I was doing paperwork when Kate came in the study room. “Rachel, why aren’t आप ready!?” She sounded angry. I kept लेखन while I answered her question. “What do आप mean?” She started tapping with her feet on the ground. She was angry, now she is pissed off. “The Charity-party? आप begged on coming with me. Ring any bells?” Shit, I knew I did forget something. “I even had to ask the person who organized the charity party if आप were allowed to come. He laughed at my face and said: Of course she allowed but she will get quiet bored.” I finally looked up. Kate was wearing a black dress. She looked fabulous, I told her that, as response I got a glare. If I wasn’t ready in 10 minutes, I was dead.

Aarg, she is so…. Kate was walking through the hall. Can’t she just think for once about me? I never wanted this. Kate sighed. I’m sounding like a child. But she should have been ready. Kate was shaking her head. Exited to go to a party, like any normal teenager would be. “Why the sad face?” Audrey was sitting in the chair in front of the fireplace. When did I get here? “What do आप mean?” I didn’t want to talk with Audrey. The girl had way to sharp eyes and is a very good friend of Rachel. Audrey: “You look pretty in that dress. But आप need a different face.” She gave me a smile. “What did Rachel do?” I smiled back. “Why do आप think Rachel is the cause of my sad face?” I picked up a book that was laying on the table. I was pretending that it had all my attention. “Because Rachel is the only one, who can make आप sad and angry at the same time.” Kate flinched and thought: Yes, way to sharp eyes.

Robin was almost done changing when Bruce Wayne came in. “Why is it taking so long Dick?” Dick: “I’m almost done. Are we getting a mission? Great!! I’m tired of just training, all the time. Who are we fighting to night?” Dick looked up. Bruce wasn’t wearing his बैटमैन costume. He was wearing a suite and he looked angry. “What’s the reason that आप are wearing your robin costume?” Dick blinked. Did he forgot something? “Ehm, because we are going to the cave?” That was the wrong answer!! Bruce stayed calm. He was way too good at keeping a poker face on. Bruce: “We aren’t going to the cave tonight. Like I told you. We are going to a Charity party. Remember we still need to दिखाना up, every now and then, in public. I will wait for आप down stairs.” Bruce turned around and walked out the room. Anger filled Dicks mind. Why are we going to a stupid charity party! It’s just a waste of time. A knock on his door disturbed his thoughts. Alfred was standing at the door. “Alfred” Dick कहा as greeting. Alfred understood immediately what was wrong. “Young master, please get dressed?” Dick started to change. From sidekick of बैटमैन to Dick Grayson, the adopted son of the famous Bruce Wayne. Alfred made his बिस्तर up. “You shouldn’t be mad at Master Bruce. He just wants आप to be sometimes just a kid.” I watched Alfred with the corner of my eyes. “He knows आप like to be just Robin. And he also knows आप don’t like to hide your secret identity for yours friends. आप have great friends.” I tide my shoelaces. “If I have such a great फ्रेंड्स why do I need to keep my identity secret. And why do I need to waste my time at a stupid party, when I can be training with those great friends!” I looked at Alfred to see if he disapproved my words. Alfred: “You were born as Dick Grayson, आप became Robin. As Robin आप already have friends. But Dick Grayson also needs friends. Shall we go? Master Bruce is waiting. ”

We have been on this silly party for 20 मिनटों and I already want to go home. The only fun thing is how grown-ups talk with each other. Polite to the ones they don’t really know. Daring to the ones they want to impress. The room where the party was hold was amazing. The tables were all close to the wall. In the centre of the room was place to dance. The band was playing soft classic music. Someone took me द्वारा my arm and lead me to a table. As I expect it was Kate. She had a bright smile on her face. “I want to introduce आप to someone. Please be nice and polite to that person.” I was scared. She has been angry for weeks. Because what I कहा at the Charity-party:
“No sir, this party isn’t boring. The only thing that is boring is your chitchat. Ciao.” It was really stupid to say that to the host. After the party Kate told me I was going to every party, as punishment for being rude. At every party she has let me alone, but clearly enough she was sick and tired of my behavior at the party’s. I didn’t talk to anyone, I only looked around या like Kate कहा behaving like I’m at the Zoo. Kate waved at someone. The person Kate wanted me to meet walked towards us. “Miss Owens, nice to meet आप here.” Bruce Wayne कहा while coming closer to us. Kate: “Mister Wayne, please call me Kate.” Wow, are आप going to seduce him या do आप want to be best buddies? Bruce Wayne looked at me. “We haven’t met yet. I’m...” “I know who आप are Mister Wayne. My name is Rachel. But आप may call Miss Rachel.” The face of Mister Wayne didn’t pull a muscle. I respect him from of that moment. “You are one of the youngest here. Did आप know that?” I stared in his eyes, while saying with a smile: “I am the youngest here, Mister Wayne. Unless आप got a kid with you.” “Well, I actually I do.” Mister Wayne turned around and waved at someone. I stared at Kate confused. She just began to smile brighter. First I didn’t understand, but then it hit me. She didn’t want me to introduce to Mister Wayne, but to the person who was coming closer. He stops right in front of me.

“Dick, this is Miss Rachel and Kate.”Bruce was smiling. I looked at the older woman. “Hello Miss Rachel,” I stretch my hand, “my name is Dick Grayson.” Instead of the older woman, the girl took my hand and started to shake it. “Nice to meet you, Dick. I’m Rachel.” She was smiling. She obvious enjoyed my mistake. I let go of her hand. “My apologies.” I stared back, trying to let her see that I didn’t care. Bruce: “Well, why don’t आप two go dance.” I looked at Bruce. Was this his plan? If we dance together we will become friends? What is he thinking?! Rachel: “I’m actually a bit tired. So I just want to sit down.” It was obvious that she also didn’t want to dance. Dick: “Would आप mind if I joined you?” Rachel: “That would be nice.” I led the way to an empty table. We both sat down and both of us kept still. I don’t remember who started talking. But I know we had a very long conversation. The longest conversation I ever had. Well, that isn’t true. I had longer conversations. But this was the first conversation I really enjoyed. We found out that we have a lot in common. We both have guardians. And we both knew that our guardians succeed with their intention. We became friends.
