Anna is such a common name...

I hadn't noticed, but now that you mention it...

Animaluco - Well, to Brazilian ears "Anna" may sound like a common name, but I'm sure there are many countries where it doesn't have the same effect.

It doesn't bother me that "Anna'' is a common name, but it really bothers me that they all end the same

It's not as if the similarities are painfully obvious, but I've got to admit some variety might be nice. :(

They all have very different roots and origins. Moana especially.

Ahn-na isn't common at all in America; may as well spell it Ana. Everyone here says Ann-uh, almost ayan-uh.

They should've stuck with Maddy or something for Tiana, which is such an unrealistic name for that time period. People who call Maddy a racist name don't know what racism means. There's lots of other names that would've been believable- Biblical names, olf-fashioned names like Eleanor, Josephine, etc.

Lots of good Polynesian names to use but Moana seems more realistic than Tiana's name.

Didn't notice and thinking on it am still ok with it because they named Tiana because her name meant princess, Anna is a bit simple but honestly not what I usually hear (more often hear Ana with one N and pronounced ann-uh) and Moana sounds like it was chosen taking her culture into consideration.

Not a problem. It's cool that they rhyme. :D

Doesn't bother me. I thought for years that Disney wasn't creative for calling a character John Smith. Obviously I later found out why, but by comparison every name seems creative.
