Nerissa woke up to a horrendous pounding in her head. She pushed herself upright. One मिनट she was in Candracar...she was dead. And now, she was...where was she exactly? She was in a bedroom--was it her own? She couldn't tell. There was a small ceiling fan, spinning in lazy circles. In the left corner of the room, not one dresser but two, both made of some dark wood were pushed neatly against a purple-painted wall. अगला to both was a walk in closet (door slightly ajar). Pulled over the window, a set of dark purple curtains. And on her side of the बिस्तर was a nightstand adorned with a small ornate lamp, a glass of water, and a book.
Wait? Her side of the bed?! A man lie undisturbed--looking way too cozy in her bed. He had curly sandy blonde hair and a scruffy goatee. He rolled onto his back, slinging both arms lazily across the bed.
Nerissa would kill Will for this. She'd kill all of them. But an earlier thought resurfaced itself. Wasn't she dead?
She thought back. या she tried to. To anything the Oracle may have mentioned about the death of a Guardian. And the answer she recalled left her with twice as many questions.
