Ringo made his way alone through the darkened streets. Disobeying his own सलाह to the people of England, he wandered, up one सड़क, स्ट्रीट and down another. He wasn't sure exactly what he was looking for, but he wanted to find someplace that felt special, like that clifftop in Dover, like the places John and George had described. In the nighttime, all he could think about was finding a special object to call his own.
Ringo wasn't sure where he was exactly. He could tell that he had made it to a city, but had no way of knowing which city. Every now and then he passed someone on the street. Ringo didn't stop them to ask questions. This was only partly because he didn't want to look silly not knowing what city he was in. He couldn't tell, in the dim light, whether these people still had souls.
Ringo didn't know how long he'd been wandering for. He could feel a yawn coming on, and his legs felt tired. His whole body felt tired from a constant lack of sleep. Maybe he should just go back, he thought wearily, and rejoin his mates. They could all go looking for a special object tomorrow....
And then what if it chose John या George या Paul instead of him? No... it couldn't hurt to look around a little longer....
Besides, looking around him, Ringo realized he wasn't even sure of the way back.
Ringo noticed a pitch-black alleyway to his right. It was the sort of place that most people would stay well away from. Ringo peered inside, still unable to see a thing. Did this count as a special hiding place? He wasn't sure... maybe he could feel something strange, but that might just as easily have been his tired brain.
Anyway, this was a place where most people wouldn't go, which meant that an Object might be hidden here. And Ringo, who had once been a teddy boy in Liverpool, was not afraid of dark alleyways.
Cautiously, he stepped inside. Everything was dark and still. Did that mean this was a special hiding place? Ringo's दिल sped with excitement, and his pace quickened. Maybe here, he would find the special object that would choose him, and with that object द्वारा his side, he could easily find his way back to his mates, who would be so happy for him....
Suddenly, this train of thought was cut off. Ringo took a step forward, unable to see in the blackness that there was nothing there to step on. Down he fell, down a long deep hole, stopping with a jarring crash at the bottom.
Where was he? The floor of the pit felt unpleasantly warm and muddy. He could hear water dripping down the walls. As he stood, there seemed to be a slight echo in the chamber, too.
Ringo went round and round the pit, feeling the walls, और and और urgently each time, searching for a way out. In one place he found a grate, like a storm drain. It was bolted to the दीवार from the other side, and Ringo couldn't seem to budge it. Apart from that, या somehow climbing up to the hole he'd fallen through, there was nothing else. The whole setup reminded Ringo uncomfortably of something, but he couldn't think what.
And just as he was rattling the bars of the storm grate for the fifth या seventh time, there was the sound of something clunking down on चोटी, शीर्ष of the hole. Ringo found himself plunged into an even deeper blackness than before, something he hadn't thought possible. The air seemed instantly harder to breathe.
या maybe that was just Ringo's breath catching in his throat, as he suddenly remembered what it was this place reminded him of. The story of the Beast and his underwater prison... the place in the Thames where the Beatles had seen his paw print....
This place was just like something the Beast might be able to control. And now Ringo was trapped in it.
Ringo froze in terror as the idea sank in. He had just been captured द्वारा the Beast of Bodmin Moor, who might come along at any moment to suck out his soul.

"Ringo!"
"Ringo-o-o-o!"
"Where did he get off to?"
John, George, and Paul searched all around the rocks that surrounded their campsite. They wandered up and down nearby, not caring anymore who might see them and disapprove of what they were doing. They needed to find Ringo.
"Did anyone notice how he looked last night?" remarked George, as the threesome gathered द्वारा the rocks, unable to find Ringo anywhere near their campsite.
"No," Paul replied. "I was mostly looking at me new - um - well, आप know," he finished, a little embarrassed to admit how much he enjoyed having superhuman strength whenever he liked. "How did he look, then?" he added hastily.
"He didn't look very happy, seemingly," replied George, in that delicate way he always used when he was about to say something that was very important but decidedly bad news. "He was quiet all day, too. I think he might be mad at us."
"Mad at us?" echoed Paul disbelievingly. "What did we do to him?" He pulled out the Titanium Pound Coin and closed his fist around it as though this would soothe his agitation.
"Can't imagine, son." John shook his head and pulled out the Sword of Truth as though this might give him the answer.
"I don't know meself..." George put in thoughtfully, taking out the Jar of Green Marmite Yeast extract and absently dipping his finger in.
The three Beatles looked at each other. They looked at their objects. "Oh, no!" कहा Paul.
John frowned. "It had to be him what was last, didn't it?"
George just looked sadly from the Sword to the Coin to the Yeast. "Come on," he said. "We've got to find him before he does something rash."
The three Beatles ran along the pathway. They had no idea which way Ringo might have gone, but there weren't that many choices. Either he'd headed out into the ocean - which wasn't likely at all - या he'd headed into the nearest city. So the Beatles went towards the city.
In the light of the day, it was much easier navigating the streets than it had been for Ringo. John, George, and Paul saw signs that told them they were in Bristol. They must have traveled quite a long way yesterday, but if John was right, then as long as they weren't anywhere too near London, Liverpool, या Dover, they were in the right place. या at least, in as good a place as any. But first they had to find their missing mate.
"Ringo!" Paul, George, and John continued to call as they made their way, like he had, up one सड़क, स्ट्रीट and down another. What time had Ringo come out here? How far had he wandered? He had waited till sunrise, when he could actually see where he was going, hadn't he?
Not that that made too much difference - there didn't seem to be a single car on the road. Perhaps और people in Bristol had listened to the Beatles' warning. There was no telling, though, if Ringo might have run into a soulless person, या a whole crowd of them like in Liverpool, या something even worse. George, John, and Paul all felt decidedly nervous, and they couldn't shake the feeling that something had happened to their bandmate.
"There's someone moving up there," Paul pointed out with relief, looking ahead to the अगला block.
"That's not Ringo," कहा George unnecessarily; any Beatle would know right away if he was looking at another Beatle, even from that distance. But this person wasn't moving as though he was soulless, and it was a relief to see someone, anyone, after wandering through the empty streets with only their feelings of dread to keep them company.
Besides, another person might remember seeing Ringo Starr if he had seen him earlier.
Paul waved as the three Beatles moved closer to the figure. "Excuse me, mister..."
The man turned and looked at them, and marched आगे with a frown. It was a policeman Paul had waved down, and the look on his face suggested he wasn't going to be at all helpful. He looked just about the same as the bus driver the lads had met yesterday.
Paul stopped as soon as he saw this, but he had already attracted the attention of the disapproving policeman, who made his way purposefully towards the Beatles. For one moment, Paul wondered if he was going to tell them that he knew what had happened to Ringo, and prayed that it was good news if he was, but then the policeman spoke.
"John Winston Lennon?"
What was he singling out John for? John frowned and gave the policeman a look that कहा he was beneath John's notice. "That's right, policeman."
"There's been a complaint coming into police stations all over England that आप threatened a bus driver yesterday with a sword," the policeman कहा in an authoritative voice. "I didn't know whether to believe that last bit, but..." His eyes moved to John's belt, where John's hand automatically moved to protect his special object. "I'm going to have to take आप in. You're under arrest."

Jim McCartney was sitting in his hotel room the अगला morning, feeling upset and tired. He hadn't gotten much sleep last night, and neither had the Harrisons. They had been in New York for over a week now, and still no sign of their sons. Jim was beginning to wonder if he was ever going to see Paul again.
The British band he had heard of, the one he'd been so certain would lead him to Paul, had vanished off the radar. Maybe they knew the police were looking for them and had slipped quietly underground. They would have taken Paul and the Harrisons' boy, George, with them, and who knew where they...

Harold Harrison went straight to the police station and waited in line. It was a different officer this time he spoke to, a और personable man than the last one.
"A check of the Liverpool airports? One moment, sir. I'll see what we've turned up." He turned around to some workers behind him and made some inquiries. "All right, let's see what's turned up. I'm sure we'll find your son," he added kindly. "Here we are... teenagers at the airport yesterday... no reports of any teenagers who weren't with their parents... except this one, here."
Mr Harrison raised his head immediately. "Where? Is it...

Back in Liverpool, things with the Harrisons were not going nearly so well. When the plane had taken off without Geo, Mrs Harrison had made her way purposefully to the front and insisted that the plane crew radio down to the New York airport and tell them to find her missing son. The crew had listened to her, but द्वारा that time, Geo had already left with Paul, Ringo, and Winston. So when the airplane landed in Liverpool, the Harrisons rushed to the front डेस्क and demanded news of their son. The Liverpool agent got in touch with the New York airport and listened for a मिनट या two, only to turn...

In a very short time, Paul and Winston - which probably wasn't his real name, but as long as he had to hide his own name, Paul could hardly expect Winston to reveal his - were riding pleasantly along on two bikes borrowed from Aunt Mimi's garage. Winston had left a little note thanking her for them, which Paul hadn't seen, so he didn't know whether Winston had put his real name on it.
"Won't she get mad that you're takin' those bikes?" he'd asked.
"Probably." Winston had grinned broadly. Then, slyly, "How about your folks? They mad about आप being here right now?"
Paul had blushed and dropped...

It was late afternoon, and James Paul McCartney was coming घर from another fun-filled दिन in Liverpool. Today, as usual, had been filled with a lively combination of rock-and-roll and girls, and as he made his way home, there were still two curly-haired girls on his arm, a brunette in a purple dress and a blonde in a green dress. The girls were giggling at everything Paul said, while he was still गाना some of the songs he'd played on the jukebox, his gorgeous voice standing out even when he used it casually like this. The girls tried to sing along, but couldn't match him; however, they...

Ringo turned round.
The leaves ahead of him were rustling, and he could just hear a sort of snuffling breathing mixed in with the growling he'd heard. What was happening?! The Beast of Bodmin Moor wasn't supposed to be here! The Orb of Protection was! But Ringo could tell the Beast was there.
Ringo didn't stop to think. He turned and ran, trying to push his way through the thick trees. Behind him, he could hear the menacing growl of a Beast ready to pounce. He tried to हटाइए faster, but it was difficult to see his way, and his drums slowed him down even more.
Wait - his drums....
It was his only...

The waves swept the बेड़ा down the tunnel. Paul clung to the edge with one hand, having just enough presence of mind to clutch his बास with the other. The बेड़ा swooped up and down, and he was beginning to feel vaguely seasick. The look on Ringo's face as he half-lay on चोटी, शीर्ष of his drum kit told him that he wasn't the only one.
Was this just a natural side effect of floating through tunnels that were probably part of the sewer system, या was there a और sinister reason behind this? Well, no matter - first the Beatles had to get off this crazy ride!
With an effort, Paul looked round, squinting...

John was still tired after his first long sleep in days when the Beatles woke up the अगला morning, but the others were full of nervous energy, hardly able to believe they had survived the night. They were really going to have to do something about this.
"Isn't one of them objects an Orb of Protection या something?" Ringo mentioned as the Fab Four made their way to the bus stop, where they planned to either ride या drive a bus to Dover and the coastline.
"I think so," George replied with a nod, "and Benevolence too, I think it was."
"Well, I wish we had that now," Ringo said, "so's we could sleep...

George looked determined. "We won't crash," he said, "not if I can help it!" And with that, he grabbed the first tool he could find - a pair of tweezers from the first aid kit - and made his way over to one of the windows, as purposefully as he could with the train's movement pitching him in all directions. John, Paul, and Ringo held on to each other and to any handles they could find on the train, trying to stop themselves from falling over, watching George desperately.
George made his way to a window and gave it a good kick. He had to do this a few times, but on the fourth try, his foot made...

A short while later, a train set out from the station. The underground had been almost completely deserted, and it did seem that whoever was supposed to be driving the train had stayed घर from work that day. When the train left, it had only three passengers - John, Paul, and George. Ringo was driving.
The Beatles had made only one stop on their way to the station - they had gone back to the theatre they had performed in the other day, and had picked up their two guitars, left-handed bass, and small drum kit. They had no real reason for doing this - just that they felt a lot better with their...

Paul, George and Ringo looked at John. "You do?"
"Did आप remember another legend that tells us where them things are?" Ringo added hopefully.
"I told you, that wouldn't help us," John said. "But that bank with the smashed-up window will."
George frowned. "How?" he sing-songed. "Paul was right; a beast doesn't need to rob a bank."
"Exactly," John told him. "Not unless there's something in there he doesn't want anyone to find. Something we could use to destroy him and that."
Paul's eyes were wide. "Then आप think...."
George was still frowning. "I thought them things were hidden in King Richard's...
