This may come as a shock to some, because it seems to be the most popular of the three here. I, however, like the first game the most. The level designs absolutely amazed me at how open and free they are. You really feel like you’re exploring the unknown, or going somewhere the level designers didn’t plan for you to go to, until it turns out there’s some gems hidden there or something! I love all three of the original games, but when I think about it, the first is my favourite, followed by the second, followed by the third.

I disagree a 100%. Well, maybe 99%, because the levels in the first Spyro feel indeed way more open than they do in the future Spyro games. My favourite is actually the second Spyro game though, because of nostalgia, and because of some of the music. I recognize Year of the Dragon as the best Spyro game in the trilogy though. It's more of the same as Spyro 2, but it's just bigger, better, and more beautiful in every way.

Besides, I don't like how slidey the charging feels in the original Spyro ^^'
