But it can do the opposite too. For me though, it kinda distracts me when I'm going through a hard time. I've also realized that I can't push myself as far as usual when I'm running without my mp3 player, because it distracts me from the pain.

I don't know how I would get through the day without music. My iPod is my most prized possession. There's something about music that makes you feel safe and happy, whenever I feel depressed I listen to my iPod and things don't seem so bad. :)

Music CREATED my mortal soul. My parents first met when they joined the same band! If it wasn't for the existence of music I'd have never been born. :D

Interestingly, some have said that music has sometimes helped to bring a person out of a coma. It's not something that always works, and it'd probably depend on why the person is in a coma in the first place, but it's still pretty neat.
