Poonam Bajwa's first movie is Modati, a telugu film. After the success of this film she got a chance to act with Nagarjuna in the film Boss. Being successful in the telugu industry she tried her luck in the tamil industry.

Poonam Bajwa's first tamil movie Thenavettu was released in 2008 in which she acted with the young hero Jeeva. Her अगला film Seval was with Bharath. These two films were superhits and bought fame to the heroine. She acted extraordinarily in Seval and got great applause from her fans.
