Thoughts on a Death Note American live action movie remake??

Why Americans are so greedy?
Why is that everything that is famous in जापान must have their own versions in the America?
ऐनीमे DN, couldn't occur in America with English subtitles, they just must making dub (and द्वारा the way ruining all the charm) for this anime...

It would be a disaster ._. If they casted a "hot" person for Light (or L), people will only like death note because they are "hot" and not because of what Death Note is. For example, out of my group of friends, i am the only one who adores ऐनीमे and manga. However, if this american live action movie came out, and Zac Efron was Light (as rumours have told us), my फ्रेंड्स would be like "AH MAH LAWD LETS GO SEE DEATH NOTE! I HEAR ZAC EFRON IS IN IT! GONNA BE AMAZING :D"

people hav been talking about the american remake for 4 years and realisticly i think that if they were gonna make it they would of द्वारा now. in 2007 people were saying maybe zac will play light 4 years later in 2011 people are saying the exact same thing

It seems kinda like one of those "wait and see" kinda movies. Though I honestly can't see the necessity in making this movie. It kinda make America seem like a bunch of idiots who can't handle foreign movies. Nonetheless, I will most likely watch it if it even ever happens.

I'm not supprised that america would do a remake but. i think it won't work for two reasons first the people fell in प्यार with characters in the ऐनीमे not just the story so if the amerian version want to change anything in the characters the response will be nagative like if they change
L'sbehavior या looks .second the american actors did not even heard about the ऐनीमे probebly so they can't act या react like the japanese actors because they already know the ऐनीमे and how they should behave .....plus zac as light
and miley as misa डिज़्नी channel stars can't play this roles because people already saw them in comedy अभिनय so they won't take them seriously but depp as एल good but still notght enought.

Well, if they DO make one, I hope they don't use those actors; they look nothing like the actual characters. Other than that, though, they might do a good job. I can't judge something I've never seen. However, I'm not sure why they'd bother - there's already a live action Death Note film out there and, judging द्वारा the trailer, it's a good one. Making another just seems pointless when there are other great ऐनीमे out there that haven't been made into live action films.

All that aside, I think this is just a rumour, anyway; nothing to get worked up over.

I could imagine Benedict Cumberbatch from Sherlock या Elijah Wood playing L. It wouldn't be a bad pick. आप really shouldnt be that upset about them changing a character's race. I mean in The Avengers Nick Fury is black now and its still great. Just my thoughts.

I know this post is old but I'll throw in my cents anyway.

First off that poster is a complete fake, but I'm sure everyone taking this seriously already knows that.

First off, Light is attractive (depending on who आप are), and would be attractive, whether he's portrayed as Asian या American, so I don't see that as a legitimate complaint. I even find एल attractive, and the creators didn't intend him to be.

English is the dominant language of the world, and this would be an opportunity for illiterate या less "spoiled" individuals, for lack of a better word, to experience something that wouldn't be available to them otherwise.
Yes, they could just read the books, but everyone likes a taste of live action every now and then.

I also feel I have to encourage the own ideas of Asian countries, as it sounds like आप don't have faith that the story itself is strong enough to charm in any way other than the Asian way. If आप believe that the story of Death Note is as good as आप lead us to believe it is (and I know it is), then आप shouldn't be concerned about it "losing it's charm" simply because the race/language of the cast/characters is tweaked.

The only thing that could ruin it's charm is horrible acting, straying from the plot, bad animation, and संपूर्ण, कुल मिलाकर a watering down of what makes the universe captivating. A great example of this would be the live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, titled The Last Airbender. The series that movie was based on is full of charm, but that movie was anything but. In fact, the प्रशंसक base of A:tLA, including the original creators of the show, won't even positively acknowledge that movie as existing at all; we'd all prefer it didn't exist. Not because most of the actors were white, but because everything down to the एनीमेशन was nonsensical in relation to the universe they were supposed to be portraying.

Sorry, I कहा way और than I meant to...and if anyone reads this, cool. My point still stands...I don't see a problem with there being an American AND Japanese version, and I find the integrity of story-telling goes beyond race/language barriers. Alas, that's just me. Have a good remainder of the 2015 everyone!

If it's well-written, then YAY! If it's another American cinema tragedy, then GTFO. (not people who like it, just the idiots wanting to make it just to get money and not create something of quality. If आप like it, good for आप ;D) I hear it's not going to involve the actual cast and is going to be about revenge. But that was a rumor... I hoped... >_>
