I remembered there were good wholesome shows Like "Leave It To Beaver" where the dad smokes on a pipe and reads a newspaper. Back then kids were not degraded and society was starting to change with the Baby Boom. So, cartoons are not at fault especially classic cat and mouse cartoons. When you look at society today, mainly news media (CNN) they glorify the bad influences and never the good - i.e. Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, O.J., Osama, and let's not forget how they replay Sept. 11th over-and-over again. The reason why kids are screwed up doing smoking and drugs is because society as a whole are starting to have screwed up values and you can witness that from corporations owning tv stations and media right up to the government itself. I have watched Tom and Jerry when I was a kid - I don't smoke and my parents at that time would whoop my ass if I smoked. Today, we have parents that let their 12yr old daughters dress up like whores (Bratz toys anyone) and don't really care if there kids smoke or do drugs or even don't bother to pay attention. So In Conclusion, Don't blame cartoons blame yourselves for not being parents and blame news media who feed negatives rather positives to viewers. posted एक साल से अधिक पुराना.

Kids shouldn't be copying anything they see in this show, so I'm not sure why someone found the smoking scenes threatening to viewers but not the scenes where they put each other in ovens or eat explosives. posted एक साल से अधिक पुराना.
