 The Writer Behind the Words
The Writer Behind the Words
Luck has little to do with link. A long lasting लेखन career doesn’t just happen. A writer can burst onto the scene and quickly disappear. Another can have a series of hits then write a bunch of flops and never be heard from again. The difference between a long lasting career and one that burns out is strategy. Here are seven rules to help आप find the right strategy for आप and get आप started on your journey to long lasting success.

Learn the power of focus. For most of us, we have और than enough to do on a daily basis. And when it comes to any लेखन project the सूची can grow exponentially- आप have a blog to write, a monthly newsletter to keep up with, two deadlines for upcoming books, a speaking engagement and more. A long “To Do List” can be overwhelming and for many of us can lead to procrastination, confusion या just plain paralysis! The solution? Do one thing at a time. Come up with a goal for the day. लेखन या marketing? Then do the tasks that will accomplish that goal. If आप have extra time आप can focus on other less pressing tasks.

Keep moving. Humans are smart. Sometimes too smart. Many times obstacles come in our way like a पेड़ in the middle of the road and instead of going around it, we try to chop it down या climb over it. Don’t focus on the obstacles. A rejection is an obstacle but instead of focusing on it हटाइए to the अगला submission या work on something else. So your first play wasn’t the greatest, start your अगला one; okay so your प्रिय editor left your magazine, try to woo the new one. Don’t focus on the roadblock. Go around it.

Don’t use a shovel to eat soup. Use the right tools that work for your project. Whether it is the tool of language (different language is used in romantic fiction versus कल्पना या literary) या software. However, आप don’t need all of the latest technology to be a prosperous writer. I still write all of my initial story ideas long hand before entering them on my computer. To help ‘speed’ the process, a साल पूर्व I bought a Neo AlphaSmart that has helped me capture ideas and bits and pieces of my manuscript and अपलोड it directly to my computer, but my handwritten notes are still my old standby. There are a lot of reasons to spend money, new software, लेखन books, gadgets that promise to make your लेखन life easier, choose only the ones आप really need.

Time stops for no man. How आप spend your present time dictates your future. Daydream about लेखन and months later you’ll have a lovely daydream and nothing to दिखाना for it. If आप envision a book write it every day, if not every दिन at least every week. With our busy lifestyle many of us--beginner and professional writer – let time get away from us. For some of us, we are always trying to ‘find’ time to complete या start our अगला manuscript. Time never stands still so it’s up to आप to grab a hold of it rather than waiting for it to be ‘enough’. I know a dear friend of mine who when she was working full-time always dreamed of being able to stay घर and paint. She now works from home, but still doesn’t find enough time. Why? Because she hasn’t learned the importance of time management. She fills her time with activities that don’t get her close to her dream of painting. So now every दिन she puts in a half घंटा when she must paint and is working towards her dream of being a full-time artist. Time is not the enemy, how आप use it is. So be conscious of what आप do with it. You’ll be surprised how far you’ll go.

Be your own cheerleader not your opponent. We all suffer from doubts, but don’t let your inner critic stop you. When a baby is learning to walk she’ll fall down a lot. She’ll get bruised and cry, but in order to master the skill she’ll need to keep on getting up and trying again and again. We understand that falling is part of the process, but for some reason as adults we’ve become averse to falling. We’ve interpreted it as ‘failing’ and it is. But one must fail his way to success. When आप fail at something, instead of letting the critic have the final say, replace it with your inner cheerleader. The one that says, “That’s okay, keep going.” या “I know it didn’t work this time, but अगला time will be better.” Like the baby learning to walk we have to keep getting up. One rejection letter या two hundred should not stop आप from building your लेखन career. So an editor didn’t like your latest story, come up with something else या प्रस्तुत करे to a different editor. Every career will have its ups and downs. The ones that burn out are the ones that hit the floor and stay there.

Claim your status. Whether you’re published या unpublished claim the fact that you’re a writer. Don’t wait for someone else to give आप that validation. Once again your inner critic may be saying, “I’m not a real writer because I haven’t published anything.” या “I’m not a real writer because I’m not published in hardback.” “I’m only a genre writer; I’ll be a real writer when I’m in mainstream.” या “I’ve only been published in the community newsletter I’m not a real writer like a journalist.” If आप write, you’re a writer. आप don’t need anyone’s permission. However, I will caution you, if आप make this claim, take the necessary steps आप need to grow your skills as a writer. On the flip side there are a number of people who proudly call themselves writers, but never grow in their craft and their careers shows this lack. So constantly strive to be a better writer. This can be accomplished in many ways, online workshops, attending a conference, taking college courses, self-development द्वारा reading, etc. Don’t ever stand still.

Be flexible. Successful लेखन careers are rarely linear. Writers have to take detours when a magazine closes या a new editor hates the writer’s work. A successful mystery series suddenly becomes stale या market trends change the type of work that is accepted. Stretch your लेखन muscles so that your career can always take a new and exciting journey. Do आप write poems? Try लेखन an लेख on poetry. Perhaps that could lead to a book. If your novel isn’t selling, perhaps serialize it online या take the theme and write a short story. Fiction authors try non-fiction. Don’t let yourself be victim to the whims of the industry.

Success is mainly strategy. Writers whose careers have lasted haven’t been without failure, disappointment and setbacks, but these individuals have learned how to हटाइए आगे on the goals they’ve set for themselves. Hopefully with these seven rules आप can linkfor success.
So, hi.
To those of आप who don't know me, my name is Josephine. आप can see me mostly hanging about the हीरोस of Olympus spot.
I write mostly fanfic on फैन्पॉप (If आप want to see my original work check out HousexofxNight on Quizilla), but my friend annabeth523 asked me to post this online so she could read it.

Basically put, this year, on the first of September, I turn sixteen. My goal is to have typed 100,000 words of a single story द्वारा then. I started typing on the 28th of December 2012 and I am just over 42,000 words in. I am now editing what I have written so far.

What आप are about to read...

The girls came back with a huge jug of water."Okay, now it's time to get down to buissness."Rachel said. She moved over to the drawer, and slowly opened it.She took out a long, silver key.

"Okay, look I have way और power than you,and I really don't need you, only as bait of course."Rachel added quickly,so Josie would get it,"Once your silly, dumb, sister knows I have you, there'll be no stopping me.Haley, get me my phone!"Haley obediently retrieved the phone.

Rachel texted Laura:

This was take from a post on Tumblr that I found interesting and wanted to share! (And I did some of my own Googling and added to the list.) It just goes to दिखाना that someone telling आप that your लेखन isn't good doesn't mean anything. People just think differently from each other. ;P

Sylvia Plath: There certainly isn’t enough genuine talent for us to take notice.

Rudyard Kipling: I’m sorry Mr. Kipling, but आप just don’t know how to use the English language.

Emily Dickinson: [Your poems] are quite as remarkable for defects as for beauties and are generally devoid of true poetical qualities....

It was a dark night and there wasn't a single person around. The sounds of the ocean hitting the rocks below and the gusts of winds blowing through the empty black sky above. No stars and no moon. A man standing on the edge of the cliff looking over at the crashing waves below with only one thought. "Why not jump? What's left for me?" All the sounds vanished in his head. He took a step a little closer to the edge. A car pulls up with a girl in it. She gets out and starts screaming the mans name with tears in her eyes. "James! Please don't jump! I प्यार you!" He couldn't hear her as he looked...

Who was that girl? How was my sister there? What was the place I was in? I have so many सवालों and so little answers. After lying on the ground for a while I start to hear footsteps coming towards me so I sit up to investigate. It was a man in a heavy black कोट with a हुड, डाकू on and a लपेटें around his mouth. With his mouth covered so much I couldn't see who he was. He walks past me without even noticing me so I stood up to follow him.

As I am walking buildings start to appear around us forming the empty अंतरिक्ष around us into a city. He walks around a corner causing me to lose sight of him....

"Shaun, wake up. आप need to go now." The words I heard a faint voice say. It sounded familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it. Who was it? I just couldn't figure it out no matter how hard I tried. अगला was a sound. Blood spraying from a body. The drops hit the ground one द्वारा one. The sound echoing through my head like bells going off simultaneously. My eyes open in an instance. The only color I see is red. I rub my eye and feel the blood i had heard. It was mine.

I fall back to the ground as my eyes start to close slowly. I can hear that voice again. "Get up! Please get up! I need you,...

I remember running down a long corridor...I knew soon that I would have no where left to run and 'they' would get me. I tried not to think about that part though.

"Get her!" I heard them yell and I just got even और nervous. I picked up my speed and ended up tripping, falling, and sliding on the floor on my stomach. I wince as I hit the दीवार and I turn over to find one of them standing right infront of me. Truth be told I had no reason why they were chasing me. I had never done anything wrong and my parents from what I knew didn't want me so I lived in foster care.

I've decided that I'm लेखन a guide first to my fanfiction. Because if people read the guide and like the storyline, then I'll write it. If they think it isn't good and nobody would read it, then I won't. I don't want to waste energy लेखन this if nobody wants to read it.
First, a little insight on the ''idea'' for this: Honestly, I don't know how it happened. I was just sitting down, reading, and it hit me. Like a एक प्रकार का जहाज़ in the face. What if, somebody came घर one day, all bruised? Bruises on their arms, legs, face, everywhere. And the family shows concern, and wants to know who did it-...

He creeps through the alley ways
Forever, perhaps
All in search
Of a few meaningless scraps

Paws scared, फर stained
Mourning over
What his दिल once contained

कॉलर torn, soul lost
Forever wandering
On the ground of frost

Memories will never fade
For his closest companion
And master for life, betrayed

Kicked on the streets
Forced to live
With the night's beasts
Wanders and wonders
Hiding in the shadows
From the night's thunders

Forgive and forget
They always say
But that thought doesn't enter the mind of this stray
Hoping one दिन a new master would come
But alas, that is seldom

As days go by, and nights linger
He hopes and prays
For his soul and body
To part ways

For the pain is torture
And the future is bleak
Shunned from the world
Known as a freak

When, oh when, will the world learn?
How would they feel if the tides were turned?
Echoes from the outside
The shades of evening soul
Step द्वारा step dance toward the open windows
Bring out the sounds when the wind blows
Upon my face and around my skin
A melody touches to any hearts,
Hush, again and again till it echoes inside
Erase the elegy of pain and sorrow
Bring the wings to follow the flying sparrow

Come inside and spread the feels
Flaunt me to the air in vibrating melody
Me, diving in tunes of melancholy
Voicing a happy song internally
Stay in spirit for life, प्यार lively

And come an estranged voice
Jump over the notes chasing after me
Fluently आप flute the words, pour a new melody...

Ciel Parker walked down the dark, gray hallway on the चोटी, शीर्ष floor of the mental institution he worked at. His brown hair fell over his deep green eyes; the white light hanging above was too harsh for his sensitive vision. He glanced up as he walked further down the hallway, trying to see how long it was until he reached his office.

He passed cells B and C, slightly nodding as acknowledgement to the security guards standing in front of the doors. The चोटी, शीर्ष floor of Virginia’s Mental Institution held the worst patients the state had to offer. People with severe schizophrenia, extreme depression,...

Chapter 1
October, 1964

I lied awake on my bed.

I couldn’t sleep.

My mind was wandering, racing to different topics at the same time. I couldn’t stay on one subject in my mind for और than ten seconds. I was restless.

Just then, out of nowhere, I remembered something that I particularly didn’t want to remember. But I did anyway. It was something that I hated thinking about, and something that I thought about all the time. I got up, clad in only a pair of jeans, and walked over to my closet and turned on the light. I pulled down old, dusty boxes and yellowed papers off of the closet’s shelf....
