‘Killjoys’ Renewed for Final Two Seasons द्वारा Syfy 

Syfy series “Killjoys,” which airs its Season 3 finale on Friday, has been renewed for two more seasons, which will be the show’s last. The network announced that “Killjoys” will return for a fourth season in 2018, and the sci-fi action hour will end after Season 5. The two seasons will round out the “Killjoys” saga with 20 additional episodes. 

“This renewal is the kind of privilege every creator hopes for — a chance to plan the end of your story with the luxury of 20 episodes to do it,” said creator, showrunner, and executive producer Michelle Lovretta. “I’m immensely grateful that both of our network partners — along with Temple Street and UCP — have given our team, cast, and fans this incredible opportunity.”

“Killjoys” chronicles the adventures of Dutch (Hannah John-Kamen), and brothers Johnny Jaqobis (Aaron Ashmore) and D’avin Jaqobis (Luke Macfarlane) as they roam the Quad, a

  strife-torn corner of the galaxy. This season, their careers as space bounty hunters were frequently put on hold as they fought the powerfully enhanced Hullen, a serious threat to the Quad and beyond. The key Hullen forces were led by Aneela, a calculating warrior with whom Dutch has a special connection (John-Kamen plays both Dutch and Aneela).

“Killjoys,” according to my own 2016 review, “has flirtatious banter, a spaceship run by a tartly intelligent AI, a politically active religious order, ‘Orphan Black’-style meditations on extreme body modifications, simmering romances, a charismatic bartender, a mysterious order called ‘Level Six’ and explosions on alien worlds. … It’s a light, well-made, zippy TV show that knows what it is and delivers solid action, adventure, and character development despite its limited budget.”

The series is from Temple Street, a division of Boat Rocker Studios and Universal Cable Productions. Universal Cable Productions distributes the series worldwide, except for Canada. Lovretta serves as executive producer, along with Karen Troubetzkoy, Fortier, and Schneeberg.

So sad I love this show, but once they decide something it is like that. Dark matter was boring really from beginning and I was even surprised that they got season 3. I already lost 5 tv-shows this year and this year has been the worst year of my life.

It will be canceled after the firth season anyways.

Once again Siffy renews a show with no ratings…

I like both Dark Matter and Killjoys. Stop wasting money on garbage like Blood Drive and other horror crap and renew Dark Matter. SyFy is supposed to be the science fiction channel. Launch a HorrorFy channel for all the horror stuff.

Gave up on Dark Matter after just a few episodes, but I love Killjoys!

I guess SYFY liked what they saw here and worked out the financials. The ratings were so horribly low on both(but FAILURE is OKAY at SYFY) so I expected both shows to be renewed. Especially since Wynonna Earp was renewed. Its live ratings dropped, but SYFY didn’t have a problem with that.

Actually Dark Matter was one of their top watched shows. Killjoys…not so much. But Killjoys had a nuked budget in season three and was the cheaper option because of it. The CGI especially took a terrible hit. Regardless, executives will always renew the cheaper of two options, regardless of viewers.

No offense to Killjoys but it should have been Dark Matter that got this treatment.

Excellent! I abandoned Dark Matter after the 1st season, but love Killjoys, great to see it can go out with some dignity… and 2 more years of the beautiful Ashmore…

I enjoy this series, but if I had to choose between Killjoys and Dark Matter, I would choose the latter. Happy about Killjoys but the cancellation of Dark Matter really takes a lot away from that.

I can’t believe this crap! Dark Matter gets canceled and they renew this garbage for 2 more? Bunch of bull!

In the absence of ratings, shows with the “right” connections get renewed even if nobody watches them…
