That's what happened with Twilight! they were great books but the stupid producers screwed with the movie script and now no body like Twilight any more! I think they couldn't include her becuase they'd somehow have to explain who Madge is and how she's the mayor's daughter... so that it wouldn't seem like a random girl gives Katniss a pin for no reason and then never appears again. It looks like anyone can get the mockingjay pin (the way Katniss got the pin in the movies) when it was actually given by Madge. The pin belonged to Maysilee Donner, Madge's aunt, so are they going to adapt Maysilee out too?. Despite madge being a minor character, she had an important role to the plot .
