Dan slowly opened his eyes द्वारा अगला morning and the flow of guilt was owning his veins when he happened to notice that Lisa’s side was empty. Last night was really terrible and looking back, even he couldn’t believe what he did, what he कहा and what he thought. He knew he hurt her, in और ways than one, so he decided to get up to see what he could do for her to accept his upcoming apology.
As he passed द्वारा Bessie’s bedroom, he noticed the door was slightly opened so he walk on to see what’s happening in there room which is usually closed and locked. “What the hell is going?” he asked the moment Lisa’s presence became known when she reappeared from the kid’s bathroom.
“I’m taking Bess to my mom,” she replied, neither bothering to stop या to stare at him as she hurriedly pack her daughter’s bathroom necessities in one bag, “as her mother, I don’t think it’s good if she stays here with you.”
“Lisa,” he calmly called out as his feet brought him closer to her and his hand tried to pull her into a hug but she refused.
“Don’t,” she firmly कहा with eyes finally meeting his.
“Look, she doesn’t have to leave. No one is supposed to. Lise, we can work this out.”
She gave out a sigh as her eyes landed on the bag again where her hands began keeping the things inside it again.
“I’m sorry about what I did, what I said. I didn’t mean them, आप know I won’t do that… and आप know how my life would suck without Bess, right?”
“Yes, I know you,” she glanced up him again, “but this place is a mess and I don’t want MY daughter to feel unsafe in her own used-to-be home.” With that, she shook her head and walked out of the bedroom.

Meanwhile, Bessie walked down Hugh’s hallway with her hands rubbing her still sleepy eyes. Earlier, she wanted to cry when she realized she wasn’t in her own bedroom but was suppressed when she heard Hugh गाना from the kitchen. Finally at peace, she decided to get down from the king size बिस्तर and made her way to the room where she’ll meet her father again early in the morning.
“Hi, sweet pea,” Hugh greeted when he noticed the pocket-sized fellow standing द्वारा the रसोई, रसोईघर doorway, “did आप get a good night sleep?” She nodded. “Well then, what do आप want for breakfast?”
“Do आप have फल loops? I think I could use some,” she कहा with a shy smile.
“Fruit loops, coming right up,” he कहा merrily before grabbing the रसोई, रसोईघर phone to call for the order. As soon as he placed it back on the stand, Bess was already seated in one of the chairs that surround the counter.
“How come I end up here?” the little girl asked while watching Hugh pour some दूध in a glass and handed it to her.
“Long story, kid,” he कहा and waited for the girl to bite his “excuse”. It really was a long story and he doesn’t even know how to tell her the truth या just cover this with a lie if his daughter wanted to know more.
“Did mommy slept here too?” she asked putting on the half-filled glass of milk.
“No, no she didn’t.”
“So she really had left me here to stay with you?”
“Hmm,” he playfully grunted as he slowly walked around the counter to be beside Bessie, “who told आप we’re up to be here all दिन long?”
“Am I wrong?”
“You’re wrong if you’d rather think that we’ll stay here than think of we’ll be out to visit Adventureland,” he finished his line with a knowing grin.
“Adventureland?!” excitement was obviously owning her voice.
Hugh nodded and Bess happily gasped. “Really?! Oh yes!” with that, her little arms tightly pulled him to a hug that he fairly returned as well, “thank आप daddy,” she whispered softly but was enough for him to hear to curve a smile on his lips.

Back to Lisa’s house, she was watching some boring shows when Dan decided to finally walk in. For the last two hours, she was giving him a cold shoulder, something new for Dan, well, even for herself. This isn’t her but for some reason she felt the urge to do so, so she didn’t bother turning her head to watch him take the empty अंतरिक्ष beside her.
“Lisa, talk to me,” he said, not caring if she’s listening to him या not, what matters is that, she hears him.
There was no response.
“Slap me, पंच me, yell at me, Lise but don’t run away from me. We need to talk about this.”
Lisa sighed and turned off the TV before finally looking straight into his eyes. From where he was seated, Dan could see the bruise where the spine had hit her. He wanted to take it away and he wanted nothing but to get the crap out of the one who did that to her द्वारा punching him in all directions he knows he could, unfortunately, that’ll be too hard since the magazine wasn’t from somebody’s hand, it was from him. He couldn’t think of something else that he could do to take all these angst away from them but to say the remaining truth that he had been holding up ever since.
“I admit,” he looked down, “I was a coward for the past few days and I wasn’t the Dan आप and Bessie met years पूर्व and for that I’m sorry.” Then there was a brief pause. “I also was selfish and if ever after this talk आप really want to हटाइए on with life without me, then so be it…. I… I…”
Dan began to stammer and sobs were beginning to come out of him. He also didn’t see Lisa beginning to cry as his eyes were locked on the carpet beneath them.
“Dan… आप don’t… have… to…”
“I really shouldn’t have been mad at आप because… because… I am doing the same thing,” he confessed.
“You’re what?” Lisa asked in disbelief. He glanced up for quite a few सेकंड but eventually put his head down in shame.
“I’m seeing someone else.” Lisa gasped again with eyes widening much bigger. She wanted to say rude things to him but nothing is coming out, not even a single word. She looked away to hide her disgust to her partner as he tried to चुरा लिया a glance at her.
“I tried to stop it but whatever I do, it still ended the way I don’t want it to,” he added.
“You… आप didn’t even bother calling it quits with the other one? या you… आप could just have do the same thing to me. Dan I wouldn’t feel bad if it turns out that way unlike right now... God, I feel so… fooled,” Lisa finally burst into a cry before standing up and stopping on her tracks between the sofa and the bathroom door.
“Tell me,” she requested after turning around to face him, “what do आप want?”
“You’re the one I NEED because I really do but you’re not the one I WANT because,” Dan pressed his lips together as Lisa waited for him to fully admit his lies, his secrets, his tales of adultery and then, “because I’m gay.”
