Most likely not...I mean their school Sakuragaoka actually exists (in the name of Toyosato Elem.),however since it's a "Slice of Life" ऐनीमे then they may या may not be some kind of coincidence where it's similar to real life,particularly with the Light संगीत Club group. Although like I said,it's most likely fiction but due to one of it's genre, it also shows some stuff in real life,like say...highschool kids hanging out, going in क्लब्स together,going in fieldtrips...etc. just your typical highschool life.
Well base on the लेखाए I saw months ago. It is based on a true story about a 5 girl band who died on a plane crush but Kyoto Studios did not दिखाना the plane crush instead they continue the story of the 5 girls. Still hoping for a season 3 T-T

They talk about a flight but never दिखाना it, so if the flight DID happen irl, then there wont be a season 3, plus they graduated!!!
In my opinion, im not very sure if it is true या not because in the movie they did have flight but it never had any crashes, but in the दिखाना they didn't दिखाना a flight. So I don't have a for sure answer, it may even be an au या a theory
