I chose no, because he doesn't. Just because he saved and looks after Rin, Kohaku and even let Kagome follow him while in Naraku’s body, refrained from killing Sango when she attacked Naraku knowing she would be putting Rin’s life in serious danger (Sesshomaru knew she was being manipulated by Naraku and wasn’t going to fall for his tricks—he’s too smart and aware for that, so of course he wouldn’t kill her) doesn't mean he's developed a kind heart towards ALL humans, or cares about humanity, which is to what the question applies. Yes they are human, but this I believe is entirely irrelevant. It's doesn't really seem to matter what they are or Rin is, Rin could have been a tray kitten or a lost puppy, that somehow comforted him when he was down, because we all know puppies and kittens can do that or a little demon child that behaved the same way and he would of ended up adopting it regardless. So the fact that she is human has little or nothing to do with the change in his heart. She just happens to be human, there’s no more meaning to it than that. The development in his heart was simply that a development of compassion or sympathy towards anything other than himself occurred, no more no less. Originally Sesshomaru never showed any compassion for anything or anyone rather it was man, beast or demon, not even his closest servant, Jaken (though he did resurrect him of his own accord, when he was cut in half by Kaijimbo and didn’t toss him away like he did with the Tokijin when it broke, hm...) so he was never truly coldhearted, meaning evil, however this is NOT entirely gone from him. Sesshomaru may care for Rin, yes, Kohaku yes, Kagura, yes—somewhat at the end, he may have been tolerant of Kagome and spared Sango and has refrained from using his full power on Inuyasha at every turn (he uses minimal power in battle—good reason why he almost never wins XD… unfortunately we never get to see him truly exert himself to exhaustion) but I’ll be willing to bet he’d leave the next person he’d cross (a person in which he has no personal attachments)to simply die on the road rather it’s a human or not.

If this is indeed not so—I would be pissed! In my opinion if Sesshomaru were to become a soft hearted fool that would fight to protect humanity like a common guard dog or anything of that nature it would just destroy his character. Personally I’m such a major fan of him because he’s not one of those classified “good guys” he’s neutral with a darkish-side and bears an apathetic indifference towards humanity, and this most likely will never change.

Sesshomaru can develop strong bonds with others, but they’re extremely selective and personal, while remaining uncaring and indifferent towards anyone else if he wasn’t this way then he just wouldn’t be Sesshomaru anymore :/

I could just as well imagine Sesshomaru befriending a kitten, grows attactched to it as the adorble little thing follows him down the road. (perhaps not to the point where he would risk his ife over it...X} ) but, say if the little thing got cruely run over in the road that he would draw his sword and save it:)

yes and no, he doesn't want to be like his father and like human cause they make you weak. But, yes somewhat because he feel emotion for Rin right, so I still chose yes.
