The writers really screwed up here, another reason why I hated season 3!!! If I was Nathan I would've been scared to lose my brother as much as my wife!!! Yes Haley got hit by a car (while pregnant) but Lucas had a heartattack and almost died for christ sakes!!! Not once did I see Nathan feel any fear or pain over Lucas, he didn't even visit his hospital room!!!

I think he was concerned for both but he couldn't leave his wife and child's side and he knew Karen, Peyton and Brooke were at his side so he stayed at Haley's.

Yes But Lucas is his brother, I just think the writers could've handled this senario alot better than they did!! It just felt cold and neglected to me!!! Nathan should've at least went to see Lucas once while they were in the hospital, that's his blood!!!! Blood is thicker than water!!!

I agree with LilyRoeScott. There were a lot of people there for Lucas and he was the only family that Haley had there. I think that it was right for Nathan to be there for his wife and unborn child. And it was actually in Season 4.

Thoes people don't compare to family I'm sorry!! I know Nathan was concerned to leave his pregnant wife alone but his brother was fighting for his life!!! Nathan owed it to Lucas to at least be there once after coldly pushing him away for majority of season 3!! Oh wait didn't this happen in season 4? Can't remember but I might've got it mixed up sorry.

Karen was there for Lucas, and she's family.

I see where your coming from, but honestly Nathan's pregnent wife was fighting for her life. He had no idea weather she was going to live and weather the baby was alright. And he was concerned about Lucas in the start of the episode he was crying over the both of them when Brooke and Peyton came to see him. And like someone already said Lucas had Karen, Peyton, and Brooke there for him. Anyways, Lucas and Nathan didn't even treat eachother like family until waaaay later, so in a way Haley was his family first. Also, I just always felt that Lucas just generally always cared for Nathan more then Nathan cared for Lucas... Which isn't exactly a bad thing because Lucas is just a caring person in general, most of the time.

No Lucas and Nathan became family in season 2 after they bonded at the end of season 1!!! I still think the writers could've handled it better, just wasn't enough. It seemed like he was crying for Haley more than his brother. I get what your saying, yes both were fighting for their lives, but more Lucas as we saw when he took a walk in limbo with Keith's spirit. I just think Nathan should've asked how Lucas was doing at least once!!

I do understand what you're saying, but there was actually a lot of time when he wasn't with Haley or Lucas. He actually spent most of his time in the chapel, praying.

He was obviously concerned about both. But I would expect him to stay by his wife's side. After all, it's HIS WIFE. AND not to mention... his child. And as others said, Lucas had plenty of people standing by his side... while Haley had no one. Plus, he may have thought that Haley's condition was worse, since she was freaking hit by a car lol (while pregnant, mind you). As opposed to Lucas, who just collapsed afterwards, because of stress on his heart. And on top of everything, he held himself responsible for Haley getting hurt. So ofcourse his mind is soley going to be on her safety, and how guilty he feels for the position he put her in.

But no matter what the circumstances, I would 100% expect him to be more concerned about Haley and his child.... and stay by her side the whole time!

first of all this was NOT season 3, this was season 4. so maybe you should recheck your statement about this being another reason you hate that season, loll cuz it was deffo apart of the writing of season 4.

Um yes Lucas was there for Nathan at first, but then he snuck off to go see Haley then lied about it, both Lucas and Nathan made some mistakes in there brother realationship.

Yes they both made mistakes but I think Nathan made more than Lucas did in their relationship. Everything that Lucas did good or bad was to protect thoes he loved, Nathan is more spiteful and holds it against his brother majority of season 3!!!! Here's my reason why that season sucked, it shouldn't have just been about Naley fixing their marrige, Nathan & Lucas shouldve been fixing their relationship too instead of avoiding each other and hating each other!!! It's pretty bad when the death of a family member snaps these two out of their petty rift, not too mention bad writing. If any thing Nathan should've been more pissed at his bitch wife than his brother!!! But that's beside the point, Nathan should have been concerned for both Lucas and Haley while they were in the hospital!!!!

You do realize that OTH is a drama show right? No drama = no show.
So how is it possible that the main relationship of the show, Lucas & Nathan, are acting like friends the entire time?
As far as the hospital situation, I think Nathan's behavior is completely natural.
I mean the 2 people he loves most are in life danger: his wife + his child (which is also his 'blood' FYI) They're his everything, without them he would be totally lost.
And yes, he was also concerned about Lucas.

i think that he was concerned about both. but truthfully i would more concerned about my husband/wife depending on the person, more than my sibling also depending on the relationship.

You guys do know that husbands and wives can always breakup, but brothers or family in general is forever!!! FYI Haley is his wife XNaley_JamesX NOT his blood, but yes in the case of their child being in danger do of course the writers would want the viewers to want Nathan to be more conerned about Haley, to me its crap!! That episode should have been about Lucas almost dying instead of Haley winding up in the hospital at the same friggan time!!! I KNOW ITS A DRAMA SERIES, DO I LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT??!!! All I said was season 3 should have been about Nathan & Lucas fixing their relationship too, not just Naley fixing their marrige and certainly not that damn Leyton/Brucus crap!!! How could the writers make the brothers hate each other for half that season, not have anything to do with one another, but then use a school-shooting episode to pull the brothers back in each others lives??? That doesn't sound right to me!! We already got that sibling rivary crap in season 1!! Yes I can see Nathan being mad at Lucas for 1 or 2 episodes of season 3 but not half the friggan season!!!! His anger should've been aimed more at Haley not Lucas, WHO WAS THERE FOR HIM DURING THE WHOLE GRIEVING PERIOD!!! If I sound bitter about this situation I am sorry, just wanted to get other thoughts on this.

I literally watched this ep yesterday and I remember Peyton asking "hows Lucas" and Nathan said "I don't know". I thought that was weird and could have been handled better,It's like Nathan had no concern for his brother at all.
