LostOblivion Ash=idiotic fail/faggot Red=Bad ass mofo(for a pokemon character anyways) that has actually done what he set out to do.

Mrakmaldanish Can't believe they made Ash Ketchum personality exactly OPPOSITE Red(the character he is based off) Also, Red has a serious nature as he seldom smiles.

LostOblivion Red technically never had a personality in game since it was only a Yes/No option based game back then. Manga Red has a mix between game Red lack of personality(causing lack of visible emotion at times) and a bit of Ash's helpful side mixed with actual brains and skill.

Mrakmaldanish They should make an episode where Ash gets a traumatic experience which causes him to stop playing a fool and start being serious about things (much like team rocket who turned badass in BW). He will finally be able to live up to his game/manga counterpart. I'll be so happy.

LostOblivion I doubt that will ever happen and even then it prob will be only for a few episodes. Just think about though: A serious protagonist for a childrens anime won't work as well someone that can bring comedy(albeit bad) as young children will prefer a happy guy (eg: Spongebob). Everything in every series is in there for a reason, can't think of a good example from another series atm.

LostOblivion I could see them just being a special so it doesn't have any implications in the anime, like the mirage pokemon special or when they meet Mewtwo again.
