They can't even be compared to BL.

I dont like this. But Lucas calling Peyton pretty girl was way worse...

I adore Brucas, they're one of my favorites couple ever! BUT I really want Brooke to be happy! I think she deserves that... And Julian is very sweet. If Lucas can be happy married to Peyton, why Brooke can't calls Julian "boyfriend"?!

I guess in a way it makes me mad, but honestly i'm not surprised it's Mark... I'm done with this show nothing he does now can upset me i lost my connection to the show

He is her boyfriend... That's a fact. Lucas was too. I don't see any problem here.

^^^ But the whole scene was such a ripoff of BL's scene in 3x10 where they talk about how great it is to be back together.

I don't care that she called him boyfriend since she also called Felix boyfriend... it was the fact that the scene was an exact replica of 3x10 that annoyed me.
Brooke & Julian are a great couple... they don't need to reenact Brooke & Lucas scenes to be great. It makes me not enjoy Brulian scenes, which sucks because I REALLY like Brulian as a couple.

Okay, I'm not a "BL fan"... so I'm not going to pick an answer.

But I have a couple mixed feelings about this scene. By first impression, I didn't mind, or think anything of the mere fact that Brooke called Julian "boyfriend". Obviously, it's just a trait that Brooke carries from relationship to relationship. She clearly doesn't reference the term to soley Lucas, or think to label each guy she dates individually... but instead, "boyfriend" is just simply more of a BROOKE thing, rather than a Brooke AND Lucas thing. When she has a boyfriend, she calls them boyfriend. Fair enough. Cute and sweet habbit for Brooke. Pretty harmless.

But then, as the scene continued on... something felt a little odd. Right after I heard Julian say "you're really liking this calling me boyfriend thing again aren't you?", I thought to myself "wait a minute. I've seen this scene before.":

Lucas: "it feels good, hearing you call me boyfriend again"
Brooke: "feels good to say it"

I dunno, if I were a BL fan, I would almost take these scenes as an insult. It's like Mark thinks that if BJu do the same things that BL used to do... then he will be able to convert you guys into liking them, just as much as you liked BL... because they appear to have all the same qualities on the surface. But us as an audience aren't that brainless. It's not just about the lines that are used. It's about the stories of these couples that make us like them. It's about their history, chemistry, connection, and passion for eachother that the couple shares. Using repeated lines isn't automatically going to make BL fans think "oh my gosh! They're really similar to BL! Maybe it is ok for me to let BL go, and like BJu just as much". And that's really what it feels like Mark is trying to do. Give BL fans a NEW BL, so that they still have a couple to passionately ship in today's episodes. But instead, it seems like he's pushing you guys away from BJu instead, and making you resent Mark a little bit for trying to overshadow BL's past moments, by repeating them in Brookes current relationship.

So I dunno. I don't mind the "boyfriend" thing. But putting myself in BL fans' shoes, I can definitely understand why the rest of the scene would have been annoying.

I mean it does annoy me a little but meh. Whatever. Nothing compares to BL. BJu it's just a copy of BL.

well brooke calls all her boyfriends "boyfriend" but still its something the fanbase relates to Brucas. its just a BL thing. to what kellyerin said, i do find this insulting, but what do you expect from that ass mark? pretty girl, boyfriend, he just cant help but recycle classic BL things, they were just THAT good lol. but seriously marks done it so many times before iv just gotten use to it now.

I WOULD pass it off as a "Brooke" thing to say because it is, but she`s never said it to ANYONE except for Lucas, and she`s had other boyfriends. But really... it`s just expected now.

Nicknames were cute when they were in HS, but re-using it now is just ridic. I'm not mad as a BL fan, I'm more mad as a OTH fan. Come on now, give BJu an original scene! I pity the BJu fans.

This didn't bother me that much now Lucas calling Peyton, "Pretty Girl", that drove me nuts, that was Brooke's nickname from him but I guess both Lucas and Brooke have favorite little nicknames and whoever their dating thats what they'll be called or at least the ones who mean something to them.

Pretty much what i was going to say, i see it more as a ploy to draw the fans into shipping Bju because they are so similar to a couple the fans have liked before.

Personally i didn't mind the scene, it looked like Brooke sorta realized that it was similar and maybe thought of Lucas? Maybe im just pulling straws "Yeah has a nice ring to don't you think" but i liked it, lol.

My heart will be forever Brucas but I don't really care if she called Julian "boyfriend" as she did with Lucas. It happens in real life that you plant sweet nicknames on a new love taking it from who used to be your love..that's how it works sometimes.
