I'm not an Atheist because I don't like Christians. I'm an Atheist because it makes sense.

I had a bad experience with a Christian church, they were all discriminative, hypocritical and cruel to me. They pretended to welcome me in, but they were all scared of me, cos I was different. i.e. fat, bisexual (although I didn't know it then). I was a bible-bashing jesus freak, and I hate myself for it. I regret how stupid and naive I was, and I wish I could take back all of it...

no, I don't beleive that there are "spiritual beings" controlling your every move. also, i was forced against my will to go to a church where i knew the people looked down upon me, bcuz my parents are divorced and my sister got pregnant VERY young

My family is strongly Christian and until I turned 17, I was too. I just started to see how hypocritical and disgusting the religion really is. The religion is supposed to be centered around love and forgivness, but hardly any Christians practice these, and even the bible itself does not demonstrate this. My dad actually came right out and said that everyone who isn't Christian or anyone who is gay is going to hell. I mean I just can't see how someone can say something so horrible about other people and still feel like a good person themselves. I mean why would you think something like that and believe in a God that would let so many innocent people go to hell just for being different?

My parents were raised in strictly Christian families, my mom says she's a doubting tomas, my dad... I think he's an atheist, he's never straight out told me. They always went to church but stopped when my older brother was born(too much of a hassle lol) and they decided they shouldn't force a religion on us, they let us choose.
A few years ago I went through a phase where I felt bad that I wasn't the same religion as... well, everyone I know, and I tried going to churches and praying to god and all that, but it seemed so... weird? I gave up, realized religions are nonsensical and irritating, and I decided I would be an atheist. Maybe it had something to do with my love of fantasy...
