"Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!" my TV scram as I walked through the small living room.
"Grams? What are आप watching?" I asked plopping onto the couch.
"Madea." she simple said, "This कुतिया, मतलबी is crazy!" I looked at her confused. I didn't even know she knew curse words!
"Just because I'm old, it doesn't mean I don't curse sweet heart." Grams picked up a remote and paused the movie, "Your Father called earlier, while आप where at school."
I sighed.
"I know आप haven't talked to him in two years, Kaitlin. But he is trying, and it would be nice if आप tried, too."
"I have tried!" I cried, raising my voice a bit.
"Yes, well, just please give him a chance." She begged, "He wants आप to go to California, to spend the summer with him."
एल sat up straighter, "California?! The summer?? Do आप hate me या something?"
"You will not raise your voice at me young lady!" She snapped.
"Yes mam."
"Now, आप know how I feel about the H word."
"I'm sorry,"
"Its alright. Now, how was your very last दिन of school?" I am a senior this year, and today was my last day.
"Fun, I guess." I have never been too fond of high school. या middle school. या any school. I was about to say something else until Grams interrupted me, "Your father is picking आप up tomorrow."
I.Was. Speechless. "What?!" I stood up in anger, "Graduation? It's Saturday!"
"That's why he is staying here Friday, and आप two are heading to California afterwards." She explained.
I calmed myself down and sat down, "What about आप and Grandpa?"
"I think me and your Grandpa can survive a few weeks alone. Plus, आप might even have fun!"
"Doubt it." I mumbled.
Grams stood up, "I am making jambalaya, जम्बाला for रात का खाना tonight. So, maybe आप can invite Chance over."
"Really?" I smiled and stood up.
"Yes, आप have to break him the news anyway." She grabbed her keys and walked out the door.

I took out my ब्लूबेरी and dialed Chances number. I asked him to come over and he quickly excepted. Since he lives right down the road it only took him two मिनटों to get there.
"Hey!" I smiled as I gave him a hug.
"Hey Katy!" He yelled back.
I took his hand in mine and pulled him inside, "So, my Gram isn't here, she went to the store to get your प्रिय dinner." He sat on the सोफ़ा, सोफे and pulled me onto his lap, "She's making her jambalaya?"
I nodded.
"Sweet!"
"And there is something I need to tell you." I stood up. Come on Kaitlin. आप can tell him without crying. I took a deep breath and fastly said, "My dad is coming to town tomorrow and coming to my graduation and then taking me to California with him." Chance' s face paled. He gulped, "You're moving?"
"No! it's just for the summer! I swear!"
"Okay," He stood up and hugged me, "I प्यार you,"
"I प्यार you, too," Before आप think anything, let me clear some things up. No, me and Chance are not dating. We are best friends, practically brothers and sisters... well, not really because we do किस sometimes, but only a peck... nothing else. Well, except for that time at homecoming, and the fair, and... nevermind.
"So, when is Grams going to be back?" He asked, pulling me onto the couch, once again.
I shrugged, placing my head on his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer to him. I messed with his dirty blonde hair and looked into his beautiful brown eyes. I leaned in and kissed his bottom lip, "I am going to miss आप so much," I whispered. I wrapped my legs around him as he deepened the kiss. Okay, Okay, maybe we are और like best फ्रेंड्स with benefits...

He moved him hand up and down my back, "I think I'm going to miss this the most.."
I backed away and smiled, "Same here. I don't know how I am going to survive twelve weeks without your kisses." I looked into his eyes, "I think Gram is here." I got off of him and opened the house door, and then opened the screen door, locking it in place.
"Hello Grams!" Chance कहा coming out the door.
"Hello Chance, Can आप grab some आग wood from out of the barn, please?"
"Yes man," Chance headed for the barn.
"Oh no." Grams whispered, grabbing a extra large paper bag from the old van.
"What is it?" I asked in concern.
"Can आप go in the खलिहान and feed Jewels?" I nodded and ran to the barn.

I quietly opened the खलिहान door, and shut it. I could here the chickens and roasters clucking, घोड़े neighing, and Chance throwing wood into a wheelbarrel. I slowly walked over to him and jumped on his back. He fell to the big pile of hay.. and I fell on top.
"I kinda like it like this..." He whispered.
"Shut up!" I kissed him once, and then twice, "I need to feed Jewels," I stood up, patting the सूखी घास, घास off me. I walked to Jewels stable.
"Hey, angel." I patted her mane as she nuzzled my hand. I grabbed some grain and put it in a big bowl, I grabbed a bag of oats and her vitamins. Once it was altogether in the bowl I poured it in her big bowls that she eats out of. After I out everything up I walked back to Chance and we headed to the house.


We all sat around the रात का खाना तालिका, टेबल saying prayer and getting warmed द्वारा the fire. Once prayer was over we released hands and began eating. The रात का खाना was silent, and that was very rare here. I didn't eat that much, since my appetite was demolished द्वारा the awkwardness.
"So," Grams कहा sitting on the couch, slipping her चाय - something she does everyday after dinner, "I think I might hit the sack. Goodnight."
"Goodnight Grams!" me and Chance said.
"And thank आप for dinner," Chance said
"No need to welcome me, आप know आप are always welcome here." My Grams walked into her bedroom and shut the door.
"I guess I should head home." Chance stood up and pulled me up.
"Alright, I'll walk आप out." We headed out hand- n- hand.
Once we got outside we stopped on the porch and starred into each other's eyes. He pulled me closer and kissed me passionately. I kissed back. After a few मिनटों we pulled back breathless. I pecked his lips and smiled, "See आप tomorrow."
"Alright, night."
"Goodnight." I walked inside and went straight to my room. I could still taste his lips. Strawberries and Kiwi.

I fell asleep dreaming about him....
