OK one way of looking at this is locke used the phrase "i'm going to kill him" as a metaphor for killing the myth of jacob. None of the "lower" others have ever seen/had contact with him before and so he wants to abolish that and give everyone belief in the island for a worthy cause...

so who HAS seen Jacob? It seems like Ben hasnt, but has Richard seen him?
well ben claims he has, locke suggested that he lied about that... but he seemed pretty convicing back in season 3 when they paid a visit to the cabin. i would assume richard has seen him, in all the years he's spent on the island. Though this hasn't been confirmed/seen
Jacob is the elusive and mysterious "true" leader of the others. He seems to be who everyone जवाब to. The only person who communicates with him is Richard Alpert and if आप believe anything that he says Ben. I'm throwing this out there.... I think Richard might be Jacob. I mean why hasn't the man aged ever????? He is the only person who has been present throught out the entire history(that we have seen) on the island and he's always looked exactly the same(except on occasion he has longer hair). I think Locke knows this and is going to kill "the myth" that is Jacob once and for all.

very possible.. I have been wondering about Richard lately too. He looked he same even back when he visited Locke as a child right
(I wasnt finished) Richard is the only other that has always been around and I always wondered why he would just let Ben be in charge when he had been there longer. If he is Jacob and doesn't want anyone to know then letting Ben be the leader would be a good way to do that.
I just saw another theory पोस्टेड on E! just now that really struck a cord. It's that an older Jack is Jacob and that's why Claire and Christian are helping Jacob so much. I can't wait to find out what the hell's going on...
