Owarell stopped द्वारा his quarters, grabbing a small book out of a hidden panel in the दीवार before heading slowly toward the dart bay. His head full of thoughts from the पूर्व couple of nights, plus everything that had been happening recently in his life. He just wanted it to all go away for a little while, so had decided it may be nice just to take his dart down to the planet, do a little blowing up of things and some culling. That place was ripe with humans, most of them worthless. He was almost to the खाड़ी, बे when a drone stepped in front of him.
The drone's head titled questioningly "Owarell alright?"
He put his hand on the drone's shoulder. "No Desmond, Owarell not alright."
"What wrong?"
Owarell shook his head, patting Desmond's shoulder before continuing to walk down the corridor. "I am not even sure I know my friend."
------------------
She was sitting in the coffee lounge, sipping on a कारमेल coffee. It had been a quiet दिन around the hive, with amazingly little bickering. It seemed everyone was on edge lately. It was a good thing that there was a planet trip coming up. Everyone needed to get some air, and different scenery for a little while. Closing her eyes, she felt with her mind, wanting to know how he was doing. He had left the room before she was even awake, and had been avoiding her all day. The only time she saw him was when Rocky came over for some telepathy tutoring, and that was only for a few minuets. She finally found what she was looking for. Frowning, she set her coffee down, and got up to leave. He was not doing well, she could sense a lot of sadness and turmoil. He was confused. She made it about two steps before she heard a crash.
Bob landed on the floor right in front of her. He stood, brushing himself off before looking at her. "Why are आप here worshipper? Do आप not have anything to mend?"
She sighed. "No Bob, I do not have anything to mend. Owarell does not fall through ceilings, and tear everything."
He looked at her again "What?" A small chunk of ceiling fell, landing in his hair.
Incy giggled, and was going to remove it, but decided against it. Instead she just pointed "umm, Bob, आप have ceiling in your hair"
Bob shrugged, glaring at her. "I will have आप know worshipper, that I was in many Lantean battles, a little ceiling material will not harm me. One time...."
She waved her arms. "Yeah Bob, I have to go, Owarell is......" before she could even finish her sentence, he had leapt back up into the air ducts. Shaking her head, she turned and left the coffee shop, heading for the dart bay.
----------
Owarell stood looking at his dart. Luckily, the drones had managed to get Steve's graffitti off of it. He wondered if he could get away with shoving him out of one of the airlocks, but kind of doubted it. With a quick hop, he landed in the dart, and settled into the familiar seat. He lay his head back, deciding if he even really wanted to go. He was unsure of everything at this point actually. Who he was, who he was supposed to be, who he wanted to be. Up until this point, he had not really had anywhere that he actually belonged. He closed his eyes, thinking back, hoping for a glimpse of anything that would point him in the right direction.
----------------
The दिन was chilly and grey, the threat of rain hanging on the breeze. The days classes were over, and he was in the yard with the rest of the children. They were all playing games, the main one being Wraith vs Lantean. Owarell did not like the games, he would rather be left alone with his thoughts. He always got picked last for any of the games anyway, for some reason he never really got along with the other children. "Stupid Owarell" is what they always called him. He sighed, before walking over and sitting under the tree, with his "secret" book. He opened it, flipping through his drawings of far away lands and creatures, wishing he could wake up on some other planet far away from this one.
--------------
Incy was walking fairly quickly down the corridor when she saw Steve. Great, she thought, I am so not in the mood for this. She tried to act like she didn't see him, but that didn't work.
"Incy, I hear आप listen now, and आप brushed Jimmy's hair. Mine could use brushing."
She looked at him, sighing. "Steve, I really do not have time for this right now."
"But, आप have to obey, right?" he sneered.
She bit her lip, and was about to say something, when a large hand was on her arm, steering her down the corridor. She looked up. "Desmond!"
Desmond glared at Steve "you bad Wraith. Worship girl for Owarell. I bring her"
Steve spun, swirling his hair as he stomped back into his room. "Stupid drone, I will feed on आप for this"
Incy laughed "Thank आप Desmond, आप can call me Incy if आप like"
"eenkee?"
She giggled "close enough"
Desmond was pulling her down the corridor, her legs almost at a run to keep up with his rather large stride. "Owarell sad. आप help him" he looked back, and realized he was moving a bit too quickly for her. He knelt down. "climb on back. Desmond fast."
Well, this should be quite the sight she thought as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders and he picked her up, packing her on his back. She had to laugh as he ran down the hall, passing Thor, who just shook his head as if trying to decide if he really saw that. Rounding the corner, Desmond almost ran into Leeta, who looked a bit stunned. Incy yelled back as Desmond kept up the fast pace "Leeeeta!!! Bob fell through the coffee खरीडिए roof and is in the vents again" She could see Leeta facepalm before Desmond rounded the अगला corner.
----------------
He was so hungry. The खाना he had lived on his entire life no longer nourished him. He sat on the floor of the cell, holding his book on his lap, staring at the human. It was getting harder to resist feeding on him. He wasn't even sure how this was supposed to work, although he was assured it would come naturally. Pulling his knees to his chest, he rest his forehead, and rocked back and forth slowly. Why should he have to take another life just to eat, it just seemed wrong.
The older Wraith sneered at him. "Stupid Owarell, this is what we are, we are vastly superior to any other race in the galaxy. These humans are nothing और than food." He pushed Owarell with his boot. "You might as well be a drone, आप would probably be और useful" He then left, slamming the cell door behind him. Turning he growled "you will stay in here until आप feed या die. I do not care which comes first"
-----------------
Desmond slowed down when they reached the bridge in the dart bay. He walked directly in the middle of the bridge, almost too slow Incy thought. "Desmond, why are we going so slow?"
"Me scared आप fall. आप fall, Owarell be और sad"
"This bridge is really wide Desmond, I am sure I will be fine" she said, trying to convince him that it really was okay.
"No, Desmond have bad dream. Worship g... Eenkee fall, Owarell cry."
She was a bit shocked, she didn't even know that the Drones could dream. What else didn't she know about them...
"We dream. We no stupid. They no teach us. They no talk to us until need chore. Owarell different. He nice." He finally set her down, safely across the bridge, near Owarell's dart.
"Desmond, if आप come द्वारा our quarters later, I will teach आप so no one will think आप are stupid" She smiled, and then was quite shocked when he picked her up sqeezing her with a huge hug.
"Eenkee nice. Me come later to learn"
-----------------
His hair was just starting to turn a pale pink. It streaked through his black hair, hanging in ropes down his back. He had just come through the gate with a group of Wraith. Most of them around his age, but a few older ones as well. This was his first mission. He was a bit nervous, he had recently been scolded for failing to pay attention at the mission meeting. How hard could it be. They were just here to check the population, and take a handful of humans back to the hive.
He heard screaming, and saw a group of about twenty humans running toward his location. They were looking to the sky behind them, and running blindly. The other Wraith ran in their direction, stunners in hand. He looked to the sky to see what they were running from when he saw it. Some massive flying beast with leathery wings. He stared in awe, it was one of the most amazing creatures he had ever seen. It flew down, snatching one of the humans in the group. The Wraith fired on it with their stunners, but they had no effect rather than to annoy the beast, and it flew in a large circle, then swooped down toward the humans again. He was so engrossed in watching the creature, that he didn't even hear his name being yelled. Nor did he notice when the older Wraith telepathically contacted him.
He received a huge crack to the back, knocking him to the ground. अगला was a kick to the ribs. He rolled over, looking up at the one of the older Wraith.
"I should just kill आप now, worthless Wraithling" The Wraith growled.
He tried to sit up, and received a heavy boot to the chest. He blinked, and saw a stunner pointed at his face. He had screwed up again. He was informed that 5 humans ran past him while he was too busy staring at the beast in the sky. His eyes averted from the Wraith back to the sky as he heard the flapping of wings. Just one और glance was all he wanted, it was such a magnificent creature. He was greeted द्वारा a flash of light, then everything went black.
----------------------
She stood अगला to the dart looking at him. He looked as if he were asleep, but she knew he wasn't. He was लॉस्ट deep in thought, and quite troubled. She wanted to climb up and comfort him somehow, but she wasn't sure exactly what to do, if she could even do anything for him. She felt the large hands on her waist, as Desmond picked her up, setting her on the front of the dart.
"You help Owarell. Bad things happen to him. आप help him." With that, he turned and walked back across the bridge, heading out of the bay.
She sighed, carefully studying Owarell's face. His jaw was tight, his brow furrowed, something was obviously bothering him a great deal. She wanted to peek into his mind and see what it was, but thought better of it, as she didn't want to intrude if it was something he would rather no one see. He had not shared much of his life with anyone on the hive. Most Wraith would brag of their missions, and have rather detailed stories of everything they accomplished. Owarell never कहा much, other than he had training on Betty's hive. She sat there silently, watching him. When he needed her, she would know.
----------------------
His hair fully pale गुलाबी now, hung midway down his back. His goatee also the same color was getting fairly long. His face still itched a bit from the tattoo he had received the week before. He feared he would not even be able to get one, as there was much discussion on if he even deserved the honor. He had overheard the other Wraith talking about it. This was no honor, they only let him get it "so the idiot will shut up". He sighed as he patted the front of his jacket, making sure he still had his book. He was headed to the hibernation chamber, the whole hive was shutting down. This would be his first hibernation, and he was a bit apprehensive about it. When he got to the chamber room, he noticed there were different areas for ranks. Well, it looked like he was going to be द्वारा himself. He had recently been sent her for some training, but had mostly been forced to do menial tasks. "Stupid Owarell fetch me this, stupid Owarell fetch me that" they pretty much treated him like a drone.
This is surprisingly peaceful he thought. He wasn't awake, but he wasn't really asleep either, at least not his mind. The various तस्वीरें were like a flood, and overwhelmed him until he learned to control what to see. He saw many worlds, many people, many creatures. He saw तस्वीरें of the Lantean wars, and many other wars that came after.
The darkness was overwhelming. There were no images, nothing. He was alone. His mind in a panic, but his body would not wake up. Had they forgotten about him? How long would he remain here alone in the darkness. Hibernation was not so peaceful without the तस्वीरें from the other Wraith. He was left with nothing but his memories, and what he could remember from the तस्वीरें that he had watched for a very long time.
Two of the older Wraith were laughing with each other. "Just leave him in there until after अगला cycle. It is not like he is very useful. Carrying around that stupid book he draws in."
"I doubt anyone would notice he is missing anyway"
"maybe after the अगला cycle we can pawn him off on someone else, just say he finished his training"
Again with तस्वीरें flashing. New images, new adventures, new creatures, new people. He was crushed, they had left him in for an entire cycle. No one thought to wake him. He began to think maybe he was left on purpose. He then blocked all of the images, not wanting to see anything else. He would stay in darkness until they decided to wake him.
---------------
Her jaw was clenched, and she was angry. She had decided to peek in on his mind and couldn't believe what she saw. Now she knew why he never talked about his past, and she was furious with the way he had been treated. Her Wraith was a dreamer, there was nothing wrong with that. He should not have been punished for that, why was there only science and warrior? Where was a place for those who used their imagination.... She saw a solitary tear roll down his face, and couldn't be silent any longer. She climbed down into the cockpit, onto his lap. She reached out, lightly tracing his tattoo with her finger when he opened his eyes. Those bright golden eyes, the ones usually filled with wonder at the smallest thing, were now full of sadness.
Owarell blinked, a bit stunned. He did not even know she had come to see him. He wondered how long she had been here, if she had seen anything. There was nothing he could thing of to say, his mind now going in circles. She had such an intense look on her face, and anger, she was angry. "Stupid Owarell, what did आप do now" he mumbled.
She shook her head, blinking back tears. "Please, do not call youself stupid, and आप did nothing wrong. Why did आप not tell me any of this?"
He looked down, "Because I am a failure as a Wraith. I do not have the arrogance, I do not wish to rule the galaxy, I do not wish to spend my life fighting for a Queen. I want to fly, I want to ...." he sighed before continuing. " I want to explore, I want to see new places, I want to...." he leaned forward, putting his head on her chest and wrapping his arms around her waist.
She smoothed down his hair, then rest her head on his. "Then explore. We are above a rather large planet, and I have been down there a lot of times. आप do not need to stay on this hive all of the time. Look at Gordon, he takes off and does whatever he wants, whenever he wants"
He held her even tighter. "Thank आप for staying with me, thank आप for never calling me stupid, thank आप for caring enough to come down to this damn dart खाड़ी, बे and put up with me"
Laughing slightly, she kissed the चोटी, शीर्ष of his head. "You better put on your best Wraith face before Bob sees आप like this, आप know आप will never hear the end of it, well, neither will I, because he will probalby start telling us stories of ducts and wars."
He finally looked up, slight smile on his face. "I actually feel a little better. It is nice that someone knows all of the things I have been trying to forget" He reached into his jacket, pulling out the book. "I would like to दिखाना this to you. No one else has ever seen what is inside"
Incy scooted and turned around, sitting on his lap, leaning back against his chest as he flipped through the book, दिखा रहा है her pictures he'd drawn of mythical creatures, and telling her the stories he made up to go with them. She smiled, he was a great artist. She would have to take a trip down to the planet later, and get him some supplies. There was no way she was going to let his imagination go to waste.
