Sauron would rule over Tom

LOL I read this question in my updates, and KNEW RulerL0rd made the question, because the question reads: "Who do you think could win?"

Again, this is another hypothetical and the only answers can be made up through assumption (because of our little knowledge of Tom). I won't even try.

The people at the Council of Elrond seemed pretty sure that even Tom would fall to Sauron.

We have a little information about Tom Bombadil. I have the feeling that if Tolkien was alive was alive for a little bit more time he would describe and explain what exactly was Tom. So i will just say Sauron because he is all powerful but i am not sure about Tom.

I don't know. I think Tom was so in his little world that you never fully knew if he could take on Sauron. I think he could have, but he was so consumed by his love that he didn't even think about it. If you think of his character, he only saved the hobbits because he was passing around the area.

You're all wrong. Tom Bombadil would win if challenged in his forest.
In Elrond council they didn't agree that Sauron would win but that Sauron would destroy the rest of the world, which is quite different.
Tom Bombabil is much more ancient than Sauron and far more powerful and also immune to the ring of power which represents the essence of Sauron. So why Sauron would win? He would lose for sure!

They never explained Tom's character much but if Sauron came down their himself with the ring he would be unstoppable unless Melkor himself came to aid Tom.

alexpace,Sauron is more ancient even than Earth(He is a demigod and as Tolkien stated he was stronger than his master because his power was concetrated but he was stupid(as you see).When Gandalf came back he said that he is the strongest of all that Aragorn,Legolas and Gimli could see,only if they see Sauron(Sauron is still stronger)Sauron is more ancient even than Gandalf.He was originaly Mairon(and he was stronger than any other Maiar and Valar,but why Eonwe is cheaf Maiar?Because Eru had known it earlier that Sauron is stupid.It was stated that Eru lets to eter good and evil.
