Sam Raimi Wants Six Villains for 'Spider-Man 4' 

they should have gotten the clue that 1-2 villiansis all we need not 3 or 6.

They can't be serious about 6 villains - if they are, Sam Raimi's gone crazy. We all know that multiple villains didn't work in Spidey 3

Kind of a lame blog entry, given that the author hasn't even SEEN the film on which he's basing his opinion.

But I think the number of villains isn't as important as the number of stories that are presented. You could easily have Doc Ock and the Sandman return (remember that news of Doc Ock's return was all over "Spider-man 3" in the background?) without having to re-tell their stories, the Vulture's story is pretty simple, and the Lizard's story is halfway told already. I could see having multiple villains if we know their stories already - the problem comes in when you have to introduce all the villains in the same movie.
