Opinions on this situation: Parents keeping their baby's sex a secret

I'm providing a link to the लेख since it's long and gives all the info: link

Essentially, these parents are keeping their baby's gender/sex a secret to "protect their child" in order to promote "freedom" of development.
Additionally, the baby has two older siblings (2 and 5) who know the gender of their younger brother या sister.

Thoughts?

your child's a child. not a experiment.

I agree that it doesn't matter what the baby is and he/she should be allowed to develop into whatever kind of person he/she wants to be.
But I can't help but feel like this is almost a step backwards in a way. What if it is a boy and decides he likes dolls? Wouldn't it be like his parents saying "that's okay because no one knows which आप are" instead of "being a boy and liking गुड़िया is fine, we don't have a problem with it, and if other people do,they're wrong."

Also, I don't like the idea of using their kid as this highly publicized social experiment. What आप do in your own घर is your business, whether I agree with it या not.
But they're putting your baby on this platform and shouting "look at us! look at this! look what we're doing!" I thought these parents were doing this to protect their baby from outside pressures, but here they are putting them in society's spotlight.

And lastly, gender is a big part of identity. Not the *only* part, and it's always in flux, but it is part of you. I just hope the baby isn't... I dunno, deprived of that somehow. Not so much now, but what about when he/she is two? Five? Ten?

I absolutely agree with everything आप said. I think the parents should be satisfied with raising an open-minded child instead of teaching their children to hide their gender from others.

I actually heard about this a few days ago, and I have to say I agree with the parents. Why does it matter what gender the baby is? Why not let the child -- as it grows and develops -- decide for itself what it's gender and gender identity is? Why should the parents say what the gender is and allow people to treat it a certain way just because it's a boy या a girl?

I think the fact that so many people are so angry about the fact they don't know the gender of a baby they've never even met just enforces the parents' idea of "we don't want are baby judged द्वारा their gender."

Ok then, imagine आप are Storm. No ones allowed to know your sex apart from your family, and your not allowed to tell anyone. how would आप feel?

I really wouldn't care.

Just because someone is born with male parts doesn't mean they have to be masculine. They can be completely feminine, and feel completely like a female regardless of what their body parts are. It's those feelings that lead people into getting sex changes when they're older.

That seems pointless to me :S But what worries me और is the fact that the brother looks like a girl. What's up with the braids?

I see it as exceptionally odd. :/
The intentions I recognize are positive, yet I'm wary of it. I guess I'm mutual towards this, as long as Storm is able to decide to hide his/her gender identity for him/herself as she grows older. :)

As a psychology student who knows a thing या two about child development, I completely agree with the psychiatrist in the video.
