"Beauty has to be learned." or .....idk....

The movie focuses on inner beauty, so I think this is the moral of the film.

Well take a look at Gaston, hes Handsome but ON The INSIDE hes a pig. Beast looks scary at first, but the more time Belle spent with him she saw " Past all that" Like Mrs. Potts said to him, you need to help her see past your demeanor. And thats when he turned into a Prince the first thing she looked at was his blue eyes his eyes didnt change. His attitude did.

If he could learn to love another, and earn her love in return by the time the last petal fell, then the spell would be broken. If not, he would be doomed to remain a beast for all time. As the years passed, he fell into despair, and lost all hope, for who could ever learn to love a beast?

Beast learned that Belle didn't want anything to with him because he was being rude and mean towards her and it had nothing to do with his appearance. That's when he realized that if he reformed himself on the inside, Belle would see his inner beauty shine through. This is in contrast to Gaston who is very handsome and doesn't think he needs inner beauty to win Belle's heart which is where he goes wrong.

also "beauty comes from within". my reason for picking this one: i don't think it's "don't judge a book by its cover" because Belle hated Beast for being a jerk, not being ugly. my example for "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder": Belle thought Beast (after he stopped being a jerk) was a really nice guy, so his ugliness didn't matter. Gaston saw the beast as hideous, so naturally he was mean and scary in Gaston's eyes.

All of these morals work, but I think this one is the most relevant.
Belle saw the Beast as ugly when she didn't know him and was scared of him. She judged him by his appearance and assumed horrible things about him like that he wanted to kill her. She later found him to be nothing more than a mean little man in a beast's body and treated him as such, showing that respect has to be earned (not a moral, but still, an important lesson). When the Beast did become a better person, Belle treated him as such and did not regard his appearance. She even saw him as beautiful, and showed that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. She was disgusted by Gaston, who was percieved to be the most handsome of all the men in the village. She did not relate to him as such because her image of him was based on his personality, which was grotesque.
