I pulled myself away from Edward, ashamed of how I had just threw myself at him. One of my hands wrapped around my waist, the other hand went to my mouth in shock. "I'm sorry." I stepped to the side and started to walk around him when he pulled at my hand on my mouth.

"Don't regret it." His eyes were pleading, and mine started to hear up.

"No." I shook my head. "I don't."

"Then don't walk away." He sighed. "Please."

I nodded and stayed. "It's just," I started "I threw myself at you. I'm upset about the way I acted. That, and now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure I have been leadin आप on all week. And I am so sorry because I'm not ready for another relationship. After the way Jacob treated me, and I'm not sayin someone else will do the same, I just can't bring myself to that point yet."

"And I don't blame you." Edward shook his head. "But you're crazy if आप think that आप have been leadin' me on. I'm not sayin' that I don't want you, because I do, I'm not going to lie, but I too just got out of a really crappy relationship and I can wait for you. And if आप don't pick me then, hey. I just want आप to get what you're holdin out for."

"I'm holdin' out for a hero." I gave him a smile and sniffed as I wiped away a tear.

"Let's get back to the gang." He took my hand, in the friendly way, and led us back up creek to our friends.

"Where ya'll been?!" Emmett shouted. "You better not've violate my sister." A few of his words slured together, and the glass bottle in his hand didn't leave us without a hit to why.

"No." Edward laughed.

"Good. Cause I would hate ta have'ta kill my new BFF." He grinned.

"Okay." Rosalie dragged out the end of the word. "I think it's time for us to go back and get some sleep."

"Me too." Alice jummped up off Jasper's lap and stretched with a wide yawn.

Rose pulled the half empty बीयर, बियर bottle out of Emmett's hand and stood, pulling him up with her. "Come on biggen'."

Emmett grined and took her hand leading us all back to camp. The only noise around was our footfalls on the ground and few few soft animal noises here and there. That is, utnil Emmett's scared us all द्वारा belting out in some song.

Rose glared at him and punched his shoulder. "Would आप shut tha hell up? I heard every bird with in a 5 mile radius take off out of these trees."

He just laughed. "Oh God, that's funny."

I couldn't help but crack a smile and turned to see Edward hlding his head down holding back a laugh. God he was beautiful.

When we reached the camper, Bella told me she wasn't quit tired yet, so I built us a आग outside while everyone else went inside to sleep.
WE sat across from each other, talking about a bunch of nothing, really. Things she did in high school, things I did in high school. We laughed until we cried. Then she sun started comming up, and I relized the last time I watch the sun come up was back in school. Back before Peter.

"You okay?" Bella's small voice floated across to me. "You're lookin' kinda'...sad."

"Yeah." I let out a brath. "I was...I was thinkin about my brother." I leaned down on my elbows and crosed my fingers, my head turned up to the lighting sky.

"I didn't know आप have a brother."

"I did."

"Oh." Bella's voice was regretful. "I'm sorry."

I shook my head. "Not your fault."

It was quiet for a moment. "What happened to him?"

I sucked in a breath. Did I really want to talk about it?

"You don't have to answer. I'm sorry." Bella shook her head.

"No, it's okay. I'll tell you." I cleared my throat and sat a little straighter. "He was 6 when I was born. Mom कहा the only reason I never got hurt as a child was because Peter was always there. Always. My first दिन of kindergarten he was the one that walked me to my class. When I started junior high he was a senior, but he drove me to school every mornin and picked me up every afternoon before he had football practice. He was usually late, but no one got on to him for it. Not after he chewed them out the first and last time someone कहा something." I smiled at the memory. "I drive his truck. That same truck he used to take me to and from school in. He would take me to baseball games and out to eat, just me and him. He complained about how much gas it guzzeled, but he still took me.

I was a 18 when he was deployed to Iraq. I was scared. But he wasn't. He was gone for fourteen months, then he came back for his one महीना break. That was the last time I saw him. four months after he was redeployed he and his four other mates were in a humvee. They rolled over a land mine." I heard Bella gasp, but I kept on. "Only one of the guys that was in the truck survived. He has no legs, but he's alive. When Ian came back into the states he tracked us down and sent me a letter. And with that letter was a picture. It was Peter and I back when he was on his महीना break. It was burned a little around the edges, but that was the only thing wrong. He also sent me back his dog-tages. They are hanging in my rearview mirror." I pulled my wallet out of my pocket and pulled out the picture, handing it to Bella who had moved to sit beside me.

"His death kind of killed me in a way. My brother and best friend, just gone. My senoir साल I was the most awful kid. Drinking and partying all the time, failing at school, and doing stupid shit. It wasn't until I had a dream I saw my mother crying, that I really stopped and noticed what I was doing. She was talking to Peter, which made it worse, about how I was breaking her दिल and she didn't know how to control me anymore. I just walked over and hugged her and Peter, apoligized and swore to my mother, myself, and Peter that I would change. And I did.

Then I met Kate. She was the one person that brought me out of my funk. She was funny, and smart, and sweet. And as time went on, she started changing. I didn't see it of course because I thought I was 'in love'." I scoffed. "I walked in our room 6 weeks after I purposed to her riding some guy in our Physics II class. I told her to pack her stuff and be gone before I got back. Two hours later she was gone and my house was for sale. Three weeks after that I'm living at घर and finishing college. Then I find myself telling a girl I just met my life story about two months after graduating."
I looked up and smiled at her.

"And here आप are." She giggled.
"Here I am." I smiled.
