They don't really do much as a couple and while they do kind of have a relationship is was more of as friends. However I think Mulan kind of had a lust for Shang when she saw him with his shirt off and Shang might have because I mean come on Mulan is stunning. But I think after they saved China it become more developed as an infatuation and in the sequel became love.
