What controls should work in a fully operating Mr Palanchin? Specifically, can the eyes be opened and closed from inside the mannequin?

The head-control stick (which obviously rotates the head) has a lever to open/close the mouth, and a metal gizmo which opens/closes the eyes.
In the late 70s/early 80s, my younger brother got one of these second-hand from Romford Market for a pittance! At one point, I fixed the broken mouth mechanism using a lolly-stick and an elastic-band (which apparently, has only recently perished)!
