Put your hand up if आप were disappointed/upset/annoyed that there was no DE in 2x16. I know I was. Then I realised that, as aggravating as it might be to see the प्यार त्रिकोण, त्रिभुज take a back-seat, it might not be a bad thing that the writers are taking it slow. Whatever आप do, DON'T fall into the trap of assuming that because we didn't get any DE these past 3 episodes, then it means we've fallen off the writers' radar. That could not and will not ever happen. The प्यार त्रिकोण, त्रिभुज is an integral part of the show.

I can't help but feel jittery when I see प्रशंसकों who threaten they'll quit watching the दिखाना द्वारा the end of the season 'if nothing changes'. It's as if they're saying that they want DE to get together right away, in whatever slap-dash fashion it takes. But this a series-long प्यार triangle. The writers cannot possibly just throw them together in one episode. One thing that makes 'The Vampire Diaries' unique is that we already know (to an extent) what one of their big stories will be. It's not called a प्यार त्रिकोण, त्रिभुज for nothing. Clearly, we can assume that something will happen between DE at some point in the future. It would be a bit sad if प्रशंसकों gave up before DE had even started, just because they लॉस्ट patience with the writers.

It might surprise you, but the fact that the writers are taking the प्यार त्रिकोण, त्रिभुज and DE slowly is a good, I repeat, good thing. Yes, it's annoying not to get any scenes of them, but I suspect it wouldn't be quite so annoying if the दिखाना didn't go on a 6 week break after every 6 episodes. Three episodes is not actually that long at all in the context of a 22 episode season, it just feels longer because of the month-long hiatuses which frequent the show's schedule. If the CW could air 'Vampire Diaries' without constantly taking time out, then DE shippers wouldn't feel deprived and become despondent. Here are the reasons I came up with which state why it's a good thing the writers are going slowly with DE and the triangle:

1. It ensures the त्रिकोण, त्रिभुज will last the length of the series (approximately 4 और years.)

The importance of this can't be stated enough. The last thing we want is for the प्यार त्रिकोण, त्रिभुज to run out of steam द्वारा Season 4. Not only will it turn प्रशंसकों away, but the writers might be compelled to take desperate measures and do something really stupid to keep the story going.

2. It means viewers will never grow tired या bored of watching DE.

3. It strengthens/deepens fans' प्यार and obsession with DE.
And it makes us want them to be together even more.

4. The writers won't run out of ideas of what to do with them later.

How many times have SE कहा 'I प्यार you'? Exactly. They've कहा it so often it doesn't feel special या mean anything anymore. DE have so many things ahead of them. It's hard to feel enthralled when SE are making out for the one-hundred-and-thirty-second time, but with DE, everything - no matter how small - feels exciting and new.

5. Bamon प्रशंसकों see an opening for their ship if Delena flounders later on. So, the longer the writers delay Delena, the further away Bamon's shot at having a romance become.

6. द्वारा overdosing on Stelena now, there's a very strong possibility that द्वारा Season 4/5, SE will have reached a dead-end in their relationship.

In other words, they won't be able to progress any further because they keep going through the same problems. SE have pretty much been a solid couple since Season 1. And that could very well be their downfall. We're और than halfway through Season 2, and they're already starting to drag.

7. It gives Delena a better chance of being together at the end of the show. Enough said.

8. It makes Delena scenes और special.

द्वारा putting a lot of thought into the episodes and scenes they share, it ensures that DE's interactions stay really meaningful. This is why there will be episodes when we don't get any scenes - because it's not always going to be possible to fit them into a story where Damon is holding someone hostage या trying to kill a werewolf.

9. It means the best of Delena is yet to come.

I think it's सुरक्षित to say that while Season 2 has had some amazing moments, it hasn't really been our Season. And even though that sucks, it's definitely not all bad news. It took some time, but DE finally emerged from the 'Jeremy' incident in 2x01 with their friendship still intact. Basically, द्वारा going through something that challenged and tested their relationship, DE can only come out stronger at the end of it. Damon doesn't think he deserves Elena yet, and even killed someone to prove it, but I think द्वारा the end of the season, he'll discover he's wrong about that. As tempting as it is to want DE to get together right away, and as much as everyone would प्यार it, it just wouldn't be the same if the writers went overboard and gave us what we wanted all at once. It's exciting to think that as much as we प्यार DE, their story is only just beginning, and there's और - and better - still to come...
