In terms of Disney movies, there are some scenes, like Baby Mine in Dumbo and Goodbye May Seem Forever in Fox and the Hound, that I find more heartbreaking than quite a lot of death scenes.

It depends on the scene. Snow White's death is the saddest, in my opinion, but some things like the boys turning into donkeys in Pinnochio and the burned-out village in Mulan compete with any death scene.

There are some non-death scenes that are heartbreaking, but overall I think death scenes are the saddest. :(

It depends on the scene...Snow White's death is hartbreaking, as is the Beast's apparent dead, Eugene's dead, The death of Bambi's mother and Simbas father (though the latter is more shocking than sad), but there is also Cinderella ripped dress, Ariel thinking she lost everything, Dumbo visiting his mother. I don't think one is sadder than the other, everthing can bring me to tears if done right.

I always cry at Cinderella's ripped dress out of the DP movies Snow Whites death also has some effect.

The broken hearted Ariel is just aww :'(
but the death of Mufasa and Ray in PATF is so sad too.

Death scenes can be sad, but there are so many other scenes (a lot of what I'm thinking has already been mentioned) that are sadder

Ariel crying because Eric is getting married and Pocahontas ending are way sadder than any death in any DP movie. Not in any Disney movie, because Mufasa's death is the saddest of the sad sad, but besides that, those two scenes are heartbreaking.

I always get sad when I watch Goodbye May Seem Forever, and the ending of Fox and the Hound.
