There are no excuses for cruelty !

there are reasons but not excuses.

science would be no where without cruelty but at the same time does that make it right...

I'm sure it does not make it right........

i know it isn't right but i am in a position to say that because of some of the unsavoury research that has been carried out in the name of humanity.

I can see where you are coming from but any form of cruelty for whatever reason is wrong......

I agree with both of you. My only way of coping is by blindfolding myself and mashing my fingers into my ears and screaming "LA LA LA LALALALA!" in blissful ignorance.

I wouldn't necessarily call it cruelty though - we need to look after our species!

I'm not saying that animals aren't important, I think they really are (and I think they should be treated better), but I think curing diseases and easing the suffering of millions is a definite priority!!
