Is there an official standard age for when children USUALLY start दिखा रहा है signs of magic?

Rowling: "In my books, magic almost always shows itself in a person before age 11."
-Barnes and Noble interview, March 19, 1999

^But that is not from her official site and even if those are her exact words in the interview, that is a generalization, and not saying at which age it usually shows. Yet, if it is from the books, I can't remember and HPWiki doesn't provide a source; Neville's family feared that he might be a Squib because he didn't दिखाना early signs of magic - which implies that there is not just the "before age 11" but also a specific age when magic usually shows and if it doesn't, the family becomes fearful.

SO, any official स्रोत for what age that might be?

PS.
"Most experts believe that if a child has magical abilities, they will exhibit them द्वारा the age of seven[1]."
-Harry Potter Wiki + a reference to the Deathly Hallows book's chapter 7.

^Now that evidently contradicts Rowling's own words which prove that passing the age of 7 isn't an absolute squib. But just curious: What does the chapter say to make "most experts believe" such a thing?

Could it apply to age 7 being the official standard age for when magic at the latest, usually shows in children and if it doesn't the family starts worrying?

I don't think there's a specific standard age. It's like walking या speaking for a toddler. There's probably a span of time during which the first signs should manifest themselves indeed, like when a child begins walking या speaking, but that's not defined.

Not दिखा रहा है these signs at a दिया age doesn't mean there's a problem. Of course, from a certain age on, parents may start worrying, if द्वारा 18 months या 2-3 years, the child doesn't walk या speak, respectively. I guess for magic, in the HP universe, that's the same thing, but most likely to occur between age 2-3 to something like 8-9 (that's just how I see the thing). Hence the harsh way Uncle Algie dealt with the issue regarding his nephew Neville.

Obviously, Lily and Severus could do magic, in quite a controlled way, before they met. They met when they were 9. I suppose they were in the norm in terms of age. Yet, whenever their first signs of magic happened, that did not prevent them from being powerful and gifted witch and wizard. Besides, training has a lot to do with it.

Let's remember that kids are all different. There are slow learners and fast learners. There are slow developpers and fast developpers. But eventually, kids will walk, speak and - in the HP universe - दिखाना magic. Neville is a good example thereof.

At last, kids have to दिखाना signs of magic before attending Hogwarts. Otherwise, they would not be able to follow the courses. That's probably why magic is trained at high school/secondary level only, not before, just to give time to children's magic to mature enough to allow them to follow the teachings at Hogwarts.

But learning and developing pace has nothing to do with the point when it starts to show, as it usually shows accidentally with toddlers and other young kids. So it's not about the skills and learning, it's about pure biology - the magical gene that shows signs of its existence if it exists - and that I'd wish to know if there's any should-show-its-signs-at-the-latest age. If there isn't, then why the hell were Neville's uncle and grandmother that worried instead of just waiting until Nevile is at least 11?

That's what I कहा : Why some people worry so much about their kids that do no speak या walk at an age they think it is standard for all kids ? They rush to the doctors while there's nothing wrong in fact. Same thing for young girls who do not have their periods at 12 या 13, and their mothers drag them to the gynecologist. All this to hear that everything is normal and people should let Nature take its due course. Age 11 is a for magic as there's the enrolment to Hogwarts.

Squibs do not appear in pureblood families only. In fact, there is no such thing as pure-blood families, not really. Both of those are facts stated द्वारा Rowling herself. On her official web site Rowling has कहा that a Squib is a person who has AT LEAST one magical parent. This is in other words that the other parent can be even a muggle. As in a Squib can be born to any withc या a wizard regardless of how pure the blood. And Rowling has कहा on her official web site also that there are no real pureblood families; just families who prtened that they are pureblood. She says that every single wizarding family has a muggle या a few in there, those magical ones who worship purebloodness just deny them and pretend they don't exist.

I don't think there's an official standard age. It was implied in SS that Harry and Ron had been दिखा रहा है signs of magic for a while, but Hermione had not. (Her family had been completely surprised when she got her letter saying she was a witch, and if she'd been doing some of the things Harry had been doing for a long time, they would have at least suspected there was something odd about her.) In GoF, there was a little girl (I think they कहा she was three या so?) that turned her father's wand into a slug. However, I think if they haven't shown any signs द्वारा age seven या so, it's worrisome.

In my version of chapter seven in DH, there is no mention about children doing magic at all. (I don't even know why there would be in any other version, as that's the chapter with Harry's birthday and where the trio get the things Dumbledore left them in his will. There really isn't any place to allow a conversation about children doing magic at a certain age.)

Thanks for the answer. Hmm..Then HPWiki's got their reference wrong. I'm not surprised though, my trust in that Wiki is veeeerry little after I found out they use the movies' information and partially their own assumtions to fill up the canon's holes instead of letting the reader on about that the canon doesn't reveal the matter. *roll eye* Anyway...Yeah, all I'm looking for is if there's any official स्रोत for which might be the age when it starts to worry the parents and makes a chance that the child is a Squib... Do आप remember if there's any talk of children दिखा रहा है magic in DH - apart from the tale of Dumbledore's little sister which I don't recall addressing the issue of when the magic usually shows in children but just about her doing magic...

Yeah, I take everything the Wiki (and the Leaky, and Mugglenet, and such) tells me with a grain of salt. Sometimes it's accurate, and sometimes it's not. I don't remember anything in DH mentioning children doing magic. Although, admittedly, it has been a while since I've read the entire thing.

Isn't there the mention of a letter from Lily to Sirius, about Harry flying on a toy झाड़ू - so he was less than 15 months old. That's the letter Severus retrieve at 12 Grimmauld Place. Mentioned in DH. So Harry would have shown magic at an early age.

Perhaps. I assumed the झाड़ू was एनचांटेड to fly, but I guess Harry's magic could have made it fly.
