As some of आप may know, I often suffer from grammar-induced rage blackouts. These can be triggered द्वारा anything from a misplaced apostrophe to the incorrect usage of "your" and "you're". So, I decided to do something about it.. mostly because I'm afraid the अगला dangling modifier I come across might send me spiraling into a violent rampage the likes of which have never been seen.
I understand that a lot of Fanpoppers are not native English speakers, and thus might not have as good a hold on our sometimes ridiculously complicated grammatical rules. Obviously, I can't fault them for their mistakes. Still, hopefully this little guide will help them as well as the rest of you, who should just plain know better. :)
I give you:
"The चोटी, शीर्ष 5 Grammatical Errors That Make Bliss
Want to Tear Her Hair Out and Scream Like a Banshee"
1. The Misplaced Apostrophe
The most heinous and widespread of all grammatical mistakes. आप can't go nimbly bimbly throwing apostrophes around whenever आप see an "s". Here's how to use them correctly:
Apostrophes are used most commonly in two cases:
a) To signify a missing letter, as in the case of contractions like can't for cannot, या in abbreviations like gov't for government
b) to signify a possessive, such as "Nikita is Janie's cat" meaning that the cat belongs to Janie.
Under NO circumstances should an apostrophe be used to signify a plural! The following sentences are all incorrect:
"Apple's $0.29/lbs"
"The Nazi's were evil"
"I wish I knew how to properly use apostrophe's"
Here is a quote from an excellent link on apostrophes:
"If in doubt it is better to leave an apostrophe out than to put it in. This is because if आप leave it out incorrectly this will be put down either to an oversight या to an affinity with the देखा गया of George Bernard Shaw [who thought them unneccesary]. On the other hand, if आप put it in incorrectly this will be attributed (rightly) to ignorance."
2. Your vs. You're
Apparently, it's necessary to point out that these are not interchangeable. They actually mean completely different things.
You're is the contracted form (like an abbreviation) of "You are".
- As in, "You're a moron".
Your is a possessive pronoun. It is used to signify when something belongs to someone other than yourself.
- As in, "Your mother was a हम्सटर and your father smelled of elderberries"
3. Their, There, या They're
Their misuse is widespread, but there is hope; they're not as tricky as they seem.
Their is a possessive pronoun meaning "pertaining to या belonging to them"
- "It was their horrible spelling that caused her brain to explode"
There is an abverb meaning "that location" which is farther away than here.
- "Bliss is over there making out with John Krazinski"
They're is a contraction of "They are".
- "Dwangela rocks my world, they're totally meant to be together"
4. Affect vs. Effect
This is not a case of lazy American spelling. आप cannot simply choose at बिना सोचे समझे whether to start this word with an "a" या an "e". Again, these words mean different things.
Affect is a verb that has two common meanings:
a) "to influence"
- as in, "Bad grammar may negatively affect your sex life"
b) "to act in a way that आप don't feel"
- as in, "She affected an air of innocence".
Effect is a noun that most often signifies "a result"
- as in, "I drank 7 टकीला shooters last night and I'm definitely feeling the effects this morning".
5. It's and Its
Another confusing contraction.
Its is a possessive pronoun meaning "pertaining to या belonging to it".
- "I प्यार that cat, its purr is so melodic" (the purr "belongs" to the cat).
It's is a contraction of "It is".
- "Good grammar: it's sexy!"
Lastly, there is absolutely, positively no such word as its'!
So, there आप have it. I really hope this kicks some bad grammatical habits in the butt. If not wanting to look like a moron isn't enough incentive, then do it for me. The अगला time आप start to type "Bliss write's awesome article's", stop and think of me throwing my laptop across the room in a fit of uncontrollable rage, and refer back to this guide.

I did it again.
I accidentally hit the "start chat" tab again.
And couldn't remember how make it go away.
I've had this problem a few times before and have to re-learn it every time.
For some reason, I'm always under the impression that the solution lies under my प्रोफ़ाइल settings.
It does not.
So now there is an लेख to remind me, and anyone else who needs it, how to get rid of this dang thang.
Step 1: Under the "contacts" tab, click "I am online." The words, not the pencil. If आप click the pencil, it will complicate things and you'll have to reload the page.
Step 2: Click "Log out."
It's not the most obvious way out, but it's easy once आप finally remember how to do it, so I hope this helps cut down on some frustration. (If not for you, at least for me अगला time I accidentally open it and frantically खोजिए for a solution. =P)

Ok, I usually don't make user guides but this one needs to be made. I have seen a lot of picks and a lot of them are boring या annoying. Here is a सूची of steps to help आप out.
1. Try to have और than three जवाब if possible. If the सवाल is "Who should Jim be with?" Put, Karen and Pam, and then put an answer like neither या Katy.
2.Always have pictures for the सवाल if it isn't a yes, no, या maybe question. Pictures bring in और प्रशंसकों and make the picks और interesting.
3. Try to ask सवालों that people haven't already asked and सवालों that people will be interested in. Don't make it boring.
Now these are the three golden steps to making a good, quality pick on fanpop. If आप feel I need to add anything, then please leave it in the comments.

I'm guessing a lot of people have all ready have found this problem but if आप don't understand then it's like this:
One दिन I decided to create a new club of something that didn't exist as a club yet but I couldn't find the 'Create a club' button. Trust me I looked high and low for the thing but couldn't find it. When I logged out of my account at last there I saw it, the 'Create a club button' so when I clicked on it they of course asked me to sign back in but when I did I was the same position I was in before clicking.
For some people this problem don't seem to happen but for people like me who want to create क्लब्स but can't because the button is unavailable well it's frustrating. I've been looking abound for some kind of answer but the only thing that came up was a link link
this only leads to आप having to sign in again. I don't know if it's the signing in thing that's the problem but it really shouldn't be.
Please fix this problem Fanpop!
