Honestly, I think the media is over hyping it. It was a great movie and all, I liked it! But it was basically this:
-Joy and Sadness lose way out of HQ
-Joy and Sadness have to find way back to HQ
-Disgust, Fear, and Anger screw up Riley while J&S are finding their way back

It had emotion, character development, and all the touchy-feely stuff, but I wouldn't call it "the best movie of the year" or anything like that.
I DID like the movie, there were a few funny parts I chuckled at (especially the scenes in the credits. I loved the bus driver and the cat xD), but it didn't become my favorite Disney Pixar movie.

All that said, Disgust is best emotion.

Spoilers Alert

Disclaimer: For people who don't really like to read a lot or just people who doesn't want any spoilers , you can skip to the last paragraph when I just give a short summary on it.

I liked it. The movie had some great characters and was surprisingly more accurate then I thought to the human system that is "emotions". I also thought the emotions themselves were great characters though a bit standard, but I can forgive that since it fits the context of the movie. As for the strong emotion impact, I think it was lacking a bit because of the unrealistic setting and the recklessness of the characters themselves. When Joy just left Sadness all alone by her self then got punished for it by being in Sadness presentation. To only kill Bing Bong who went suicide for an unexplained reason. All of that to me seems like a bad emotional scenes (that lead to development in case anyone is wondering when they get to the end) since everything seemed too forced and unrealistic. Also the run away scene seemed too dramatic for my taste.None of it felt like it was thought through good enough. The emotions didn't really act like they put enough thought into their plan. Besides even if it was;We all know that Riley wasn't really going to run away since it was way too late in the film to build up that drama. In all honesty I wished they would've just stuck with the humor alone. Since it would've made it so much of a better movie. Besides we already had a really emotional movie that, did that job better.(I'm referring to Big Hero 6)Besides that though I can't really complain about any other huge problems or at least anything else thought bothered me.The only thing that's left is praising it for the same things BCG went over. So I'll just end it here.

Overall I think it had great characters, humor, designs, concept, story and was pretty accurate to the human system that is "emotions", but it lacked in two major things emotion and character development. Ending score is 8.2/10

I LOVED IT. I think it was a "more original" concept than Disney has produced in A WHILE. I think Wreck-It Ralph and Big Hero Six were the last ones with an original storyline, that wasn't borrowed from somewhere else. Still, I think it was a solid movie and it had a lot of adult themes and issues ( growing up, shifting priorities, making new friends, starting a new life). I think Inside Out did well in covering a large audience: it spoke to children, without forgetting the child inside all of us adults... <3

I liked Inside Out more than Big Hero Six, but perhaps that was because I thought the "bad guy's motivation" in Big Hero Six was extremely lousy. I understood why he was grieving over losing his daughter, but I never got why he stole Hiro's stuff in the first place. So I do like Inside Out more.

It isn't perfect, no movie is. But is still AMAZING! But is still cute, fun, characters are likeable and there are some genuine tearjerking moments. Not to mention, there are many original ideas.
