of a silent famous contender, and then Xavier, which a few things in that alone just caught his eyes as amusing.

"Pfft." Alice sneered. "Why would we let some random people like you in to see our gem-"

"No no no." Halenstien waved lightly, cutting her off. "I will permit you looking at it, if one of you guys - the important people like Xavier and the Gattarian Princess and all - stab one of these forced traveling kids in leg for my personal amusement." He said as a creepily peaceful smile drew across his face.

"HEY! THATS NOT-" Erik quickly replied.

"Juuuuusssst kidding." Halenstien laughed. "If I let you see the gem, I expect a trade off of information and to be kept in the loop. Quite personally, this situation does intrigue me, but with my nation to rule, I personally do not have the men nor time allocated to join your journey. In fact, Zane, Jaden. I would like you two to accompany them if you will."

Zane bowed his head. "We would be honored, sir, however, there are several other matters we have to attend to here in Terrador so we would like to officially turn dow-"

"What do you mean?" London interrupted, looking directly at Hal. There was no longer any trace of nervousness in her voice. "You don't have time? I don't recall us asking for time or men, but you seemed to sure have plenty of time when you're sitting on your butt watching the fights."

Leelas eyes flicked away from Hal and onto London for a moment before snapping back to look at Xiong and Alice as she raised and rested her hand on Lydias shoulder, as if she was expecting Londons confrontational tone to instigate a fight. A fight in which the first priority would be getting Lydia to safety.

"London!" Erik shouted in shock to what she said, knowing such lines are not going to go over. In a natural response, he seemed to nudge a bit closer to her as his eyes flicked back at Alice and Halenstein. On one hand, Alice seemed notably pissed, while Halenstein seemed oddly... amused?

"How dare you talk to the Commander like that?!" Alice snapped as she seemed to quickly reach for what appeared to be some sort of hidden weaponry.

Halenstein held his hand out in front of Alice, obscuring her view and quickly forcing her to halt. "Oho, fiesty. I like it." He hummed, as a slight smirk drew across his face. Slowly he unfolded his legs as he slowly sat up from where he was sitting as he walked up closer to the group. Not so close that he would be at risk of his reaction time being slower than how long it would take for Leela to get to him, but close enough that he could get a better look at them. "You bought my interest. If you like, I can treat you to a meal before you depart. I like fiesty." He said. "Also, unlike your king or queen or whatever you call them, I just dont find any personal point in running around nations checking gems. I have a more methodical approach and quite honestly, I don't have the time for the pointless goose chase Pendallan seems to have taken on. Afterall, I do have my personal interests and goals. There is a lot more in this nation than meets the eyes."

"Are you referring to the hidden lab where you are studying your gem?" Leela piped up, still not taking her eyes off of the true threats in the room. Hal was a non-issue on that matter. "The one filled to the brim with scientists and machinery that no Terrador native would even have the first inkling of how to use. Your gem is in just as bad of a condition as the Pendallan one, and from the level of tech I saw, you did go running to another nation, except not to check the gems but to borrow supplies. Seems the leaders of both nations panicked, albeit with differing solutions."

Londons eyes widened and she shot a glare at Hal before looking at Leela. "When did you figure this out?"

"She left out on a recon mission while we were busy settling in the hotel." Lydia spoke up to respond to London. She turned over to Hal. "Sorry for the invasion of privacy. No attack was intended."

"Very well Gattrian Princess." He said, turning back to Leela. "Well that technology are personal hobbies of mine adjusted only a bit to what the situation demands at the time. Just because the majority of my nation is notoriously below average on education, doesnt mean I don't have the basis." Hal laughed lightly. "But you are right. I don't have the educational basis to handle it, so I invited helpers of an old friend over to look into the situation in exchange for information."

"Hoarding information. Not shocking." Jaden muttered to herself a bit. "It explains things."

"And it isnt anything we will be wanting getting out now." Halenstein said in Jaden's direction. "Especially if you go out on the task. There could be some good support and rewards for you and your father."

Jaden seemed to look at Zane with a mixture of shock and annoyance at his quick response, that of which both seemed to speak for her and with a statement she disagreed with.

"Well isn't that too ba-" Halenstein replied.

"Hold on a second." Jaden stated, her tone firm with a very notable level of irritation inside it. "Commander Valdemar. I will take up your offer given my father is taken care of while I am gone and the reward you mention does follow through when I return. I'm not going to go speaking for someone else, so he might be saying no, but I'm what is needed right?"

Halenstein looked over and smiled. "That'd work for me, oh mysterious White Knight." He replied before looking back at London. "The follow me to the scaffolding above the gem. Close access can not be approved of for all, but, due to her ranking, Lydia will be allowed down."

Zane was notably shocked at both Jadens determined acceptance of Halensteins offer and the venom that was practically dripping from her when she mentioned Zane. His expression soon changed to confusion and he tried to talk to her, but before his mouth could open, Jaden had followed Hal and Alice out of the room and towards the scaffolding. The rest of the group followed suit, leaving Zane standing alone with his mouth agape, wondering what Jaden was thinking. He would have to find a way to corner her...

There was very little small talk made during the trip over to the gem with the exception of Xavier requesting to see the gem as a Pendallan representative, which was promptly denied, and of course Hal attempting to tease various members of the group. When they finally arrived, Hal directed everyone except for Lydia to go up to the scaffolding while Lydia stayed behind to go and physically examine the gem. Completely disregarding Hals words without even acknowledging his existence, Leela remained glued to Lydias side to go down with her.

Seeing Lydia get tailed alongside Halenstein by Leela quickly caused Alice to split from the group, just as silently following behind the two of them. "And here we are." Halenstein said as they came up to the gem. It seemed to rest on some long table, however it was covered over and protected wit a thick glass cover. However, while it did still have the nice bright brown color that it was supposed to have, it could be seen that a small bits towards the end were faded and, the furthest down in one of the corners of it, was almost black. For the most part, it hadnt spread too far, but at the same time, for those that really understand the importance of the gem, it was alarming enough as it was.

"So it isn't just something Zakaria and Rhea said to mess with them." Lydia muttered to herself, placing her fingers at her chin as she thought. "This is genuinely concerning." She said.

"Alset Himbur seems to have taken enough interest in it to lend some of his people over to research and aid." Halenstein replied.

Meanwhile, up in the top, Erik peered down at the gem from above. While the fading was a bit noticeable, it wasn't really what caught his eyes. The gem itself, even when dulled, still shone with an almost nostalgic manner from back when Rhea would take him to see the Pendallan gem a lot.

After a short while of talking and discussing, it was determined that Halenstein, Lydia, and Xavier wanted to talk separately over the various details, issues, and conditions of the situation at hand. It was because of this decision that everyone else was asked to leave the premises for the next few hours. It was natural for Leela to stay behind regardless; however, for Erik and London, they took it as an excuse to have a bit of a break, while Jaden seemed to silently head back out of the castle.

The second they were out of the castle, London let out a loud yell of relief. "FINALLY! It was so stuffy back there...Can you believe that guy? He acts like the destruction of his entire nation is little more than some kind of game or amusement to him...Like it's just another tournament"

"That's Hal," Zane said quickly to them as he passed by. He was rushing because Jaden had already gotten a big head start on him and he had to figure out what was going on with her. "Make your way back to our place!" he called back as loud as he could muster as he broke into a full on run. Jaden at a power walk could outrun 75% of Terrador. Because of this, Zane didn't actually catch up with Jaden until they were just almost back home, which was approximately 30-45 minutes of running to catch up. Zane was just about to collapse when he finally saw her in the distance and it gave him one final burst of energy. "JADEN!" he managed to call out, but his excitement at seeing her interfered with his rhythm of running and the shout threw him off just enough that he tripped over his own feet and fell hard on the ground.

"Hey at least we get to have another break from this whole situation." Erik said as he began to roll his shoulder back a bit as if stretching it. "I could use one to be honest."

Meanwhile, on the other hand, Jaden seemed to have made the walk using very little of her energy. A bit of sweat could be seen from being in the hot Terrador sun for as long as they have, but outside of that, it didn't seem like much stress or work was put on her. As Zane called out, she seemed to peer over her shoulder reluctantly, just in time to see Zane trip on himself - an action that almost managed to calm her clearly seething anger. For a good short while she seemed to pause where she was, looking right over at him before she sighed and turned back around as she opened the gate to their front yard and made her way into her house.

"Eh. True enough. Still, do you really think we can trust them in there? I get that they've been helpful, but Xavier is still here on her orders and Lydia wouldn't even let us see their gem."

Zane groaned pathetically as his sudden introduction to the pavement scratched up his face. Harrison saw Zane fall from the house and as soon as Jaden entered the house, Harrison rushed outside and helped Zane to his feet. Harrison could tell right away that Zane had overexerted himself by a long shot and so he practically carried Zane inside the house. The second they entered, Zane, still woozy from the lack of blood in his brain and the fall, spotted Jaden and immediately struggled out of Harrisons grasp, collapsing to the ground again in the process, but this time he ignored it. "Jaden will you please wait up!"

"Honestly? I cant be sure. Xavier I would like to say he is since he seems less focused on Pendallan, but with his connection to my mom and all, it is kind of hard to say." Erik replied as he began scratching the back of his head.

"No." Jaden said with a flat tone before quickly storming up the stairs, shortly following with a loud slam of what could only be imagined to be the bedroom door.

Harrison, as it all went down, seemed to bat his eyes between Jaden and Zane as if trying to figure out what happened exactly. "... what did you do?" He asked in a slight whisper. "She doesn't usually get this mad."

London paused for a few seconds and then groaned. "I wish I had my bow with me. Some archery would be really great for soothing my mind right about now."

Zane sat back, unable to stand or even move anymore. "I honestly have no idea. She's been being weird ever since we visited Dirk, the Unwavering Spear in the infirmary. We were brought to see Hal and he offered us a job. A job which would have us leaving Terrador, but he was offering us alot of money...I don't trust Hal...I turned it down and Jaden just...she exploded."

"It seems a little soft of a reason, but the money thing makes sense. She always has had a bit of a high concern for our finances.." Harrison said and then sighed. "She acts like she wants to be left alone, but shes not good to be left to fester. Do you want to go check up on her or should I?"

London, after having Fi for a friend all these years, immediately picked up on the potential innuendos of the situation but ignored it in favor of not stooping to her level. "Uh..sure. Why'd you model yourself after the grandpa of our horses though?" she said as she hopped up and onto him.

"I would...but I can't move," Zane said. "I can't make it up those stairs. All I know is she can't accept working for Valdemar."

"Working for Valdemar? When did that get on the table?" Harrison asked before dismissing it as he shook his head. "Ill try to get her down." He said before walking up the stairs. Once he got up there, he knocked lightly on the door. "Honey dear?"

"I'm fine Dad." Jaden huffed from her room. "Tell Zane to bug off. I have things to take care of and hes really interrupting it."

Harrison seemed to sigh as he glanced back at Zane, almost as if asking for him to wish him good luck as he raised a finger into the air. "Jaden I'm coming i-" He began to say as he opened the door, quickly moving his head out of the way as a pillow seemed to hurl at unnatural speeds past his head. "Jaden!" He shouted in a bit of a playful whine. "Thats not nice!" He said before closing the door behind himself.

After about eight minutes of the two of them being in there, the door to Jaden's room could be heard flinging open. "I WILL HAVE THIS BE SAID I AM DOING THIS RELUCTANTLY BECAUSE YOU ARE MAKING ME" Jaden said with a huff as she began to stamper down the stairs, seeming to get towards the bottom, pausing as he saw Zane still there as she let out a bit of a groan as she seemed to contemplate going back upstairs.

In the eight minutes that Harrison and Jaden were talking, Zane started working on getting up and into a chair. It took the entire time and he was only just easing into it when Jaden stormed down and caught sight of him. Zane said nothing and just looked at her. He had been thinking it over while struggling to get his seat and he came to the conclusion of what Jaden needed. Gently he motioned to the chair nearest to him, an invitation to sit.

I have spoken for you and accepted, and turned down, job offers and matches both with and without discussing it with you first multiple times over the years I've been your manager. That's my job. That's how it has worked so well for this long. You trust me to know what is good to accept or decline and if that's no longer the case..."

"Dont tell me I crossed the line." Jaden snapped, seeming to sit up angrily. "If you want to pretend like our relationship is nothing but formal and professional, then so be it - but if that is the case, you are working for me, not the other way around." She continued, her words coming out both loud and fast as she didnt take much of a break to take a breath. With another breath, she continued. "I have specific goals and duties I need to take care of, and quite honestly I dont see the issue with taking one mission from the government to quickly achieve the luxury that would allow me to relax just like you were telling me you want me to have. There is nothing wrong with me overriding you making a stupidly incorrect decision for me just because of whatever weird fantasy you have."
