The negative reactions over here should serve as a lesson for everyone. Unreasonable, bigoted patronizers aren't really considered as fans (much has been expressed about that by some other disappointed sane fans). So exhibiting such skewed attitude is practically tantamount to "excommunicating" oneself from the fandom and categorizing oneself as [insert disparaging description].
