Upon their arrival to the Den, Stern instructed Eight to remain at the base of the mesa and insisted that it would be a much better idea for him to rouse Deogee and the others from their sleep. With a few hours til the sun kissed the earth with नारंगी, ऑरेंज light, the den, all but those on patrol this evening, would still be in slumber.
It took little time for Stern to return with Deogee, Otto, Benjamin and Jayne. They each traveled around to the rear of the मांद, डेन rock and toward the woods just a little way, they were near the night patrol's pre-duty meeting spot.
Each of the भेड़िया sat in a semi-circular pattern around Eight and Stern.
Despite having only just woken up, even a few hours earlier than expected, none of them looked as though they had just woken up. Eight checked all four of them over well, they looked ready for action, like they had been awake all evening. He supposed that, in being a leader, this was a requirement, especially in such situations.
Deogee spoke,
"Okay, Stern. Fill us in."
"Sirs, I must begin द्वारा making two things known to you." The स्टाउट, तेज, मोटा भेड़िया began, standing as he spoke, very official, "The first, and most important is that we are now aware that the inhabitant of the Southern area just beyond out border is a Cougar."
This seemed to take the Alphas off guard, their ears perked as they glanced to one another before casting their attention back to Stern, who didn't falter in his explanations,
"The सेकंड is that the game in the Southern fields has moved out of our reach almost two weeks sooner than expected."
"This is troubling news, indeed." Deogee calmly pondered aloud.
Otto spoke up on the subject of the Cougar,
"How did it come to pass that आप were made aware of this Cougar's presence? Was there an infraction?"
"I think Eight could best explain that." Stern said, looking to Eight and motioning for him to step forward. Eight did so, as Stern stepped back, allowing him to speak,
"When I first arrived in this territory," He began, a little nervous, "I had to pass through hers first, lets just say that she don't like visitors."
"How did आप escape with your life?" Jayne inquired.
Eight shrugged as he turned his focus to him,
"She let me go."
"Let आप GO?" Benjamin piped up in disbelief, his gravely voice breaking the stark silence of the morning.
"Yes sir. Let me go." Eight looked at each of them as they stared on, prodding for further explanation with their eyes. "She explained that she had her reason, though whatever it was, I'm unsure of still. She was quite cryptic."
He got a nod from Jayne and scanned over each of them back to Deogee.
They went on to inquire further as both Stern and Eight recounted the evening's events. How Eight had disobeyed orders and called out over the borders, how in doing so, they were privy not only to the knowledge that the herd had moved from their borders, but also to a possible deal in the makings with the Lioness. Stern went on to explain her stipulations and even further to remind the elders that without the herd to hunt from, Some pack members would surely do without for too long.
Eight even offered his opinion when the time was appropriate, that if they got enough of the deer back to the fields, they would be able to hunt for much longer than just 2 या 3 weeks.
The four pack Alphas remained silent for much of this, asking only few and short सवालों here and there to gather information they needed to make a decision. When the two Betas were finished, the older भेड़िया looked to one another without a single word between them and stood.

"We four have decided that we cannot ignore these facts. There are, however, other facts that can also not be ignored." He continued. Eight picked up a little bit, curious as to what he would say next.
"Though आप should be punished for your actions and blatant disregard for command, आप will not be on the circumstance that in your brazen and careless actions, आप not only fell privileged to information that would not have otherwise been gained, but also may well have discovered a way to keep the pack fed through the winter."
Eight picked his head up and held it aloft, almost proudly and certainly और confident. Even Stern fought not to crack a grin at his lucky break.
Deogee and the others, however, did not smile. The expressions on their faces कहा everything that needed to be said. Their words only made it final.
"In the future, not only will we not be lenient for such disregard, but we will recall this and आप will be punished further. Do आप understand?"

"As far as the proposition for aide..." Deogee turned to Otto, who's large form moved forward, paws sinking into the wet dirt just slightly as his body pushed the clinging fog away with his movements.
"We've decided that with such short notice, we cannot afford to simply let the herds pass idly from our lands." His voice boomed out, though he spoke lower and quieter.
"We will हटाइए on the offer दिया द्वारा the शेरनी in control of the neighboring territory."
"How much time is needed to gather a hunt party?" Stern asked. With the sun on its way soon, the खच्चर Deer would be up and about in a matter of hours. He wondered to himself if there would be enough time to assemble a hunt team and make the journey.

A light, a sparkle in each set of eyes as they stood tall, each now exhibiting a still and powerful energy, a quiet energy, as though it was good to be back in the game.
Eight grinned widely and looked to Stern who smiled back at him, nodding his head as though to say without words "This is going to be good."
"Well then, gentlemen." Deogee called to each of his compatriots, as an open ended invitation.
He shook out a little bit, his paws and legs mostly, Benjamin cracked his neck and stretched before turning to Jayne and roughly chiming up,
"Well? Are आप gonna do this, या what?"
Jayne beamed his shiny teeth in a wide smile, pearly white fangs glinting in the beginning of the dawn sun as it covered the horizon with light,
"I thought you'd never ask, Dear boy."
With that, he was off like a tan bolt, Eight had trouble tracking his movements as he disappeared through the fog in the direction that they would each soon be traveling. Even Shade didn't हटाइए that fast-COULDN'T हटाइए that fast.
