I felt like I was under a hypnotic spell. I couldn't control anything. I stopped when the water got a little past my waist. I then heard myself start to chant. I didn't know what I was saying, but like I कहा before I had no will power. As I was chanting, the waters started to fizz. The और I chanted, the और the waters fizzed. Then a strong head wind came. Thunder clouds formed in the sky out of nowhere. I stopped chanting and the water settled down.

As it began to rain, I walked back towards the समुद्र तट shore. When I stepped onto the beach, I instantly turned back to normal. I ran back घर in the now heavy rainfall. When I got back home, I was drenched. I looked at the clock on the hall wall. Four in the morning. I had to go to school in 2 hours! I ran upstairs to my room and fell into बिस्तर in my drenched clothes.

The अगला morning, I woke up and immediately did my morning routine. When the bus pulled up, I got on and took my usual seat. Zoey and Francine weren't there because the three of us live in different parts of town. After 3 stops, Zoey got on and took a सीट beside me. After another 3 stops, Francine got on and sat अगला to Zoey and I.

"So V, how was the birth-date with Cameron", asked Francine. She was always in my business.

"Great", I lied.

"What was so great about it?"

"Doing things together with Cameron."

I didn't have an answer to that one.

"I'm waiting for an answer, Vanessa." She sounded like my mom.

I pulled out my camera from my bag and showed the pictures to my friends.

"What is that", they screamed simutaneously.

"Keep your voices down."

"Sorry", they whispered.

"Anyways, I found out it was a sea witch."

"A sea witch? Don't they live in oceans या something", asked Francine.

"Actually-", I was interrupted द्वारा Zoey.

"Actually they can live anywhere within distance of water, like a swamp या marsh."

Know-it-all."I was getting to that."

"Sorry."

"So after I took the pictures, I ran out of there as fast as I could."

"Why?"

"I didn't expect to actually find anything, Francine."

"But आप heard the reports."

"Yeah Zoey, but it could've been anything. I mean we do live in Miami."

They both nodded in agreement.

We then arrived at school.


As we got off the bus, I saw Cameron coming towards us. I knew he was going to ask why I wasn't with him for his birthday and I had to think of a lie. I'll tell him I got sick. He'll believe that,right? He came up towards me.

"Hey Vanessa."

Francine and Zoey went inside the school.

"Hey Cameron. About our birth-date, I'm sorry."

"I know. What happened?"

"I got sick."

"With what?"

"The flu." He raised an eyebrow. Could he tell I was lying?

"Oh. Well I'm glad to see you're all better."

Phew."Maybe we could try it again tonight?"

"Sure."

"At 7?"

"At 8."

"Okay." He gave me a quick किस and went over to his friends. I then went inside the school and towards my locker. After I grabbed my necessary items for my first class, I went to my first class.
