Damon & Elena Article: Ranting...because I feel like it.

This is a total buzzkill, so don't read any further if आप don't want to see bitching and moaning over fiction.

Geez are we ever going to get good news? I don't want DE to be rushed but I also don't want them to be stuck and not have their story हटाइए forward.
When asked about what's coming for Damon&Elena, Nina कहा "are still in the same place that they always kinda have been". Of course I realize if something big is going to happen she can't give it away...but even so I still think we're probably not gonna see as much as them as we want to. या at least not for a while. I remember when the season just started KW कहा "this is the season we deal head on with Damon and Elena". So what the hell happened to that? They've barely spoken in the first half of the season. Aside from the uh-mazing "I प्यार you" scene and the awesome scenes in "The Sacrifice" we haven't gotten much else. Not to mention I think the whole him letting her go thing is actually a way to divert the storyline away from DE. That and the million girls they're throwing at Damon.
I've seen people say they're sick of the त्रिकोण, त्रिभुज and frankly I have no idea what त्रिकोण, त्रिभुज they're talking about. Because until we see Elena develop romantic feelings for Damon, I don't see how it could be considered a triangle. I know some of आप believe that deep down Elena has those feelings for Damon but as far the दिखाना goes and from what the writers have shown and explained to us, it's 100% Stefan for Elena right now.
The network is very much aware of the fact that Damon&Elena have और fans...that's why there are और promo pics, and webclips of them than any other pairing. But as far the दिखाना goes it's all up to KW&JP and I'm slowly starting to believe that they're just dangling a carrot in front of our faces when it comes DE. JP once कहा "their relationship, in my opinion, is all about the yet, and the when." So I feel like when they say he doesn't deserve her yet, that "yet" keeps us watching because we think it's going to happen one of these days. And I don't know if it's the hiatus या if my usual pessimism has reached its highest level, but I feel like that "yet" is not coming. I प्यार all aspects of the show(except SE) and I'm really looking आगे to what's coming (Klaus =D), and I प्यार all the other characters and relationships. But if my प्रिय part of the दिखाना is neglected I can't help but feel a bit frustrated.

I hope I'm wrong. I hope the writers know exactly what they're doing and the only reason they're stalling is because when DE happens it will blow SE out of the water. After all, Damon&Elena are meant for each other

Anna_JH Ohh I totally agree with you! These past couple of days I've just felt fed-up and restless. Which ultimately makes me feel pessimistic at the moment. But I'm just in a mood. Once I see the hug play out, I'll feel much better, hehehe. Everything you said about the network knowing their audience is spot on. They need to be careful though. If they continue to be hot and cold they'll risk losing their viewing figures. Of course we want the build-up... but we want a steady progression of it! If we haven't gotten ANYWHERE at the end of season 2... I won't be eager to watch Season 3. However we need to remember the scenes Delena have had. Quality not quantity comes to mind. We've had some mind-blowing scenes; The Return, Bad Moon Rising, Rose, The Sacrifice. They had intensity, passion, love, hate, friendship, fighting, and gave DE fans sooooo much to talk about. Stelena had a ride in a ferris wheel... big whoop. We'll be okay. I haven't lost faith. We stole the second half of season one and I feel positive the season half of season two will belong to Delena <3

purpleyes You, my friend, have just summarized EXACTLY what I've been bitching and moaning about to my friends these last few weeks. The KW & JP just piss me off sooo much lately! I too am starting to think that the only reason they give us ANY Delena snippets and (false) hope at all is just so they dont lose about a million viewers! They know that if they came outright and said, "Look, we know that a ton of you fans want something to happen between Elena and Damon, but it's just not going to happen," the show would probably end up cancelled. They just... ugh! *insert me tearing out my hair* Frustration to the max over here in Florida.

nsk "until we see Elena develop romantic feelings for Damon, I don't see how it could be considered a triangle" thats exactly why delena isnt my fav ship on the show ( dont get me wrong i like them as friends) elena doesnt have any feelings for damon and S/E become stronger and stronger , i cant see how delena as a couple could work thats why i really cant wait to see elena having some feelings for damon , then id judge but as u said it seems that the writors are slowing down the delena storyline maybe to make the fans even more addicted to the show? or because they cant rush the stuff , the show is popular afterall and they need to get the audience interested in the show for several seasons

delenasalvatore I think I know what you're talking about. I don't mind the wait, but I do sometimes worry about the direction the show is moving in, DE-wise. (2x11 is a prime example of this.) I also watched the Nina/Kristin interview you mentioned, and I was a little disappointed Nina wasn't more forth-coming in what she said about Damon. I'm also narked that when it comes to Stefan/Damon, the cast/producers are like: 'Damon is the guy who brings out the 'fun' in Elena's life, but Stefan gives her the love she needs.' Nina also said that. (No disresepect to Nina btw.) I thought: 'Hey! Damon loved Katherine for 145 years. 145!!! You can't get any more committment than that!' I don't think they're justified in constantly painting Stefan as the 'caring, committment type' and Damon as the 'fun' one, when it's clear that Damon loves very deeply, and he loves Elena. I would like to see ONE interview, when Kevin or Julie or Nina said something about DE we haven't heard half-a-dozen times before. I would like them to acknowledge that Damon DOES love Elena, instead of skirting round the topic like an accident zone. I get that they're pacing the story, and I understand that. But it would worry me if we get more start/stop episodes. Going into the second half of the season, they need to pick up pace, not slow down and stop. The way they've written DE so far kind of bothers me this season: 2x01: A lot of DE. 2x02: very little DE, 2x03: A lot, 2x04: Back to very little, 2x05/6: hardly any, 2x07: zero, 2x08: one amazing scene, 2x09: nothing worth mentioning, 2x10: a return to form, 2x11: negligible. The trouble is, when there are stretches when there are very few scenes, nothing much seems to be happening. And it feels like they're neglecting the story. I would like to watch almost every episode and think that they were making progress, bit by bit. But the writers don't seem to do that. However, I would also like to say that I don't think SE have made any significant progress either. If anything, they are even more boring than they were last season. I know they love each other, but as far as relationships go, theirs suck. They make out, they're boring, they have a faux fight, they're boring, they exchange blood, and it's disturbing not romantic or sexy. DE's scenes still win over SE's, any day of the week. I thought The Return was amazing, and I also loved 'Bad Moon Rising' (Damon apologising and being truthful even though he knew it could mean losing Elena as a friend was a major event, in my opinion. 'Rose' was incredible and 'The Sacrifice' saw DE back on top. As long as we get more amazing scenes, I don't mind if they are a bit slow in the development of the triangle. The triangle WILL happen eventually. I would say that by the end of Season 2, Elena should admit that she has feelings for Damon. Season 3 should see the proper triangle, with Elena being emotionally involved in it. Personally, I try not to take everything Julie and Kevin say too literally, especially when it comes to DE. To be quite honest, I'm not sure if we can trust them 100 per cent. I don't quite understand why they're willing to release promo stills of DE and stuff, and then yak on about how Stefan and Elena are the perfect couple and how they'll always love each other; and heavily promote 'Damon's shower scene' and 'new love interest'. They know that DE have a huge following, they're happy to use DE to promote their show to some extent, but they seem very reluctant to talk openly about them. Like the love triangle, for example. What exactly, have we learnt about what will happen this season? Not a whole lot. They've teased us, and said some encouraging things about gearing up for a romance; I know it's been said that this is the year we dive into DE's relationship, but what have we seen so far? Not a whole lot. I'm hoping that the only reason they're giving Damon a new love interest is to fuel the love triangle. Otherwise they're just deliberately moving AWAY from the triangle, and causing random, pointless drama. I haven't lost hope, and I'm certainly not tempted to give up (it's only mid-season!) When you say that you feel like the 'yet' is not coming, well, you are probably right. We still have 11 more episodes to go, and a lot could happen in that time. I'm expecting to see something major happen by the end of the season though. I would encourage you not to be too concerned about the lack of progress. The show moves more quickly in the second half, so I wouldn't be worried yet. If, somehow, by the end of the finale DE are still locked in a stalemate, THEN I would probably say that it's time to start panicking.

JanaP I don´t unerstand all the negative points about Elena and Damon- they still have the best sceenes. It doesn´t make sense to say that the writers don´t want to do with Delena, but in the same time, they made it very clear that Damon loves Elena by let him say it to her. There are hints that there will be D/E in the future, we must read between the lines.

katie15 I understand your points, but I'm honestly not worried. 2x11 was a joke and afterwards I asked myself why I even watch this show. However, what you have to remember is that there should be [i]at least[/i] six seasons, so four more after this, if what is said is true. So if they don't have much development this season, remember we still have four more seasons to get them developed. We don't want things to happen too quickly otherwise by the time they get together they could become Stelena and then TVD might bring more pointless drama like Bamon. Don't worry, DE are going to happen. I doubt this season, but next for sure. KW did say in an interview that it would be [u]this season or the next season[/u] that the Delena relationship would go in full swing, so I imagine he means next.

tellymaster Wow. This is EXACTLY what I've been complaining about! Do the writers not care about what we want? I've almost lost hope in DE, but there is still something there that still makes me confident. What pisses me off more than anything is all the random girls they're throwing in for Damon. >_< It's pretty much the writers give us that amazing "I love you" scene, and then they continue on like it didn't happen. Well, thanks for giving us hope for nothing. I really don't want then rushed either or turned into Stelena, but at least give us SOME scenes. Give us some flirting or friendship. In other words, scenes like the ones in season 1. I miss season 1.
