Merida's condition gradually worsened. The cut on her leg was badly festered, she was still unconscious, her breathing was rapidly slowing down, and she spiked a fever. Mulan, Shang, Pocahontas, and John were waiting anxiously outside Kekata's tent. It wasn't long before Chief Powhatan joined them. "How is the girl?" he asked. "Not so good father." Pocahontas answered sadly. "In times like this, we must be strong for her." Powhatan replied. मूलन had tears welling up in her eyes.

"Excuse me for a moment." she said. She went to Powhatan's teepee and began to cry. She couldn't stand the devastation that was occurring. Chief Powhatan entered the teepee. "I know how आप are feeling, my child." he said. मूलन wiped her tears as she turned towards his direction. "We must be strong for Rebel." Powhatan stated. "Rebel?" मूलन questioned. Powhatan smiled. Rebel was Powhatan's nickname for Merida.

"Rebel has been a loyal friend to आप and my daughter. And right now, she needs us. This is the time we come together and give each other strength." Powhatan कहा wisely. "It's breaking my heart! I just hate seeing her like that!" मूलन replied as she began to cry again. "Now child, please don't doubt yourself. आप want to hear MY confession? I think she'll pull through." Powhatan comforted. "You think so?" मूलन asked. "I know so." Powhatan answered. मूलन took her time to regain herself. "I think आप should know this." she said.

"What might that be?" Chief Powhatan asked. "I'm pregnant." मूलन confessed. "Why that's joyful!" Powhatan replied joyfully. "Pocahontas and John already know. Shang and Merida already know also." मूलन said. "Take afew और moments to calm yourself, child." Powhatan advised. मूलन took a deep breath before heading out. Chief Powhatan followed close by.

Once back द्वारा Kekata's tent, the gang was met द्वारा the man himself. "I have disturbing news. The girl is getting weaker, and her blood pressure is dropping." he sadly updated. मूलन and Pocahontas hugged Chief Powhatan. Meanwhile, John was trying his best to comfort Shang. "Breathe. Your body won't be able to handle severe stress." John advised. "I already लॉस्ट someone dear. I can't lose HER too." Shang replied about Merida and his dad. "Just pray. Pray and I guarantee आप that your prayer will get answered." John said. Shang closed his eyes.

मूलन and Pocahontas decided to stay with the शिशु when it got late. "Thanks for watching our boys, Nakoma." मूलन thanked. "Any friend of Pocahontas is a friend of mine." Nakoma replied. Pocahontas went up to her other friend and hugged her. "I hope Merida gets better." she whispered. "I do too." Pocahontas replied. As soon as Nakoma left, Pocahontas and मूलन got the शिशु to sleep.

(A/N: In case you're wondering, Merida has sepsis. Sepsis is also known as Septic Shock, and if it was uncommon/unheard of back then, I'm trying to make it sound that way just in case.)
